I like using a max DPS blaster-fit kronos with range scripts because it acts like a bait ship to gank the ganker gangs who drop on you... Given its cap weakness and using dual armor repairers, I focus my implants on cap plus install a battery... I also carry two smart bombs to clear frigates and drones... I always fit to be ready for ganker gangs dropping on me at sites, so I also carry either a cap or armor repair boost to take just in case...
Love this vid Captain Benzie. Marauders are awesome ships, can´t get enough of seeing them in action. The first Marauder i was able to fly is the Kronos and the second is the Varghur, so i am happy with this outcome. Using the Marauders myself mainly for missions, the Varghur is really a beast, but i love my Kronos rails so much because it is so easy to use. So i switch a lot between the two. Thanks again for making this, and i subbed for more content.
Paladin is easier to multibox because you only need scorch and conflag . Makes easier to kill the 70km waves with scorch and since you should always use implants when ratting C5 you can make a cap and tank stable fit for drifter and site. Golem doesn't have range for 70km spawns and missile application is trash. The only other decent marauder is the vargur because you can track cruisers better but when multiboxing you waste 20 seconds changing ammo twice for the drifter. No need to talk about Kronos for C5 ratting XD.

I would love to see a video like this for the t3cs, navy cruisers, and assault frigs for c3 and c1/2 wormholes. Maybe even dreads/carriers for c5 or c6 if you ever end up living in one of those holes/have a contact to help with them. Maybe youd be able to have someone else test them for in those bigger sites?
I just the other day injected my way into the vargur. Specifically for pvp purposes. We love shoving them through e545 holes and dropping them on people ratting. I've also brought one in for running ded sites. I'm still working on marauder V and a couple other skills before I go into a N062.
Im quite sure my golem used to hit the cruisers just right, I even recall making a big mistake and going in with wrong smartbombs and I had to kill the frigs with torps despite their logis, Had to overheat but ive manage to break one of them, they they fell apart quickly and I warped out.
I just switched from kronos to vargur, pains me to say, but newer going back, great video. Challenge : is there a ship that can clear all gas/ore/relic/data sites 😊 those videos I would like to see, as cost effective and fast as possible ….🙂🙂🙂
I’ve been ratting c5&c6 in vargur for 2 years now and I have to say, I hate this piece of minmatar garbage. Yes, it might do well on garrisons, but try to solo a stronghold on it… last wave will make you switch to barrage and then just pray, that you somehow break their remote reps. The only 2 reasons I keep flying it is that I don’t have time to learn another marauder with t2 guns and paladin, which I can fly, has a hard time in c6 sites due to huge alpha damage from sleeper battleships. Vargus has absolutely terrible apllication on hail after 30km and barrage just does no damage… I would probably recommend Kronos to farm all c5&c6 sites, just make sure to learn you bookmarking techniques to always reach npcs with void. And fit 2x-type reps with a-type res for c6 sites, because they hurt.
The big thing with the Vargur and tracking is that you shouldn't always be using Hail or Barrage, use Republic Fleet (or even raw T1) for when you have tracking issues.
He did forget to mention one thing if you choose the Vargur. Don't forget your duct tape. Sorry, I couldn't resist lol. I'd say with the Golem, stick with cruises and fiddle with the fit a bit to squeeze the DPS you need out of it. I've never ran WH sites, so I don't know about the C5's specifically, but I've never had a problem getting some above decent dps out of them. Not elite mind you, but better than decent.
@@captainbenzie how does the dps torps/cruise compare against smaller ships? Its been many moons since Ive used them vs rats. That was 10-15 years ago when I was running a raven. Cruise were found to be more useful overall and allowed you to defend yourself better against hostiles.
Are the fits you used available somewhere? I get the feeling you completely overtanked the paladin if you got that bad performance. I love to fly the vargur. But in my experience the paladin is more efficient.
Is there really no way to get a dual TP setup on the golem? I am not in a position to test it out myself, but the spreadsheets seem to suggest a golem fit for application should work... All the more experienced people tell me it won't work, but don't elaborate beyond "Golem doesn't do cruisers well".
I fly Golem with dual TP, ballistic computer and 2x rigor rigs... Cruisers pop in 4 cruise missiles... I am considering going down to 1 TP though after finishing painter skills.

Stay aligned , upon last 10-9 sec left on Bastion module activate your Microwarpdrive just 1 cycle .....when you get out of bastion spam your hotkey to warp to aligned point .....= insta warp trick ! You can put MWD and Jumpdrive on Paladin ....on other Slavery Democratic so called States ships , no tank will left after been dryed out ? No battery.....o7 Go Capitals C5/C6 ? Carrier/Fax/Dread , fleet it PvE ! ....noone ever done it !! I mean to show it to the other players in EvE Online ! Evolve .

TBH all marauders except the Kronos can do sites + drifter in roughly the same ammount of time if you are refitting for the drifter. Some people don't like to refit because a sneaky snake can come along and spawn the drifter before you're ready to deal with it and you can die. The Golem can absolutely fit 2 application modules and still be cap stable, I regularly do Garrisons with a target painter and missile guidance computer, it's not as fast as a Pally or Vargur but you make up the time on the drifter easily. I am in a C5 corp and the number of different ways people like to approach site running is crazy, a lot of it is just preference, nobody uses a Kronos though, nobody!

so you are willing to use the optimized ammo for the Golem and Vargur but not for the Pally or Kronos Imp navy muti freq for high damage and HIGH tracking Imp Navy Standard good range ok damage and very LOW Capacitor usage. you may have skills to use the ships but that doesn't mean you have the experience to fly them.
Kronos, your best damage profile is Void up until 20km. Literally ran the math. Paladin, eh, Multifrequency is good but doesn't save the ship imho It's opinions. No need to get so defensive/rude about it 😉
im prefer dualbox vargur + golem. vargur for clear site, golem for drifter. it wasnt planned at first, i just learn vargur and then join wh corp. and all people here flied only paladins and golems))) so i was the only vargur xD eventually i learn golem at second window for drifter (ofc i can do it with vargur but the time is pathetic, because of factiin ammo which actually is t1) after marauders changes with one more low slot vargur is a king of utility. one refit for everything, can do both site and drifter with no problems. and yes, i fitted it in armor to run WR holes. like, paladins suffer hard at pulsar, vargur just dont care. and its cheap as F because only thing u need is some blue SB and 2 faction smartbombs the problem is that if you dont want refit, u have no MJD. still can use mobile MJD unit though.

Clearly you haven't ran enough of these sites. Neut pressure is an issue for ALL marauders. You have to fit accordingly for the drifter and use implants. The fact you think the kronos is some how better than the Paladin or golem proves my point you are still new. Wait for the rats to get closer? Things you don't have to do in any other marauder and you can hit at those ranges. The Paladin are superior for C5 sites vs all the rest, Instant ammo swaps, crazy range, an zero reloads. As for tracking, it's not an issue as you'll track cruisers no problem. Frigs you have smart bombs for. Golem > Vargu > Kronos.
Every single one of those Marauders was run in at least ten sites, and ten Drifter kills. Yes, you change your fit for the Drifter, I said all this at the start that the individual videos for each Marauder contain ALL that information and that it's pointless to repeat it here. Check those videos.
@@fkubtchtt6 yeah, cos if you go full Capacitor Stability for the Drifter, which you NEED to do, then you're suboptimal for the main site. I've showcased the Vargur doing the site with the Drifter fit, so it's doable, but it takes literally ten minutes longer than just refitting between the two
I guess my opinions are coming from group running them which is what should be done for optimal but honestly running a mix of maurders is the way to go for site clear times

If you're looking at this from purely a solo point of view, having a site fit and a drifter fit is optimal, as ashy in space wrote about years ago. But, you also want implants. If you're properly prepping the site and creating warp in bookmarks (like you should) . As for sub-optimal, the Kronos is the worst, you need rails to hit further out targets and it can't hit the drifter resist holes, which is EM in armor and thermal in shield. it's the slowest of the 3 for completion times. So again, how you rank it above the golem and paladin is beyond me.

Range is 70 with a range script I've never ran implants ever but you need nos and therefore no smartbombs for golem

In Wormholes, cruises are pointless. You don't need the range, the DPS is low, resulting in much slower clear times.

The fits are in each of the individual videos. To clarify, it's not a bad ship, got the job done, but others worked arguably better.
I chose to fly the proteus and kronos, because people said they were the least impressive, and I'm a contrarion.
