I love this spot
That was a harmless ratsnake. Cotton mouth aka water moccasin are a South Georgia snake.
Have seen many good size trout in that river.

There aren’t any water moccasins up here it’s too cold. I live in Helen
When you're fly fishing and you cast upstream, pull the line in with your hand as it floats downstream. That gives you a chance at catching those fish like the one you missed. As soon as you see that splash set the hook. You still might miss them but you'll have a much better chance good luck with that it's a tricky way to fish but i love it.

4:45. That is NOT a water moccasin. Not even CLOSE. Not even a water snake. That is a rat snake.
Thanks for telling me! Either way it lived! I really don’t know much about snakes. And that’s crazy rat snakes can swim. He swam away when I turned the cam off.
@@CharlieHudgins Oh yeah. Most all snakes will swim when necessary. That rat snake was most likely having a drink, cooling off and moving to away from people. Also, good luck with the trout fishing. It's addictive.

Regular Fisherman it’s super packed here lately. Stay at Unicoi and bass fish that lake. I saw 3 8-10 pounders on beds. Monster fish!
Charlie Hudgins I bet it has been. We’ll be planning a weekend stay soon. We’re only an hour away from there. That lodge looks awesome and the lake 😍

These black bears up don’t want anything to do with you. I fish Dukes creek all the time. Those bear will walk within 50’ of you and watch you fish. Holler at one and they run like squirrels
