Putting your car keys in the fridge with your food guarantees you can’t leave without your food. I learned that from a backpacker who is wiser than I am.
I’m totally with you re: needing a water bladder to get enough H2O! I find myself not drinking from bottles if I have to reach for them, but sometimes I have the opposite problem with a bladder and I tend to guzzle through the hose. Definitely a double-edged sword!
That was a spectacular hike, and you are 100 percent a trail boss. Good to put your new gear through the test on a day hike -- and that was quite a day hike! Thanks for sharing the views of Colorado, they were breathtaking. On to Tahoe!
Omg we both have the same name, we’re both gluten free and both love hiking !!! How cool is that ?? I’m so glad I found your channel , girl your awesome 👏
I am looking forward to seeing your dog. I have been thinking of taking my Beagle on hikes. Wow, beautiful dog. I put a little petroleum jelly on my feet before a long run or hike. It really help prevent blisters.
I love seeing all of your recommendations on products that you love/aren’t always a fan of. Super helpful! But I cannot figure out how you go on all these hikes without bear spray. I live in Washington and have also done a lot of hiking in Wyoming (majority solo), but I couldn’t imagine not having bear spray with me with all of the bear sightings I’ve had. Not that I ever hope to use it, but just in case as a solo hiker. You’re a brave one. Lol thanks for all of your inspo!!
Aw thank you! You are so sweet! We only have black bears here (even though some are actually brown in color). So no grizzlies 😆 when I was hiking up north I brought bear spray but in Colorado there’s no need! They are more scared of you than you are of them 🐻 just have to be smart about food and mommas with babies
you should’ve made some dry food if you’re carrying any water you can boil some water up and jump in to the dry food you can have a nice hot meal I would want to go to your unit it’s super late cheap in a portable and pack down fairly late depends how many days you want to be out there on the trail
how do you purchase your hiking shoes for sizing? For my hiking boots I went up so that my toes have room for swelling and hiking down. Is it the same for trail shoes? Good luck on the TRT!!
Maybe write a note of everything you need to get before you leave on your back up or a sticky note on your door so you don't forget the food in the fridge.
I Truly admire your spirit of adventure, the outdoors, & being one with nature. That said, I've noticed from watching more than a few youtube hiker vidz, with reviews of their gear/supplies, there hasn't been any emphasis on the importance of any kind of personal defense related gear. No not firearms, 😖 but at least something like pepper spray (preferably the larger canister ones for Grizzly Bears & other predators/bad people), a camping knife/machete, or better yet a walking staff with a sharp spear point to keep predators at bay. Maybe it's wisest to have at least 1 partner (a group is best) rather than just going solo. You never know what kind of hazards might confront you out there on the trail. Never take your precious life for granted. It's more fragile than you think. You only get one shot with it, so be wary/aware & remember, it's not just you you need to be concerned about, but it's also your friends & family who will suffer if something bad or tragic happens. Be Smart, Be Safe & Be Aware @ all Times! 🙂 Cheers!
ive been reading how its not good for pups to drink out of streams and water sources since they too can get parasites, have you come across this? i make them carry a water bowl and fill it with filtered water now.
Gorgeous hike and what a fabulous training ground. Where did you stow your gopro when you were hiking with the poles. I'm trying to figure out a quick access solution on my day pack.
Hi there! There isn’t a specific loop name. I linked together a few different trials to make this loop. All back in the maroon bells wilderness though 😊
cool video! I'm still learning how to make vlog videos on hiking. Mine that was uploaded in my channel looks so new lmao. Like really, your videos are amazing! I will learn from it
What's the name of this hick I'm blown away by the beautifully mountain views. Great video love your vibe. My wife has family living in colorado so maybe I'll be able to see the views in real life one day.
Great vlog Arielle. Liked so many things about this. It's unfortunate you forgot part of your food supply in the fridge, but if there is anything I've learned over the years of running, hiking and backpacking in the Colorado mountains is I always carry too much food. This is just a mental thing because we live in a food rich society. Remember you can go days without eating. Yes, it may be uncomfortable, but that is what your fat stores are for. Train your body to fuel itself off of fat and you can go for days without all that other stuff. May not be totally comfortable but sometimes that's what surviving in the Colorado wilderness is about; getting out of your comfort zone. Your scenery shots are amazing and love the little side shots of Tabor. Keep posting this great content!
Wondering why you had no safety items like knife ...pepper spray, tazer , or firearm. As a women especially , this type of safety precaution is very important .
To be honest, i feel really safe in the outdoors! It’s in cities where I feel more like I may need those things. I do usually have a knife on me though. Usually to cut salami haha but it can definitely be multi use ☺️

I'm stealing this life hack! haha so smart!!

should always carry a sleeping bag and at least a tarp or poncho, just for emergencies. an emergency freeze dried extra meal.
🙌🏼😊
I love that it was all filmed with a gopro

I stash it in the side pocket! Kind of awkward to grab but easy access 😆
@@ArielleShipe Thanks for the reply! The side pockets on my day pack are hard to use. I may have to get a fanny pack to go with. Or a new daypack!🤷♀️
Diggin the music! 💯
Thank you!
where does this hike start? Thanks
Hi! What's the name of this loop trail?

Such a beautiful hike! Totally going to put this on my bucket list but I'm all the way over in NorCal :( Maybe one day!
One day for sure! ❤️

This is awesome and something I would love to do but Do you ever get nervous hiking alone that early in the morning? Lol
this was actually my first time hiking alone in the dark! It was way less scary than I thought! Very peaceful actually!
Arielle Shipe oh that’s great!! Have you ever been to the east coast hiking?

21:00 In Alabama, when it’s raining and the sun is shining, we say “the devil’s beating his wife”. No, I don’t know why we say that.
We say this in Texas too lol
What the name of intro music

Super nice, love your channale. if u come to Slovenia we can do a vlog together, i think you will like this country :)
That would be awesome!!
Beutiful country
Calling this a solo hike is a tad disrespectful to your pup...just sayin ;)
hahah so true! thank you for calling me out
