  • This video walks you through a complete oil change on a 2019 Kawasaki Vaquero. Were not pros by any means, but enjoy working on our bikes so enjoy the movie. We ended up using a wood 2x4 under the kick stand to help get the bike more vertical. You can click on the oil filter wrench links below if you'd like to take a look. Other Vaquero videos are linked below also. Thanks for watching, please subscribe, and I'll see you on the next ride!!!

    Hello, I'm BG Rides (aka Hollywood) because I like to make movies :) I love to ride bikes around the country and everywhere in between. Traveling on a bike is such an incredible feeling. A group of us go on our annual 10 day bike trip each year. We love to ride, but really enjoy the journey and the friendships on the road. If you're thinking about getting into motorcycle riding, just do it, get the bike, don’t wait. No one's getting any younger and you're going to have a blast! It's all about the journey, the friendships, and the discovery! Get out there and see the country and I'll see you on the next ride :) Thanks for watching!!

    4.5 us quarts when changing the oil and filter. Vulcan 1700 should be straight up and down and hot (5mins idle) not on the side stand (even with the 2x4 you’ll be low) to check oil level as per Kawasaki service manual and seeing how these bikes run hot hot hot the correct oil (and coolant) levels are imperative. 20/50 is a good option in hot climates. It’s also not a bad idea to use a torque wrench when crushing the crush washer 20nm in this case and 18nm for the filter hf303rc has a nut on the end so a wrench will work …

    Where did you get the air cleaner? Did it come black or did you paint it? Subscribed!

      Hi mytriton54, The air intake is from "chucksterscustoms.com". It came black already. All and all the kit was pretty good. Needed to pick up a couple replacement screws because the ones in the kit were to long. The back side of the air intake sits really close to an electrical connector.... It ended up working well and looks really good in my humble opinion :) Thanks for watching.

    I thought oil filter should be tightened by hand only?

      Hi Chitor, Good question. I think on some installs. Maybe car engines. This one you need a little torque. Thanks for watching!

      Hi WD Holm, we talked to our local dealer and he recommended using the oil we used. I'd recommend a quick call to your dealership and ask them what they suggest. Thanks for watching.

    Always wear gloves when handling used oil and oil filters should only be hand tightened. There's no harm in pre filling the oil filter, but neither is there any benefit. I'm a bit envious of bikes that use readily available oils like a 10w40, my Moto Guzzi calls for 10w60.

    • @bgrides2108
      @bgrides2108  3 роки тому

      Hi Capthollister, Thanks for the reply. The gloves are a good idea. Yeah, 10w40 can be picked up just about anywhere.
