Yesterday, our roving reporter Allie Bailey caught up with Kim and John in the area of Tan Hill Inn to see how their race was going. Today, Allie is off to meet the leading women and see how they’re doing.

It was an absolute pleasure providing as many runners/walkers with a hit drink, soup, Pringles ! And cake at Walltown. I know it’s a long way from Alston to the next stop at Horneystead so by offering a bit of comfort halfway between then my job is done 👍 you are all amazing folk, can’t wait for next years Spine, The Walltown Fairy x
My dad did it and it was -9 on that morning!
I don't understand what they're carrying in their backpacks!? They're huge!
Angela White, what an insightful woman ❤
Lady at 5:22 total respect.
Loved your summary, I love my nightly fix of spine on you tube both summer and winter over here in NZ
Silly question, how do they navigate? Gpx files on watches??
Awesome coverage from the front to the back of the pack, showing the best of human spirit, endeavour and kindness!
Really well done everyone all that ran and all that ran it everyone brilliant 👍
Thank you to everyone who was involved in making sure the Spine races could go ahead safely. The media team did a phenomenal job of sharing and amplifying people's stories. Honestly, the best coverage of a sporting event I've ever seen in terms of how well you've captured these stories and let everyone at home be a part of it.
This is the art of ultra running, very inspirational Thank you
Newbie Elli Hikes has posted a video - beautiful scenes over Kinder & Bleaklow - ua-cam.com/video/kzUEGvsgZJc/v-deo.html
Wonderful coverage. Got emotional watching that. All the runners, volunteers, safety teams and media team have excelled this winter. I love this race. Can’t wait to dot watch again in the summer
Brilliant it was a pleasure to be part of it
I have watched this in tears. Just home from volunteering, I have met nearly every runner in this video and without exception, even when exhausted, in pain, cold and hungry, they have all been unfailingly polite, so appreciative of what we do at checkpoints (no-one has ever been so nice about my tea-making!), and really do represent the best of us. You are absolute heroes, every single one, whether you got to a finish line or had to pull out on the route you are all an inspiration and I cannot wait to get back in June to help you again😘😘
I love the way so many competitors have started from scratch and have built up over several years. Well done to everyone.
Congratulations to all !!
Nice job bud x
Great coverage, a very well done to all. This is what winter is all about :)
Randomly stumbled on one of these videos and am now obsessed! What a cool event and great videos
I’ll be in the summer southern challenger. Already I’d like a pop at northern challenger, and a fuzzy idea of the full spine at some point is forming in my head. It truly is a super supportive and kind event, whilst being a punishing and brutal event. The paradox is quite something - poignant, gripping and compelling. Heroes the lot of you, organisers, supporters, volunteers and the runners, whether you finished or not. Bunch of champs ❤
Thank you thank you for amazing coverage, and especially for using more of that inspiring, emotive, spine tingling music in this final episode!
Love it !! Loved it , see you in the summer 😎
Massive respect to all invovled. Thank you for sharing. (I bet there was alot of soul searching)
You’ve done some graft this week, fellas. Thanks to you and the team. To say I’m inspired would be an understatement.
been watching for a few years... this year the coverage has been really inspiring and the filming of the runners and scenery is just superb ... I'm trying to work out which national trail I'm going to do next year now....and no doubt I'll have that bloody "Spine" music going through my head when I'm feeling somewhat weary on the route. Thanks guys!! Looking forward to the summer spine already...
Thank you for such amazing footage I've been engrossed. Just in awe of all the competitors every one of them is a total hero. Looking forward to the summer Spine.
Great race and fab coverage - 2025 though 😊
Only known of the Spine for a couple of years and first time properly dotwatching. Thanks for the videos, especially this showing last finishers. First task on waking today was to check their progress. 😊
When & where will we see the highlights. I'm desperate to see the final few finish. I have watched them for days, but missed them on the live stream.. Am I looking i the wrong place?? Is has been fantastic covergarebtw. XD
From start to finish the footage has captured it all 👍…Will your final summary was something special WELL DONE 👏👏👏
Fantastic coverage, thank you!
Thanks so much for the tracking and the videos. I’ve been watching them with my class of 4 and 5 year olds at school each day. They are fascinated and I’m sure that at least one of them will grow up and do something amazing. Cheers.
It's 2025 🎉 guys 😁😆
It's a stunning story how the Spine has grown. Some of us will remember the first race when less than a handful finished so to see the way that now there are multiple races, both summer and winter, from "Sprints" to South and North challenges is breathtaking. When you add in the fact that the volunteers now outnumber the competitors you get a sense of how the race has become more of an "experience" than a race. The elite nature of Britain's Most Brutal Race goes beyond those household names and has to apply to a whole community now. Congratulations on another year, long may the Spine continue.
This race seems incredible, it's been great following. Wonderful footage and amazing how brilliantly the runners manage to speak when so exhausted! Can't wait to run it one day.
Beautiful conclusion of a joyful week. Thank you! I can't wait until Spring. :)
What fabulous coverage, thankyou. It's been a daily ritual to dot watch and watch the daily update videos unfolding with so many stories, so enjoyable. It's also made me commit to a local Winter Ultra, so it's off to do Pendle Way In A Day in two weeks. PWIAD, looking forward to it now. See you in June
Coverage has been fantastic this year! Will there be a DVD of the race?
I am in tears here... Happy tears😂... See you in June 🏃😵💫🤗
Fantastic work guys. You have definitely excelled yourselves this year.
I'm filling up with emotion just watching them reach the finish.its powerful stuff 👌💪💚
What an absolute joy this week has been ❤
Brilliant....... Just......... Brilliant.
I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to meet and help all the runners. I'm just doing what I always do for everyone but it's like I am now part of this beautiful family and that makes me feel so good inside. Yes it's hard with being disabled and can hardly walk but someone is obviously looking after me making it possible to be able to get things done but it's not as hard as the runners and everyone else have been and are going through. My friend Alan who I give chicken thighs to a couple of years ago is very good friends these days and he posted a picture of me receiving my t-shirt and the box of goodies somewhere yesterday and seeing all the comments and great things said about is quite overwhelming because I don't usually get that sort of respect and response. I'll have the BBQ going for the summer one so I'm sure I might be able to Tempt more for food. I know they are racing but it's good to have a break and stock up on protein and a chat 👍💚💛❤️
Ralph - I (Ryan) came through the wee hours on Friday morning. I was with Liam and Dave and almost fell over some of your pallets next to your house! Thank you so much for what you do. People like you make this race so very special. Keep on giving and spreading kindness and generosity. I am happy to be part of the same Spine family as you.
@OPMvmt ah apparently you are Ryan. I remember you. Cheers for telling me.very much appreciated fella. Cheers 👍💚💛❤️
Goodbye for now dot watchers.
Amazing coverage! Thank you so much for all of it. Fantastic work from everyone involved, congratulations to everyone xxx
Brilliant 👍
My dad’s on that video!
Amazing words Angela White Thank you 🙏
