  • This new film tells the story of the first decade of Britain’s toughest ultra running event, the 268-mile Montane Spine Race. The race sees participants running the entire length of the Pennine Way National Trail, non-stop and unsupported, from Edale in northern England to Kirk Yetholm over the Scottish Border.
Dreamed up by two polar explorers looking to create a race in the UK with the feel of the cold weather expeditions they loved, the Spine has grown from barely a dozen runners in it’s first year, to hosting over 500 athletes competing in 2 editions every year.
SPINE tells the story of the race from it’s inception to the present day through interviews with it’s founders, long-standing crew members, and through the experiences of athletes who have braved the challenge such as Course Record holder Jasmin Paris, multiple winner Eoin Keith, plus Damian Hall, Eugenie Rosello Sole, Pavel Paloncy and more.

Maximum respect. These runners (Male & Female) are superhuman.
