I'm thankful that social media has allowed for all of us women across the world to come together in support, education and strength for each other. It is inspiring and comforting and I dont know how I would have learned what I have then use that for my health without this community of woman. Thank you
I was on estrogen since I was 23yrs. old (hysterectomy). When I turned 60 dr. wanted me off of it. I refused, but after a couple of years I could not get a prescription (I went to more than 1 dr.). I'm now 67 and through research and determination I found Midi Health a virtual care clinic. I started estradiol in January.

Thank you so much for this! I am 72 and have been on HRT since menopause. I am healthy with a normal bone scan! I walk 5 miles at least 3 times a week. I do lift weights, but Now I’m going to aim for an hour a day. I am sending now to my 45 yr old daughter. I’ve had the conversation about starting HRT sooner rather than later. ( Not now, but Now is when she should really start educating herself). Again, thank you!!!
I had my first of multiple orthopedic surgeries when I was 15 and in short order my mobility became severely affected. At 43 I’m feeling a bit hopeless about making any improvements since I’m physically unable to do a lot of the things the doctor suggests. But this gives me motivation to seek out help to change what I can. So wish I had a proactive physician like Dr. Wright!

Another thought, I think protein battles might be as big as politics or vegan vs carnivore. Since I'm leaning towards WFPB diet, I've listened to many on our real protein needs. You notice even Vonda says 'ideal' body weight. Some say lean body weight, which of course is not the # on the scale. If you listen to Dr Chris Gardener and Dr M. Greger, and even Valter Longo they are much more conservative about protein requirements. In fact, too much can lead to excess IGF-1 which is not in line with longevity. It's all worth a deep dive, if you are so inclined. The other problem is that when we add in tons of animal protein we are getting more sat. fat than we think. McDonald's burgers are now up to 64% and even modern day chicken has been highly bred to be much fatter than it used to be (and then also injected with salt water to add weight and oh,... sodium). We'll never build tons of muscle (and thereby strengthen your bones also) simply by upping our protein intake, we gotta lift heavy things. I do agree that we should space our protein out, (I personally strive for 30/30/30). I'm glad to see you broaching these health topics Penn, keep up the good work.
I enjoyed your talk. Does she recommend calcium supplements? I know she mentioned Magnesium, Vit D and possibly collagen but don’t remember her mentioning calcium.
I am 58. Started HRT almost a year ago. I started Muay Thai two years ago. While we don’t lift weights in the category (I do a separate weight class on Saturday’s) we skip for 5 mins before each class begins. Then, we go through three different combination rounds (3 mins each in length), many classes, we run through them twice and then finish with abs. When I say that I am the strongest I have ever been in my life, believe me. Muay Thai has changed my body. I have much less body fat now. I have biceps and my legs have gotten very, very strong. Moving the body and challenging yourself is so important as we age. I wish I had started sooner. Learning how to defend myself has also been so empowering. Age is only a number. Find an exercise that you love doing and challenge yourself. You’ll be amazed!!
Love this! THANK YOU, Penn! I really love Her and have followed her for a few months! Smart and strong woman! 😊❤ ❓❓My question relates to what particular supplements are good, and how much of each we should have in terms of calcium, magnesium, vitamin D, and K2? That would be my question.❓❓. Thank you!
I joined a strength training class, after rehab it from two knee replacement surgeries due to osteoarthritis. At said gym, I contracted Staph infection and I’m in the process of a two surgeries revision with heavy duty antibiotics. Can I strength training at home? Do you have a program that doesn’t require going to a gym. I’m doing all of the other steps recommended by her.
I got a DEXA scan behind (this sounds so sketchy but it didn’t seem like it at the time😂) a gym in a van (no, they didn’t offer my puppies and candy!) and I’m wondering if that scan was the same as the scan that insurance won’t cover? Or is that one more “medical” and provides different/more in-depth results? I got it bc I wanted a baseline at 52 before I begin HRT and taking more serious steps in my meno-journey (like lifting weights , eating more lean protein and looking into bone-building supplements).
I was diagnosed with an Oestrogen dependent breast cancer at the age of 48. Was on Tamoxifen for 8 years.I’m almost 60 now. Can’t take HRT and have now (6 months) developed AIH. I’m now on Budesonide (steroid) for life. The last scan 2 years ago, showed I had the bones of a healthy 20 yo. Are my bones doomed?
My personal opinion is there are 18-20 amino acids that are incredible for our skin and bones. I am team collagen/amino acids for sure. But I will ask the experts their opinion!
Hi Penny! thank you for this! my name is Linda and I am a 65 year old..been on HRT for 15 years!! cant function without it!! just found out have osteoarthitis in my back , my doc says no more running because of impact...wondering what dr wright would say? cheers
I just did A Dexa scan I was minus 2.5 now what ? I can barely move around always in pain between 4-7 every day spine and pelvis. What can I do? I had 11 surgeries in 4 years🙄
I watch most of your posts and they help me tremendously. I have 2 questions for you, 2 years almost you did your facelift. How do you feel about it, do you have other enlightenment to give us. I follow a surgeon, and he says that to avoid weird looks, it is may be better to do all at once. Did you do a blepharoplasty independently? Thank you for your precious post and channel. Last question, is it normal to wake up one day and see the sagging almost suddenly?
Hi! Thank you for being here 🩷 As for enlightenment, I would say that for me early intervention was right. Beyond that, my aging concerns haven’t gone away….i still fight with hyperpigmentation and texture changes…but luckily I really enjoy the process of caring for skin. I did the upper bleph at the same time (haven’t done lower yet, maybe in the next 5-7 years. We’ll see 😊 As for the overnight sagging, that’s a very common occurrence. Obviously it isn’t really overnight it just feels that way. I think as we lose collagen it sneaks up on us and one day it really shows up. I do think that we are our worst critics….if I was talking to you right now in person I’m sure I’d think you’re a beautiful person and I wouldn’t see the “flaws” you might see. I guess that just being human, right? I hope you have a wonderful day and thank you for your thoughtful questions 🩷
Hi there….do you know of a resource like Myalloy that will also do bloodwork. I am a bit hesitant to get a treatment plan back on a questionnaire. Thanks!
I’m confused about what I need to do. I’m 64 post menopausal. I just got a DEXA scan done and had a -2.8 score on femur. Am I at a point where I can improve scores w/o medication or should I start a medication?
I am 45, I have been taking birth control pills for 20 years, on a low estrogen pill since 40, I had my doctor check my estradiol level, my doctor said it was normal for ovulating females, I am confused about how to know when to go from using birth control pills to HRT, unfortunately my doctor is not very educated on HRT and I live in a rural area. Any help appreciated 😊

what are the guild ines on sugar. I understand intake of sugar is terrible for the body. Is palm sugar, coconut sugar, honey all lumped into this rule of eliminate sugar? what about the sugar in kombucha for probiotics. Also if you can not drink whole milk what is a good substitute ? Must be fat free - I have EPI can not eat fruits with seeds like blueberries and strawberries , can not eat salmon, nuts whole milk fats and seeds are not broken down.
I’ve had a knee replacement and just got a rebounder (mini trampoline). It doesn’t seem to bother me but everyone is different. She also mentioned a vibration plate. You stand on those and it vibrates.
I certainly don’t think it’s appropriate to ask her. “The lady” is an orthopedic surgeon on my channel as a guest to talk about bone health and menopause.
Of all the content that you have put out over the years I was not impressed.Your recommendations about skin care especially the expensive ones were over the top. This podcast today changed that for me. building muscle is the single most important thing that a woman should do for longevity. Amen.
I’m glad you enjoyed this. I think you might have my channel confused….i don’t recommend a lot of expensive skincare 🤔 I’m actually team “affordable” most of the time.
I guess it's all relative! Expensive to 1 is a steal to another. Hopefully if you feel her suggestions are too pricey- you're able to take the knowledge she's jam packed into her vids about the key ingredients in the deck that make them stars 🌟 Hope that insight helps❤ Thank you Penny for spending the HOURS I know it takes to video, edit, re-edit, edit more... (you get the drift hehe) and present them to us for FREE! Love the info😊
Yes cost is relative. I do think reviv and skin medica are expensive brands. I do listen for the ingredient info but many southKorean skincare is on par and more affordable .
I’m sorry you see it that way. She is a lovely, passionate woman who cares about women. I think what you might perceive as arrogant is her experience treating women who should not be broken. Regardless, thank you for being here and watching 🩷🩷

Penn!! Excited to watch this! Love the puff sleeves on your top! Would you mind sharing a link? Thank you!
I enjoyed your talk. Does she recommend calcium supplements? I know she mentioned Magnesium, Vit D and possibly collagen but don’t remember her mentioning calcium.
Thank you! Excellent information.
Huh?! She is 57?! That speaks for itself. Holy moly. Following Vonda Wright. Thank you for the introduction, Penn Smith!
Right?! She’s incredible. I’m so inspired by Dr Wright!
She is awesome! Gonna follow her on IG
Oh you will love her insta!! So much great content!!
You look great. Before your cheeks were overly inflated. Now everything looks perfect
I actually was just heavier. I’ve lost weight.
But thanks.
You look beautiful
Hi Penny
Are you following her diet plan or another? This was great! 💟
❓❓My question relates to what particular supplements are good, and how much of each we should have in terms of calcium, magnesium, vitamin D, and K2? That would be my question.❓❓. Thank you!
Brava Penny! One of your best videos. You look stunning girlfriend. Whatever you're doing is working for you😘
Thank you so much! 🥰
Excellent information...thank you!💜
Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much.
Does topical ESTRADIOL stop natural ovarian production?
Terrific episude. So helpful. I've been wanting to buy a rebounder. I would love to know about calcium & if supplements are neccessary or helpful
My doc doesn’t listen and says I’m not in peri menopause. So frustrating . Can I get hrt online ? & what’s her insta
Penn has a link to Alloy under her video - that's the online resource where she gets her HRT
How is this not a Ted Talk?!
This beautiful Dr. looks 27
Thank You!
You're welcome!
How about essential amino acids? I heard it also helps with bone density and to build collagen.??
My personal opinion is there are 18-20 amino acids that are incredible for our skin and bones. I am team collagen/amino acids for sure. But I will ask the experts their opinion!
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Thank you for your response. Looking forward to their opinion.
I also love my whoop!!
Hi Penny! thank you for this! my name is Linda and I am a 65 year old..been on HRT for 15 years!! cant function without it!! just found out have osteoarthitis in my back , my doc says no more running because of impact...wondering what dr wright would say? cheers
Science. Thank you science!! :)
I just did A Dexa scan I was minus 2.5
now what ? I can barely move around always in pain between 4-7 every day spine and pelvis. What can I do? I had 11 surgeries in 4 years🙄
I watch most of your posts and they help me tremendously. I have 2 questions for you, 2 years almost you did your facelift. How do you feel about it, do you have other enlightenment to give us. I follow a surgeon, and he says that to avoid weird looks, it is may be better to do all at once. Did you do a blepharoplasty independently? Thank you for your precious post and channel.
Last question, is it normal to wake up one day and see the sagging almost suddenly?
Hi!
Thank you for being here 🩷
As for enlightenment, I would say that for me early intervention was right. Beyond that, my aging concerns haven’t gone away….i still fight with hyperpigmentation and texture changes…but luckily I really enjoy the process of caring for skin.
I did the upper bleph at the same time (haven’t done lower yet, maybe in the next 5-7 years. We’ll see 😊
As for the overnight sagging, that’s a very common occurrence.
I'm 51 and just had my first DEXA. Found out I have osteopenia in my hips and am worried
Hi there….do you know of a resource like Myalloy that will also do bloodwork. I am a bit hesitant to get a treatment plan back on a questionnaire. Thanks!
Look in to Midi- I think they do (or have you do) panels 🩷
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE thank you so much!
I’m confused about what I need to do. I’m 64 post menopausal. I just got a DEXA scan done and had a -2.8 score on femur. Am I at a point where I can improve scores w/o medication or should I start a medication?
Can't take HRT due to Cushings 😢 The Cushings thinned my bones.
excellent conversation! definitely going to find her online content, thanks for the intro
Hi. I am trying to find your video where you make at home masks using the paper mask with gel over it using products you already have. Please help. I loved that video and need to find it again. Thank you thank you
I believe you are talking about this video ua-cam.com/video/7iVDgymmuUo/v-deo.html 😊
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE oh thank you. I. Am 74 and I’m finding your videos just wonderful!,
I was not allowed to take HRT because every doctor stated that it causes cancer. Please ask if women after the 10 year window can take HRT. Thank you.
what are the guild ines on sugar.
Penny, who is the last person she mentioned Triny something?
Trinny Woodall- AKA Trinny London 😍
She is 57 !!!? Wow
Right?! She’s incredible.
Dang might be her camera but I thought she was 30 something
What about women that have knee replacements, osteoarthritis, and can’t jump up and down?
rebound
@@MsQ275 what do you mean by rebound?
I’ve had a knee replacement and just got a rebounder (mini trampoline). It doesn’t seem to bother me but everyone is different. She also mentioned a vibration plate. You stand on those and it vibrates.
Has the lady in the video did PS? Not to undermine hrt and other stuff, it’s just PS can do so much
I’m not talking about Penny
I certainly don’t think it’s appropriate to ask her.
“The lady” is an orthopedic surgeon on my channel as a guest to talk about bone health and menopause.
🙏🤗🥰❤️💕🌹
🙏😍😊🩷🤩🤩
Of all the content that you have put out over the years I was not impressed.Your recommendations about skin care especially the expensive ones were over the top. This podcast today changed that for me. building muscle is the single most important thing that a woman should do for longevity. Amen.
I’m glad you enjoyed this. I think you might have my channel confused….i don’t recommend a lot of expensive skincare 🤔
I’m actually team “affordable” most of the time.
Weird as she has never recommended expensive skin care. They are quite reasonable.
However you are right about heavy weight lifting.
You are obviously not paying attention to her videos. She always recommends affordable skincare.
I guess it's all relative! Expensive to 1 is a steal to another. Hopefully if you feel her suggestions are too pricey- you're able to take the knowledge she's jam packed into her vids about the key ingredients in the deck that make them stars 🌟 Hope that insight helps❤
Thank you Penny for spending the HOURS I know it takes to video, edit, re-edit, edit more... (you get the drift hehe) and present them to us for FREE! Love the info😊
Yes cost is relative. I do think reviv and skin medica are expensive brands. I do listen for the ingredient info but many southKorean skincare is on par and more affordable .
She’s a little arrogant
I’m sorry you see it that way. She is a lovely, passionate woman who cares about women. I think what you might perceive as arrogant is her experience treating women who should not be broken.
Regardless, thank you for being here and watching 🩷🩷
I see her as passionate about her work & sincerely wanting other women to know what she clearly knows.
she’s not arrogant…she is correct with everything she is saying!
She’s educated & sharing her knowledge. If that’s arrogant to you, perhaps you need to look at your own perceptions to figure out why you’d think that way.
Sorry @pennsmithscincare I had a horrible day and took it out on line
