A couple issues we are having with the slingshot. #motorcycle #polarisslingshot #slingshot #ccpowersports slingshot.polaris.com/ www.ccpowersportsclarksville....
i have the same model as you, same color. Had weird issues with random esp light issues for no reason. I replaced my battery and did a big three upgrade on the electrical wire, have not had an issue happen as of yet since the upgrade. I have read the grounding is not the greatest. Have 5000 mile on it now with no issues. Have done many electrical mods after the upgrade and still no issues. Even added windshield wipers, lol
I have a 2019 SLR and I haven’t had any electrical issues and mine or any issue really. I supercharged it and it’s excellent. I seen batteries cause many issues, even on Harley Davidsons, been an HD tech for 27 years now and I love my slingshot
Nice SS liking the videos. Sounds like the brake switch. I believe they use a magnetic one. Have someone pump the brake while you look under the hood by the firewall. You should see it moving. The break switch has a simple wire plug and one bolt holding it. Slingmod has a manual brake switch direct replacement. Believe that should fix it for good.
I just picked up a new 2023 SL in Ft. Meyers FL. Rode it home to Oregon via Key West and Maine… So 7000+ miles in about 3 weeks. Issues I had were occasionally the starter would drag or not disengage. Happened maybe 4 times. In the mornings only the cruise control would randomly drop off and not reengage for maybe 3-4 tries. Only in the morning, warm, cold, wet or dry. I did experience a ‘Check Engine’ light once but it cleared on the next start. Rear suspension is too soft for my taste. Brakes are very soft. I was in all weather conditions from Sunny and 95 to Monsoon rains and temps into the low 30’s. Never an issue at all with control, hydroplaning, or stopping at Freeway speeds. Rain gear IS essential. Im convinced the Slingshot will be a fine touring machine but…. Within its limits and capabilities. This machine is neither a motorcycle or an automobile. People seem to be very confused about that fact.
I have the same problem with having to let my bikes go . Not wanting to but health issues make it that way . I also bought a slingshot. There are 1450 miles on mine. I have not had the issues that you described. In the bright side with anything new there are bugs to be worked out . I plan on some long trips myself and want to get the bugs out too. Put miles on it and have them make it right . That is what the warranty is good for . I to have a hour to my dealer . Keep smiling!
I like my 2023 R but dislike the occasional nuances that pop up. Same stuff as you encounter. I’d be nervous about getting very far from home right now. They should be more reliable for touring..
My esp light has the same issue. My oil pressure switch has been replaced as part of the recall. The ESP is not a huge deal because it shouldn’t cause an engine issue. But it is irritating
They have a cheap battery in their that causes all kinds of problems mine would just cut off for no reason this u tube guy said change out the battery and but a real good in so I did and I been good since I have a 2023 S I had them problems around 6 to 7 hundred miles try it and see if it works best of luck
I’d be upset too but, from everything I’ve read, they are extremely reliable. I bought a ‘23 R just like yours a week ago and have 300 miles on it. No issues so far. Dealer did all of the recall work before I picked it up with 1 mile one it. I’ve got 5 dealers near me, all about an hour or so away.
This definitely seems like the brake pressure switch. I had the same problem myself but on a 2016. Polaris service generally sucks at least in Miami what you are describing sounds like the power sports place that sells them here, so this treatment you describe unfortunately is not uncommon.
I have a 2023 R, same color. I took it in for the first service and I had them install an aftermarket exhaust at the same time. The dealer called me to let me know they installed the exhaust and all was fine but then they did the first service and then the slingshot would not start. They said they tried everything they could think of and couldn't find the problem so they had to contact Polaris. They went back and forth with Polaris for three weeks because Polaris would tell them try this, replace this, try that...finally, after three weeks they said I could pick it up. I have not had any issues since then. Sucks to hear about your bad experience.
I have a 2024 R and am experiencing exact same issue… right down to the dealer being 2 hours away… oh and when the ESP light is on I can not set cruise control… funny I just left the HD Trike … & am a lot happier even with the electrical gremlin… just hope you find an answer … my dealership is too busy this time of year to do diagnostics
I don't know where you are located but the new dealer I got I Louisville KY might have found the problem with the ESP light, we had an active code and it was the bake switch gap, on standard models it's 4mm on R models with Brembo brakes the gap is 8.2mm not sure if that's the fix, as we just got it done yesterday. will try to make a new video on the trip there and the fixes. thanks for following.
I see a ton of used low mile units. I think people buy them thinking they are going to ride them a ton more than they do, nd buy for the novelty. The couple of people I ride with have a shit ton of miles on theirs. One couple has 45k on a '21, another buddy has 23k on a '22, and we have 7500 on our '22. So they are reliable, but that doesn't mean that there may be one out two out there with gremlins.

I have a 23R with 2400 miles on it. So far Ive had no issues and hope it stays that way. Good luck with your problems
