Lee Dorman went on with Rhino to form the band Captain Beyond with Rod Evans as singer & Bobby Caldwell on drums. Producing 3 albums. Captain Beyond self-titled, Insufficiently Breathless & Dawn Explosion.
Some never went on the date--on some occasions the bachelorette asking the questions had a boyfriend and was a performer seeking exposure and publicity. Some couples did get married.
Sadly the Iron Butterfly are all deceased now as is the lady Lee Dorman won the date with. Sue Bernard was a Playboy Playmate/ Miss December 1966. She passed in 2019 age 71.
The nice thing is that they all (including Sue Bernard) lived until they were in their 70's, with the exception of Eric Brann, who passed at age 52...May they all be resting in heavenly peace 🙏☮️🙏☮️🙏☮️🙏☮️
What psychedelic questions asked during the Lee Dorman segment. An elf landing on your shoulder, meeting in a fantasy land, and the like are right up Mr. Dorman's alley, particularly, and "in the time of his life" at that...
There is still a mystery about the death of bassist Philip Taylor Kramer who joined IB in the ‘70’s. After he left the band he earned an aerospace engineering degree. Worked with Dept of Defense on the MX missiles & in the computer industry. He developed early facial recognition that we use today. He disappeared in 1995 with no trace. His remains & car were found in 1999 in a canyon in Malibu. Unsolved Mysteries did a story about his unexplained disappearance.
The original Iron Butterfly started with the album Heavy.... Danny Weis (also with rhinoceros) is still alive and well...there may also be another "original" member who is still with us, but I'm not positive.
Unless he was already married, I think they should have had Doug Ingle instead of Lee Dorman. Doug was pretty handsome. He looked like James Bond with long hair!
Joni Mitchell never did "The Dating Game," but she did appear on another Chuck Barris effort, a Cass Elliot special on ABC in 1969. Ms. Mitchell performed "Both Sides Now," which she wrote.
@@DreamAuthorityMusic She seemed like she dug Dorman, at their initial commencement together, at the shows end. He's also a rock star and probably had had his fair share of fresh chicks anyway, by that point.
@@matthewmatt5285 I DO ! In the 1970s and 1980s all the teenagers and twenty somethings I was around talked about nothing but the opposite sex in every way imaginable. Now they haven;t got one thing to say about the opposite sex nor do they LOOK at them apparently because it's inappropriate. Hope they've made the right decision.
Love the show and all the old commercials...thanks for bringing it back.
Loved iron butterfly!!!! Have their albums
I can't make sense of his quote, or did I hear it wrong? "Life through a visual feeling is life itself."

Iron Butterfly "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" is one of my favorite songs and my favorite album. It sounds so awesome in vinyl.

The quality of this video is insane!
I would like to see classic Lange Dating Game episodes on DVD.
That'd be great
I'd like to see the 1965 and early 1966 episodes. That would be so cool.
Gee willakers, I'm so excited for turtlenecks.
That’s the most hilarious comment I’ve read in a long time
I love the exciting turtlenecks
Back when San Francisco was an excellent place to go on a date to🌹🎶🎸

Those were the days to be in SF ❤
Yes, I lived there then!! There will never be another time like the late '60s/early '70s in SF!!
Do the bachelors or bachelorettes draw numbers as to who sits where?

Sad that all the members of the original Iron Butterfly have now passed on.

Damn, Lee Dorman was HOT back then
hate the stupid questions they ask
Sue was a Playmate
"Life through a visual feeling, is life itself." ~ I don't get it.. 🤔
Seeing is believing??? Or being able to see and be fortunate to see, is indeed, a great thing to ĺife.
@@definitedoll Important & useful, but some enjoy life without it. I am very grateful to be able to see.
Yes that is something to be grateful for....

4:45 "I don't think my girlfriend will appreciate that". Wonder if she'll pick him. 8:30 He didn't kiss her; his girlfriend wouldn't like it.
Has anyone seen footage of Deep Purple on the Dating Game?
Who? Ian Paice? Rod Evans? I'm trying to think of who in that band might have been a chick magnet!
Dropping acid on the dating game ! Woohoooo
Seeing Elves and asking them questions on a Ferris wheel. In the Garden of Eden, baby !
Who knows what Innagoddavida comes from? ( It's a slurred In the garden of Eden, baby..). 🤣
Why not cream? Hendrix? Grace slick Janis Joplin and joni Mitchell aas three bachlorettes
Money ,time ,scheduling ,lack of interest ,etc.

Did Lee and Sue hookup and become a couple?
Lee wished! No

How odd 🤔
None of those guys were interested in her.
They cheated Lee Dorman.
And to think this was before Captain Beyond
Number 1 needs to know when to stop talking, lol
This was when there was widespread, recreational sexual intercourse going on, hence, The-Sexes-Getting-Together game shows in that era.
Who says it isn't going on now?,..lol
