Say what you want about Dave; he's honest and appreciates honesty and passion. This was a great episode. Thank you and well done El Presidente.
It was good to see this side of Dave! He’s usually such a clumsy kook 😆
@@scottmcwave9479 BUT THE 4.4 ON THE PORK???
He lied and got a free sandwich out of a hard working American. Dave is no hero. Biden will put an end to this kind of malarkey.
I agree totally
@@RJT80 Biden orders ketchup on his hot dogs
That owner has to be the nicest person in Philly
don't believe all ya heard. Philly has some awesome people just like John.
@@mattmuch1 what about what i saw sherlock
He's the ONLY nice person in Philly LOL
Well he’s certainly not gonna stand there being a dick on the show, he wants publicity. But def very nice makin Dave dif ones since he don’t kno anything bout cheese steaks
@@brandonlapine5174 every owner on here hasn't been cool or nice.
That owner is so humble. Even though he's the owner of a basically famous restaurant, he corrected Dave and said it's his dad's name on the sign. Such a wholesome dude.
Heard the emotion in his voice talking about being a working mans place. And showing the plaques. This guy is an absolute beauty. If I'm ever near philly this is where I'll be going. What a genuine guy
When you do, forget Dave's anti-roast pork shit. It's the best sandwich in Philly. But he's right that they also make one of the best cheesesteaks, too (Cafe Carmela is the top though if you're willing to drive out)
18 minutes, everyone knows this is a instant classic
Nothing to write home about
these interviews are awesome
I was only gonna watch like three minutes of it but the owner made me stay
@@johnc2645 have you ever left home?
10 minutes in and I didn’t even realize how long this is from how enthralled I was
This video shows once again what i like the most about Pres - he treats everyone the same way. From Trump, famous athletes and movie stars, to working class people, and even 4 homeless guys on a bench. He never talks.down to anyone, always gives everyone a chance to say their opinion or tell a story. Yes, hes a Boston douche in lady clothes, and we all like to joke about him doing coke, but he also seems like an actually decent person.
Difference when you come from the mud and when u come from money. Humility is important when you’re self made, and I don’t even follow barstool (except when they’re in my city) but knowing his story his come up was all work. I agree tho, Dave seems genuine among other shit lol
So well said, thank you for sharing!
You nailed it. His legitimacy makes the channel compelling.
Those pants. Ball chokers.
He is a legend, decent guy.
Respect to Dave for making a 18 minute video.
This guy was giddy about an article that helped him out.
I'm sure this review will get him a lot more customers.
Gotta respect a family man who takes pride in his work.
John is one of the nicest, most humble guys there is. Gentleman. My Dad took me there as a little boy. Now, I’m 63 and still going. Best pork sandwich and cheesesteak in the city. God bless you John. We love ya!
The Philly experience at its best.
Meet the Family. Hear the story.

Philly isn’t always fighting.
Preach!
some of the best people i know are middle aged italian guys
You forgot the puppy lol
Philly is a dump.
It's the city of brotherly love, not fighting.
That roast pork was the first time he actually followed "one bite." Lol
Nah he did one bite on blaze pizza then gave it a zero and threw it on the ground
should be top comment
@@beaucephus526 That was because of lebron being a partial owner though. Blaze is actually okay, dare I say good if you get the spicy marinara, and its always fresh and you can get a whole pie (essentially one persons worth) for $5-$8 so not very expensive.
@@__aceofspades Blaze sucks.
hahaha
The owner is such a humble and real guy that I felt I was related to him and was part of his family. What a class act!
Pres - "I don't like whiz. I'm going with the provolone."
Also Pres 2 hours earlier - "Three cheese steaks with onions and American cheese."
As many others have stated better than me, this was an instant classic, one of the all time greats. Do you regret your picky-picky review?
This guy is a legend. What an amazing story. Love that Dave took the time to hear the history of the place
Most profound review you've ever done, and I hope johns business is a huge success, I almost want a part 2
Dont worry for john. He is super busy
Very.
John’s roast pork is always busy.
"James Beard Award Winner"
thats like the Oscars of food awards right there :D
“I hope johns business is a huge success”
Wtf? Did you even watch the entire video?
SOMEONE PROTECT THIS OWNER AT ALL COSTS! He’s such a humble real guy and I love it!
Women need to bear this man's children to make this a better world.
My favorite videos with Dave is when he connects with the business owner. I find the best reviews he gives, are the folks that put their blood sweat and tears into the food. The backstories are always the best. And I love that I live in the pizza Capitol of the world
I love this guy. What a wholesome ass dude. He's so humble and down to Earth. Everyone in Philly needs to go there. I'll hit it up whenever I visit.
You should see it before covid..Finally he hit a great spot..Best breakfast sandwich also, hot Italian sausage egg n cheese on a seeded roll
that description of the breakfast sandwich legit got me hungry as fuck
Peppers and egg, yo...
Slammin I get the same thing there, unseeded roll tho
Definitely better with an unseeded roll.
@@b1k2q34 yep...I don’t prefer the seeded roll at all. that’s the one thing I really don’t like about John’s (though it won’t keep me from going there).
John the owner is a damn gem. Wish nothing but the best for his place.
As a lifelong Philly guy I'm proud of the way John represented us. Great guy and the pound for pound cheesesteak king 👑
classic episode! John is a throwback and the type of small biz owner that made America Great! I am sure Dave already has the plaque on the way to put on that wall!
One unexpected tour, everyone knows we wish John the best.
John: truly cares about his food and customers, always trying to do better, humble, all adds up to one of the most likable people on One Bite reviews. Can’t be any more likable.
Then he shows you his puppy.
Deserves all the best coming his way!
One 18 minute episode... let’s swarm this place, everybody knows the rules
💯
One 18 minute review , don’t lie everyone got excited.
So funny how dave has a half eaten cheesesteak in his hands the entire time.
Exactly what I was thinking. Even petting the doggie at the end he's holding that sucker.
Lmaooo
Lmfaooo
Hahaha
This is the most humble person that has ever been on these reviews! As a fellow Philadelphian I can state, with confidence, that this guy makes the rest of us look good.
Gotta love Dave holding the sandwich in his hand for the entire tour 😆
John Jr. is amazing. I hope his place lasts another 100 yrs. Hang in there, John. Karma will give you good luck for a century.
Honestly, this is the content I come here for. These behind the scenes conversations are so genuine. I can't get enough. Nice work Prez!
This is pure passion. He’s the type of dude everyone likes to have around.
Great job David bringing this gentleman's life story to everyone! What a wonderful, kind and sincere man John is. Thank you for showcasing this institution.
Bro. This guy deserves the best life has to offer.
“I’m going with the provolone.”
Asked for American cheese on the phone..
American is the way to go anyway
American is the gold medal provolone is like a toppings slice
@Nate Diaz Couldn't Beat a Rattata

He said 3 cheese steaks with fried onion an AMERICAN CHEESE.... An one roast pork....
both were made in america
One wholesome episode, everyone knows we need it.
This is why the people love Pres: hes crazy and cocky and loud, but also connects to the common man extremely well
I love how the owner picks up Dave’s sandwich with no gloves and hands it to him but gives him an elbow bump at the end like it matters 😆

I just love how Davey gives these guys some time to talk and show their restaurants. That’s respect. 👍🏻💪🏻
What a life Dave lives! Gets to meet all these good people! Awesome!
That’s an instant classic episode
Buys four sandwiches! “Like a million of them”
One long cheesesteak review everybody knows this video will probably be action packed
Dave, I realize you can't read all the comments, but...this video is gold. You're telling the story and making this about community, family, and local history. Do this more. I'll take one of these a week over one of the wham, bam, 6.2 ma'am reviews every day.
Please. Love this.
The owner of John’s is an American hero! An army of guys like him can get this country back on track!
Thank's for calling John's Roast Pork.
JRP is a consistent banger
What a great episode, Dave. You are truly a man of the people and you bring out the back story to everyone’s business , like no one else can. The man on the street loves and respects you, and we love what you for what your do for these mom and pop businesses. God bless you
That was the most heartwarming one bite, you know the rules, ever!
This is how all philly people are when you show them love or general respect!!!
I love that guy, he is so down to earth and loves what he does.
The owner comes off like a good down to earth humble hard working american guy. You gotta love his passion for his family heritage and his business. Hopefully he has a good long successful life.
I love how they talk face to face unmasked the whole time but then go for the elbow bump at the end lmao!! Great review, what a guy!
Yo this ain't pizza clearly u don't know the rules
Oh shit, Music is Win.
Surprised but happy to see you here

Dave is the type of guy to close the refrigerator door with his hip.
I laughed way too hard at this!
What's wrong with that??
This was a super awesome review. The owner was so appreciative and Dave was as always a class act!!!
Love this review. What a great guy and story. Love seeing the genuine side of Dave a little more as well.
One hot dog, everybody knows Dave's pants ripped when he went to pet him
All the other cheesesteak places in Philly are running out to buy a puppy.
This is by far the best review I've seen. Awesome guy.
Such a genuine guy. We need more people like John
I'll take John's over Tony Luke's, Pat's, Geno's, and Jim's any day of the week. They're not even close.
One hero's journey to get a Philly cheese steak, everyone loves the happy ending
I had the chance to meet John when I went to philly, and he’s a great guy. Could tell I was a tourist, and he helped me out big time when I visited his restaurant. Didn’t have have another steak that was even comparable to his.
Not enough views. This was such a good one. Shoutout to John. As genuine as genuine can be.
That owner is the best!!! Treats me good every time I go!! I was there last year and he was like what’s up big guy
"a rising tide...asdasfgfgb bafads ga CHEESESTEAK"
This is the best review you guys have ever done. The owner is super cool and Dave shows how good of a guy he is. Classy!!
First time I went to John's he treated me just like he treated The Prez. This is what creates loyalty. Super sincere guy. We respect that here.
Grew up eating their cheesesteaks, the best. I remember his dad would get mad at me taking too long to order😀
I'm in Philly right now and looking for a cheesesteak spot to grab one for lunch.. this my go to place?
Probably one of my favorite episodes! Owner was such a humble guy and Dave was genuinely interested in the whole story of the business.
I love when Dave talks to the owners cus when you get ones like this you KNOW what places to support.
This is the best backstory on any review, this is good heartfelt content
You just made me order a cheese steak on Uber Eats 🤦🏻♂️
I loved the story at the end. I know where I’m going to lunch tomorrow. You should check out Phillips cheesesteak too!
That was a great interview Dave. Nice job!
That guy is awesome! All he wants to do is make people happy with his food. Love it! TRUE food/restaurant people are the best. Dave too, so down to earth, really enjoyed seeing this.
One extremely genuine and hardworking Owner, everybody knows the rules
John's is the only place I get a cheesesteak.....a lot of good places but he is the best
The owner seems like a great dude! Dave was super cool with John , all around great video 👌🏻
Gotta love those guys that like to tell their life story with every conversation they have with people lmao
Best cheesesteak in the city. It's a shame his mother wasn't there, she usually is. By far one of the nicest families in the city.
You've eaten a cheesesteak from there?
I gotta say if you're not getting the Roast pork w/ spinach & sharp provolone I'm not sure what you're doing, they're better than the cheesesteaks without question!
STRAPPER
After watching this I wish all the success for this gentleman. His father must be proud looking down on him.
Love it when an owner/family member talks with Dave after...the fabric of our country!
That’s it right there !
More unites us than divides us.
🇺🇸
Dave doesn’t need a belt for those pants everyone knows the rules
As a Cowboys fan, whenever I was in Philly to watch them blow the division title with 5-6 wins on the season, I always go to johns.
You a lakers and Yankees fan too?

Started out thinking he was going to dump on the place for making it difficult to order but John was such a genuine guy who really cares about his craft and how people enjoy his food. What a great guy and great review
Thanks Dave for taking the time, this place is the absolute best!! My brother in law lived in Philly for a decade and for a couple years only a few blocks from this place. I’ve had over 20 of the locals “you got to try” cheese steaks and I gotta say, hands down John’s is tops!! We live in Ohio BUT if we are within 50 miles, it’s a guarantee,no time…. we make, it’s not a question.
no one's going to complain about an 18min El Prez review.
This man has probably wanted to tell his family's story to someone like you for the longest time.
I hope and wish nothing but the best for these guys. This guy seems to really deserve it.
That’s gotta be the coolest review ever Dave. That owner is so awesome, rare to see people love what they do these days.
Dave, you need to get a folding Barstool chair so you can sit and enjoy the meal. What's the rush. Better for your digestion. Great video brother.
One great guy everyone knows it!
Im from the northeast philly lived here my whole life and I think it's the best ,and Dave is the man showing love
Right On! 👍🏼 This was one of the best One Bite episodes yet! I’m sorry Franky wasn’t there!!
Awesome guy... I'm from Pittsburgh and I wanna go there 😅
Being from the Philly area you don’t realize how many Americans have actually only eaten a few cheese steaks their entire life.. 🤯🤯
Edit: American is definitely the way to go.. extra American if you like your cheese
Not a barstool guy but as a philly transplant John's is the best cheesesteak I've had, and the roast pork is up there (if that's your cup of tea; my friend thinks it's the best sandwich). This amount of care and love makes me even more committed to my opinion. Cheers to Portnoy on his patience and fair shake.
This owner is so proud and happy. Well done Dave
