- "Today we saw a piece of British ultrarunning history... and I don't mean my haircut." Damian Hall, repeat Spine podium offender.
29 year old Jack Scott put down a truly ground breaking performance along the 268-mile Pennine Way to win the Montane Spine Race in emphatic style. Taking 10 hours 17 minutes off the Jasmin Paris record, Jack completed the race in 3 days 55 minutes having slept for only 54 minutes.
Damian Hall, a class act on the Pennine Way also broke the previous course record, as well as his own from 2023, but finished 2nd behind his friend and rival.
A day of truly astonishing performances across both the full Spine and the Challenger North.
Catch up on all the action.

I've definitely had a great response handing warm chicken thighs to the Racer's. On days like these a bit of warm food on the go is a game changer especially for the people who just want to keep going instead of stopping and making something to eat 👍💚💛❤️
Big ups Ralph ❤️
@@illlli9114 cheers 👍💚💛❤️
Fantastic performance for the lead runners but I love how the attitude of the other runners is help each other, make lifelong friends, get it done and enjoy it! They are all absolutely amazing!
Massive respect to each person who takes on this challenge. Loud applause & cheers for Jack's mind-blowing performance. A hearty whoop for Damo's perseverance. Amazing job for so many reasons - some of these people are still powering along and I'll be dot-watching through til Sunday morning.
Thanks for the ongoing coverage and awesome images
This is one way of digging right down into the soul to see what is there, well done to those who have completed, well done to those still fighting
Always brings a tear to my eyes to see the bulk of non-pro runners, fighting their demons and pushing forward. I can't wait to get back out there again in the future. It's a life changing experience.
Congratulations to the record breakers . All who take part in The Spine are inspirational: runners, volunteers, organisers 🙌. I'll be glued to the live dots through to Sunday. 😊
What an update and what a race! Incredible stuff. Love seeing the catch ups with runners throughout the pack.
WOW.... The whole event.. Organisers, Competitors, Medics, Helpers in any way, Spectators... everything about it is just wonderful... and then you get Record-breaking performances to cap it all off. It's just staggering, well done every single one of you.
This race coverage is sooooo gooooos. Enjoying all of the videos. Keep up the good work.
Really loving these previous day recap videos, shows the epicness from everyone in all its glory.
unglaubliche Leistungen die da vollbracht werden. Hoffe ich kann irgendwann auch dort teilnhemen. Good Luck everyone
Lovely to see everyone one has still got their sense of humour and feeling positive, keep going! Your all doing fantastic. Congratulations to the winners and record breakers, awesome effort💪🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Runners have so much grit across the field.
Amazing job pumping these videos out.
Isn’t it just! What a talent Ryan is
Just a hat tip to the people getting the footage of the competitors while they're walking or running - the camera person is holding the camera steady (ok probably with an aid) and keeping it pointing at the competitor while walking or running over rough ground and in one case up a steep path where the competitors are relying on their poles. Bravo.
Thank you! A few miles have been logged whilst walking backwards 👍
Absolute respect to all who take this challenge on.
Great conditions.
❤❤
5:56 My Dad's ashes were spread at that very spot, overlooking Crag Lough. One of the most beautiful parts of the wall. Hope you enjoyed the view Gentlemen :)
Huge effort from all the runners, and nice to see some Americans having a ball. A long way to come to spend a week in the cold.
Would be interesting to know how the male and female winners of the full spine compared against the finish times for the south and north winners
what's a "good Samaritan act" and how does it affect the positions?
Wheres that wierdo Gary Chapman. Legend in his own head
Disappointed not a much content about Jack
I do agree. Unfortunately, limited hours in the day prevent coverage of every runner's journey. Bearing in mind Jack's impressive lead, this strains logistics further. Despite comments mentioning media "team" on the update videos, it's a solo videographer with a driver managing filming and editing for the entire Spine race daily updates, making broader coverage a challenge as the field spreads. Additional crew members would slow down video production due to file transfer times (no fast internet in most areas) so, while I understand the desire for more in-depth coverage, I'm doing my best to showcase the stories of as many athletes as possible within these constraints.
@@outpost9films you've done a great job covering this. The logistics are very hard with a strung out field and people being held before Crossfell.
@outpost9films I love the coverage but I just thought everyone kinda knew he was going to demolition the record just me being selfish. Keep up the good work 👏 🙌 👍
