‘Migrants Abuse Student Visas To Stay In UK And Work In Care Sector’ | Henry Bolton

  • The amount a British resident must earn before being able to bring a partner to the UK may rise even higher than currently proposed, a Home Office minister has indicated.
Lord Sharpe of Epsom said the planned increase in the so-called minimum income requirement (MIR) by “early 2025”, would be “at least” £38,700.
Pressed on this in Parliament, the Tory frontbencher said he was unable to give any further information.
International border and security expert Henry Bolton joins Talk’s Ian Collins to discuss this further.

The whole care sector is underpaid but instead of addressing this we just immigrate people and subsidise their living with public sector benefits. So the poor subsidise the private equity owner care sector!

Is that why there are so many of them in care. Some companies are only hiring them and not hiring brits. Older people feel more comfortable with their own culture and some have dementia. It’s cruel to them. 😢

The Irish were so sure of the EU they voted twice , they took great delight in delaying Brexit for 3 years demanding ‘no borders’ so I’m presuming Dublin is wanting to live the dream they’ve engineered for so long

I get very angry. How many young U.K. people want to be a nurse, want to help others, only to find they need to have to go through university to obtain their objectives. Many of these would and could learn on the job as many of us did “in the good old days”.
Why so much emphasis on university education? Bring back skills that can be taught by another skilled worker.
We are so short of carpenters, joiners, plumbers, electricians, farriers all the knowledge that used to be passed down from father to son.
Now, a piece of paper seems to more important than actual knowledge.

    This is absolutely true.
I worked for Blind Vegerans uk and before that Bupa. Ten years ago when I was a trainer for Bupa I noticed more and more Eastern European staff attending their induction training. Many of these were capable of speaking English and were hard woo. There were a minority whose language skills were very poor and would be a danger to the cared for residents.
After or during covid whilst working for Blind Veterans staff were diminished for whatet reasons and agency staff were used. Most of these carers were young African or Indian males in their twenties. They said they were here on visas to study. A few liked to say they were studying engineering. If this was the case some could not understand English and I would have to demonstrate constantly what to do , some came to work in pairs as one could translate to the other. Whilst working night shifts they would fall asleep all the time. A you g African man told me he spent all day on the bus as it was easier to sleep than in his accomodation. If they were studying I cannot see how they could do this and work 6 days a week. I am scared to think how the quality of care will be in the future in this country. A lot of British born people are being put off working in care becar of this.

He can run at sound speed, take out enemies in a flash, and best of all, he's blue colored and knows how to handle the females.
