Brilliance Laser Marking Inks are not marketed to diode users, but maybe it should be. This video is a follow-up to the first test video I published. This video shows just how easy it is to use when marking stainless steel with a diode laser.

Another great video Steve. I always come away with something from your videos. Thanks
Nice one, Steve. I remember watching your first video on this product. The cleanup afterwards is so easy. Lightburns centre finder is an awesome tool.
Excellent !!! I've heard of and seen this product, but didn't believe the hype until now. Thanks Steve for opening my mind.

Hi. I would love to make some pendants for my nieces. Would you mind sharing a link to the charms you were using please? Thanks for this video!
These medallions didn't have a hole in them for using with a necklace, charms, etc. I found them on Ebay. If this is the still you would like to have I will find the link and share it. They have a jewelry grade finish on them, they would require a separate mount of some type for jewelry applications. I am happy to get the link and share it, but it will be tomorrow before I'm back in the office to have access to that info. Is the purpose of the marking spray to prevent the reflection from damaging the laser?
No. There is a chemical and physical reaction taking place with laser, heat and chemicals in the spray. The secret sauce in most sprays is the Titanium Dioxide, (TiO2). This is what make white spray paint white, powdered sugar donuts white, and many other things. I rubbed a white donut on a piece of stainless to make dark marks with the diode laser. The real trick is finding the right delivery system that provides a consistent covering. You can make you own TiO2 spray with alcohol. But is will not work as effeciently as the Brilliance spray and there is nothing to mix or clean up after mixing.
Were you not worried about the high reflection off the stainless?
There is no reflection off the stainless. The stainless is coated with the Brilliance. The laser comes into contact with the Brilliance. There is a reaction with the laser that created the permanent mark on the laser. No more reflective surface. It works great.
My man anyone ever tell you that you must have amnesia? Cause your definitely John Goodman. 🥴 Just playing. keep etching brother.
Steve What type of metals are you engraving? I have found that a good quality dry erase marker works pretty good on stainless steel I cant say which stainless steel but I engraved my name on my Igauge Calipers and The steel rules from Incra.
