Man I wish we had easy access to Em Cosmetics in Europe, as that eyeshadow is stunning! My faves are the Hourglass ones, but the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Metallic Taupe is a more wearable day to day version. I dab it on my lid with my finger, either on its own or on top of another eyeshadow and it stays put all day and is just so beautiful, impactful yet not too in your face. Have a lovely day

For anyone who may still be interested in the colors of the *UD Moondust shadows* (Solstice is just a classic), and perhaps even more interested when a 50% off sale pops up. I will say that I own both the OG version - like the packaging that Jamie is showing here - and the ones that came out earlier in the year in the 24/7 shadow packaging. I have a preference towards using my finger for toppers, but after experimenting with multiple ways of applying them (including over 20 different brands of eye brushes). This is one of the rare times that I have personally found the UD Moondust eyeshadow brush gives me a smoother, more intense application than when I use my finger. A silicone eye brush works ok too. I dislike having to buy dedicated brushes for products, so I refused to do so until the brush went on sale.
I have the new formulation of space cowboy and never found myself having to use anything other than my fingertip to apply. Do the formulas differ a little between shades?
@@bums009 I have space cowboy too in the new version and also have no issue with using my fingers to apply! Was surprised to see Jamie not like them cause it’s an absolute fave for me and my go to topper atm
The new formulation is different. I have two different ones and the new one has so so so much less fallout.
@@bums009 Just my personal opinion, I own about 7 of them and I find that there are difference between shades (from both the OG release and the new ones). A handful of them - like the shade Freak - is also slightly different in color now. Maybe because of sourcing ingredients and composition perhaps. I can't speak to Space Cowboy specifically as I don't own that particular one, but the ones I do have: Solstice, Lithium, Powder Trip etc, I have noticed a benefit when using the brush although it's not my preferred method.

The touch in sol metallist sparkling foiled pigments are so stunning! I love the shade honey brown the most.

You should check out Phytosurgence! They’re a Canadian makeup brand and their Flash Florescence In Bloom collection are sparkle toppers you might like. Their Spectral Shine highlighter is also a unique dry touch product for a nice glowy finish
The first time you talked about the hourglass toppers I literally went into my sephora the next day and got 4 shades at once! Never looked back! I also love the topper shade in the pillow talk quad from Charlotte Tilbury, it never fails me.
I must had received a bad one, because my pillow talk quad is horrible. The topper is so dry that I have to scrap a lot to get a tiny amount showing. :(
@@andystpierre6086 I’m so sorry, they’re too expensive for a person to be ok getting a bad batch. It’s true that it is a drier formula, but I definitely don’t have to scrape. So sorry yours was a bust

I love my urban decay moondust shadow in space cowboy (the new formulation I think). I bought it a few months ago cos it was highly recommended by Amanda Z and I always trust her eyeshadow recommendations.
It's literally the perfect glitter topper for me, I adore it. Might be the best eyeshadow I own that is both impactful and versatile.
I use my finger and delicately caress the shadow with my fingertip and pat it on to my lid, I've never even had to rub my finger in there and the impact is stunning. It goes with any eyeshadow formulation or colour out there as the glitter is silver and the base is like a translucent beige. Can't recommend it enough.
Definitely have to check out the hourglass scattered lights when I have the cash tho 😆

I have 2 of the Kaja trios and theyre my fav toppers alongside the Artist Couture ones. I always use the Too Faced glitter glue underneath and it works wonders. No fallouts and it makes them so much more intense!!

Love this! I have one from Natasha D that I like-the chrome crystal top coat in peach. It’s kind of a dry formula, which I actually like. It’s kind of subtle but effective and stays out.

I remember I got the UD glitter eyeliner in 8th grade - one of my first makeup purchases! It was a blue shade. I wore it to a school dance and some older boy made a comment "whats on your face???"... I was MORTIFIED lol. Anyways you brought back some cringe memories and now I am 30 and you got me itching to buy that again cause it's still fabulous
idk if they reformulated it or not but the moondust in the new packaging i think is so goood. on Amanda Z's recommendation i picked up space cowboy and it is very quickly becoming a ride or die

Re: Kaja Bento Boxes, I have really good luck getting these to not result in a ton of fallout if I apply the NYX glitter glue first. And then I just tap it on top with a finger. I then gently run a brush over it to flick off any loose shadow, while holding a piece of tissue over my undereye/cheek to keep any from falling on my face. That all sounds like a lot of work but the effect is so pretty that I don’t mind 😅☺️
Love eye shadow toppers. My favs are from Stila for sure. Colour Pop has some awesome one's too.

This just reminded me that I have the Urban Decay Heavy Metal liner and I haven't used it yet, I have had it for months. I use eye toppers almost every time I do makeup, the Hourglass Scattered Lights are probably my all time favourites (I have like every product mentioned in your 5 best except the Em Cosmetics and the MAC Dazzleshadows) I also use the sparkle shades out of the Pat McGrath palettes even when I am not even using the palette.

This was limited edition a while back but Mac Stylishly Merry is so beautiful!! It's duochrome gold to pink and very sparkly 🤩 I also really like the Oden's eye "Älva" palette because the shimmer shades make beautiful toppers, they are veryyy intense though

I'm kind of surprised about the UD Moondust! I have space cowboy and it's one of my absolute favorite toppers (it's fairly similar to colourpop ritz, except with a slightly lighter peachier base). It's just so sparkly and wet and beautiful and for me, it's very easy to apply with just a finger and stays up fairly well throughout the day even without a glitter glue/primer (I have oily eyelids but hate using primer... so this was actually quite the surprise). I have the old formula, for reference, and it's around 2-3 years old at this point.

Have you tried the KVD Glimmer sticks!!? Oof! So good and you can go light or pack it on for a beautiful glow and the don’t drop glitter throughout the day! Also the Danessa Myricks liquid multichromes are fabulous!! Plain on the lid they are beautiful and almost ethereal, especially the lighter colors or put over shadow and bam 💥!!

I’m wondering how the Lise Watier Metamorphix would work on shadows to make them stay on better, as a topper. Metamorphix is the product that LW says turns every eyeshadow into an eyeliner.

My favorites are the Hourglass Scattered Lights. I have about 4 or 5 shades and love them all. BTW, I bought them because of your recommendation! My least favorite is the Natasha Denona duo chrome topcoat, which hit hard pan almost immediately. When I do manage to get a little bit out, it does almost nothing, which is a shame as I love almost everything else from this brand.

Wow interesting about the urban decay moondust formula! I wonder if it's different in Canada vs the US? The packaging is different in the US anyway.
I actually love moondust! It's my favorite because it doesn't have a lot of color, and it gives a very sheer spread out twinkle effect in the glitter. I was actually looking for something exactly like it for a while and it's the best I've found for when I don't want a more opaque topper.
I'll have to check out the liquid version too... It looks gorgeous!
M’y favorite glitters were the Too Faced ones. They were so much better than the UD heavy metals. I had a pale pink one that I used to wear everyday, I was so sad when they discontinued them. I really like the Lise Watier ones as well, as they were my first glitter eyeliners, they have a sentimental value!!! I’m not crazy about UD shade selection :/
I really enjoy the Hourglass scattered lights, I only have 2 shades but I adore them. I really like the Lise Watier Ombre soufflé but I forgot to close the lid once and the product dried up 😔 but it was so moussy I really liked it.

I'm gonna be honest I could get rid of any of my makeup as long as I can keep my Hourglass Scattered Lights. It can be sheared out so well, but also pop it, doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes, doesn't fall or crease (and I have super oily lids).

I think urban decay recently renew their moondust eyeshadow and came out with a 24/7 series, but this series only has 5 shades or something…I have never tried the UD moondust eyeshadow before, But the new formula is quite nice!

Em Cosmetics: I'm struggling w/ finding an application method that doesn't leave me with creases within 4 hrs. Tried the PatMgrath pen/topper base today and my Em Cosmetics topper still creased. Creased w/ UD primmer potion, creased with no primmer. Anyone have any pro tips? I want to love these so bad.

If anyone wants super-spangly-shiny-pretty toppers/shadows on a budget... Essence Melted Chrome single shadows are BEAUTIFUL. £3 each - a mad bargain. I bought one out of curiosity as I liked the colour and was absolutely blown away by how gorgeous it is on the eye. I went back the next day and bought every colour they had.
I have got so many compliments and questions from people whilst wearing them. Even my make-up-dunce fella told me 'your eye thingy is really cool' 😂
Did the UD toppers reformulate? I just know they have new packaging for them. Curious if the formula changed or not 🤔 But agreed, the UD glitter liners are such a go to for that scattered glitter look.. love them ✨
