Sounds like an amazing trip overall! Keep making the videos your way. I enjoy them. And I get the camera problems for sure. Plus, I said the same thing you said in one of my videos. I just want to enjoy the ride and vlogging takes away from it. Ride command can be a bear at times for sure. I had my Google maps go out riding in West Va mountains and Ride Command saved my ass. Interesting about the side rain blast from cars. Makes perfect sense and I never thought about that. I haven’t ridden in the rain yet. I’m with you on the full windshield but am thinking about trying a different one than the Klockwerks. Not that I don’t like it but I’d still like to try another one to compare. I got nailed on the forehead by a June bug last week. Pain and Stinky guts all over my face lol. I’ve got the manual so no concern with cruise but you worked it out going in manual mode. I got me a Slingshot and love it. I was in a coma for 5 weeks and when I came out of it I couldn't walk, the coma destroyed my muscles. I can't ride a 2 wheeler any longer so the Slingshot works out perfect

I made my PCV tube from 3/8 copper tubing, two 3/8 brass unions and one brass 3/8 x 3/8 x 3/8 "T" fitting. Ran the tube down between the transmission and towards the ground. Who cares what it looks like, it works. Now, back in the days of yore engine PCV was a simple hose running from the engine and all the way back behind the rear fender. You can still get creative and make one from steel or copper tubing and hide it under your rear fender?

We went ahead and purchased the Twist Dynamics... got an email that advised 4-5 weeks for delivery; meanwhile, I'm baking.

That's not an EGR. EGR is exhaust gas recirculation. That is PCV. Positive crankcase ventilation.

What oil do you plan on using when you do your own oil change. I changed mine at the 500 Mike mark and I used Castrol Edge 5w 50. Everything is ok.

My wife and I got caught in a really bad storm while riding in our Slingshot. It was so bad you couldn't see anything and it even had small hail. It was a real experience.

If it was good for the engine, the military would allow it on theirs check out a truck or something from. Let’s see the Air Force. I bet you it’s EGR delete from the factory.

Hey, great video. Do you change your own oil, if so what oil do you use. I have a 2024 R and I changed my oil after 500 miles and I used Casrol edge, it seems ok. What's your thought's.

Does the F- 1 help minimize with the heat?

I put the RandD Thermal Raptor top on and it mounts just like yours, the same place. My top has wings. 1 for driver and 1 for the passenger so you open them up and getting in and out is a breeze. I like your videos.

Not trying to be an ass but maybe you should learn the proper cold level on oil capacity. M any people overfill the oil resulting in it blowing out.

Synthetic oil does not burn. That's why you see m8 engines with massive carbon build-up on the pistons. Venting the trans cover is a much better solution. I vent both. Don't overfill your oil either.

Nice SS liking the videos. Sounds like the brake switch. I believe they use a magnetic one. Have someone pump the brake while you look under the hood by the firewall. You should see it moving. The break switch has a simple wire plug and one bolt holding it. Slingmod has a manual brake switch direct replacement. Believe that should fix it for good.

Way to much bad mouth

I just picked up a new 2023 SL in Ft. Meyers FL. Rode it home to Oregon via Key West and Maine… So 7000+ miles in about 3 weeks. Issues I had were occasionally the starter would drag or not disengage. Happened maybe 4 times. In the mornings only the cruise control would randomly drop off and not reengage for maybe 3-4 tries. Only in the morning, warm, cold, wet or dry. I did experience a ‘Check Engine’ light once but it cleared on the next start. Rear suspension is too soft for my taste. Brakes are very soft. I was in all weather conditions from Sunny and 95 to Monsoon rains and temps into the low 30’s. Never an issue at all with control, hydroplaning, or stopping at Freeway speeds. Rain gear IS essential. Im convinced the Slingshot will be a fine touring machine but…. Within its limits and capabilities. This machine is neither a motorcycle or an automobile. People seem to be very confused about that fact.

You may have other issues going on bud if it’s excessive

I rode 2 wheel motorcycles up until April 4th of 2021. I caught legionnaires disease and was in a coma for 5 weeks and 2 months in the hospital. When I came out of the coma, I couldn't walk. A few months home, I went and got me a new Slingshot R model so I could ride. I still have the wind in my hair.

I carry tools and tire repair kit with me. I had to plug my rear tire on my slingshot. It saved the day.

i installed a feuling vented dipstick and i still get blow by. i think a lot of it comes from how you ride. if you stay north of 3000 rpms most of the time you going to have more of a problem with it. you really don't know how much you getting until you pull that throttle body off and look in that intake manifold. excessive blow by is the result of improper engine break in anyway.

That cross-wind was no joke! Otherwise you sound clear with it. I got my KW from Slingmods as well. I’m out in mine now having the state inspection for the tag. Sun I bought it in SC but love in NC, I have a few hoops to jump through. And more expense. Good video.

I missed this video and watched the KW windshield one first. Your mic works pretty good in there although I'm not sure of your speed. I tried Apple Earpods and was just too loud for a decent recording. I very well may end up with one of these.

I'm looking forward to your take on the windshield. I've had mine on about two weeks now. It definitely cuts down on the wind to your face and tosses it over your head. I'm 6'1" and I think you once said you are the same. The only thing I've noticed is more wind on my left ear because theres a gap there from the windshield to the rollbar arm for the top. The OEM windshield had a little wing there. I seem to get more wind in my left ear. I had KW windshields on my last 2 HD's and my Indian so know how good they work. I've also been looking at the rear diffuser and here you are with one so interested on your take on that one as well. Oh, one other thing: the instructions tell you to "rest" the windshield on your mirror mount. I would imagine that will scratch the sh1t out of the windshield. I took a foam adhesive circle I had in my garage junk drawer and stuck it there. So far so good after 350 miles with it on there. If we ever meet out on the road, people will do a double-take as we both have '23 R editions in the same color with the same top and now windshield lol. I think we are the only two with KW windshields.

You seem like a handyman that know how to get things done. I bet you could put something together in your shop that will work for your luggage. What I use is just a big gym bag/duffel bag jammed full of gear and shoveit right in there and I don’t care what it looks like it and we have another leather type bag that I hang off the back of the back west bars. I actually run the strap through the bars and then I added a little bungee just in case and it works just fine, again I don’t care what it looks like it gets the job done and it’s not bad looking. As far as the two companies you reached out to for the roof I did also and have yet to hear back. Bullet speed said oh we’re on our way to Virginia for some kind of get together I’ll get back to you when we get back into town I have heard nothing from them and emailed them twice and I wrote them last and said what heckuva way to do business you got , paying customer here but you don’t want my money so I said screw that I’ll take it somewhere else.

i have the same model as you, same color. Had weird issues with random esp light issues for no reason. I replaced my battery and did a big three upgrade on the electrical wire, have not had an issue happen as of yet since the upgrade. I have read the grounding is not the greatest. Have 5000 mile on it now with no issues. Have done many electrical mods after the upgrade and still no issues. Even added windshield wipers, lol

Keep your oil half way. Modern fuel with cleaners in them will help with any carbon build up in your engine.

Depending on which engine your F150 has it would benefit more from a catch can. My F150 is direct injection so fuel does not have a chance to clean off the back side of the intake valves. My RG is port injection so fuel hits those valves and cleans them.

I’m a Harley tech and shop owner and I’ve now incorporated slingshots

I have a Harley and a 2019 SLR and my Harley doesn’t get touched since I got the SS! The SS is way more fun now that I installed a DDM Rotrex supercharger!

I’m a Harley tech now for 27 years and I own my won shop but I got to tell you, I love my 2019 slingshot SLR, I’ve even incorporated service and performance work on them now at my shop. I love my slingshot so much that I sold my bagger. More smiles with the miles compared to a Harley! Just remember , they hate us because they ain’t us.

My alignment is straight and true so far. I had my 500 mile service today and had the security program update.

I have a 2024 R and am experiencing exact same issue… right down to the dealer being 2 hours away… oh and when the ESP light is on I can not set cruise control… funny I just left the HD Trike … & am a lot happier even with the electrical gremlin… just hope you find an answer … my dealership is too busy this time of year to do diagnostics

I use a small red filter instead of a can, works great. I run mine back infront of the tranny, and don't get water on it or in it. Love the pipe plumbed shelfing on the wall there vary cool

Sounds like a good plan and with you mechanical aptitude, you could do great with Slingshots. My Twist Dynamics top arrived yesterday and had it installed by the evening. I’ll put the canvas on tomorrow after the velcro “cures”. Looking forward to seeing what you do with yours. I am eyeing the exhaust systems for mine.
