Glad you back Brother!
Good to see you back in action. I was a little concerned something had happened and glad to see you posting. I’m one to talk as I haven’t posted a video myself in over a month 😂. I put a taller Windshield on mine as well (ATSS NASCAR) and it really does make a difference. I’ll use my Klockwerks for warm weather as well. Bummer on losing footage. Still have a few warm days here in coastal NC. I actually got to ride today for a couple of hours. I’ve had a lot going on as well and also had surgery a couple of weeks ago. I did go 4x4’ing in Moab last month and have 3 days of footage I’m still going through. Oh, and I got a baker rack I’ve yet to put on. Hopefully this weekend. Take care and look forward to more videos.
Hey man, really happy you're back!!! I know on your last video you weren't sure you would do anymore because of the hate of bikers and slingshots. I gotta tell ya, 90% of my friends ride and they always invite me to go with them in my 22 slingshot. They always question me about it ( especially the wifes) and I tell them how much I love it. I'm in south Florida and rode up to Daytona for the Biketoberfest with my biker buddy's and we had a great time. Keep those videos coming!!!
I'm glad you liked the video and thanks for the positive feedback.
Glad to see you are back.
Great video.
My baker racks finally came in today and first thing I thought was to go to your 2 videos. I’m going to pick up these two additions and the button head’s to have ready before I start on it. Hope you’re doing well.
I just bought a 2024 SL with the exact same issue with the traction control and it shuts the cruise control.
Where did you get the rear view mirror?

If you are have that mutch oil blow by in your system then you need to redure the amount of oil in the system. I might suggest that you reduce the oil on your next change by 1/4 of a Quart. When you are running over the Max oil then you will see excessive blow by in the system.
Crankcase ventilation and EGRs are completely different functions. The small amount of oil mist being introduced into the intake of a Harley motor causing carbon buildup (which is true) is not necessarily the reason why modifications that reroute the crankcase vent to a catch can exist. The puff of air that pushes crankcase oil out into the air cleaner is due to valve overlap. If it weren't for that you would never know or care that a mist of oil was being fed into the combustion chamber. You're not getting rid of valve overlap in a motor that has a cam profile with even a hint of performance built into it. Add to that a crankcase whose area is taken up by a rotating mass and two large pistons travelling towards it at high speed, you're never ever going to not have oil mist travelling through whatever means it uses to get to atmosphere. Harley Davidson wisely exited the crank vent into the upper end instead of where it used to be, directly in the side of the crankcase. So yeah, put it back to stock and live with it. Wise move 628. P.S. The best thing you can do for crankcase pressure is a check valve that only allows crankcase gases to exit. Which as an added bonus actually helps performance.
External breathers work, yours is just a very poor design / implementation. Also PCV and EGR two different systems, Harley’s have one not the other and do not need either 😂
I've used DK Transformers with their catch can on two M8 motors. Neither had any of the crap blow out of their catch cans. EBS is totally worth doing....I wouldn't want what I've emptied out of those cans going through my motors! My air cleaner and throttle body are clean, no more of that excess oil drip and dirt and oil mix. Oil level is a good point but will not eliminate the whole stock breather problem.
Throw that catch away
Matching paint is only available from a reputable Polaris dealer. The hood can be adjusted along with the lower wings for better fitment. Why did you take deliver if it didn't fit? As for aftermarket, we're lucky to have some of the vendors we have - it's a very small market which makes costs higher than normal - but some of the vendors have been around a long time. Vendors don't need to give stuff away or discount in return for a homemade video showing the product. People make all sort of videos all the time - both happy and complaining. You're new to the Slingshot world - a lot of us have been here since day 1 - so most of what you are talking about is nothing new (both the good and the bad). It's a reputable dealer (hard to find) that makes your Slingshot experience a positive or negative one.
Run into oil filler hole?
40,000 miles. Buy new!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂IM SORRY I CANT STOP LAUGHING 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Fu$k EPA ..... U Need A Better Microphone Hard To Hear./;-))) Peace/;-))
I put one on my bike. Before I did the filter would get really oily and drip all over the motor. After installation had no more problems. You know when it's time to clean it. It will spit oil. And mine is not made like his I got mine from DK CUSTOMS. It has different layer of filters it come in at the bottom and has to work it's way through the filters to get out. And it doesn't spray oil all over. When it's time to wash out you notice oil spray on header. The same way if it was dripping out of your filter. As much oil that he is described it may have a blow by issue. Just saying
Hey, I got the fog lights and I have the accessory switch that I want to wire. Do you know the wiring for the oem switch? Is it lighted? Thanks
I just looked at the instructions for the install of that accessory switch. did you have to take a lot apart just to get that switch in place? dash, windshield, mirrors and a few other things needed to be removed just to do it according to the instructions.
Yes had to take a lot apart to get it installed but it wasn't bad it comes about very easy,
@628customs ok. That's kinda what I figured. Thanks for the response. I already ordered the switch. Cause I agree. I don't want the push button switch thats supplied with most accessories on the side of my steering column
I stopped mine from being turned back into the engine & vented it to the ground.
Check your oil level. In most cases it due to overfilling your oil.
I have a 2024 R and put the Thermal R and D Rapture top on and love it.
My check engine light came on so I went to the dealership, told them, They came out found the problem fixed it and now I'm good. My brake light switch was not adjusted right and was staying on. When was on, I was breaking and that was the problem
3k on my 2024 and tires are wearing true.
Stand facing away from the seat, sit down backwards butt 1st. Try that.
We have a 2023 Slingshot SLR and we are having issues with the headlights going out, completely out! And we are dealing with the same thing you are, the dealer is 2 hours away and they are absolutely no help at all! Just checking to see if you have had any luck with yours.
checked my throttle body for sludge build up, came out fairly clean on a rag and solvent. but when i put a borescope deeper into the tb to check valves, lens of borescope was covered in oily sludge. a problem? dont know but could affect air flow. changed to hoses vented to atmosphere under bike.
They make a sealed catch can, Hillbilly. If you are getting that much oil misting, you need a catch can. Old stuff vented to atmosphere. This is why BECAREFUL who you get advice from on the internet. By the why, it's Positive Crankcase Ventilation.
Hoping everything is going well with you.
thats nuthing like a egr egr is dirty exhaust strait from ya exhaust pipe this is blow by fumes and oil mist you dont want it in you combustion it will foul the rings
food for thought, notice the key fob on the center tray, i found the fob battery last longer if the fob is kept in the house so it isnt always communicating with the Slingshot. about 10 foot away is good.
I cut a small 7/16 hose and and glued it to the inner entrench of the catch can that goes about 1/3 down. Im hoping when the oil starts dripping into the can, it will be at least 1/3 down the can already, rather going out the catch can which will be the path of least resistant without that little extra hose
You could use metal screws to mount, just add lock washer
Please do a review on this windshield, thank you.
My Triumph Bonneville is so old (1973), it has no emissions controls at all. The CC blowby travels via rubber tube to the back end of the rear tire, then into the atmosphere. I must be a climate denier.
I had a muscle car for 20 years. Sold it about 4 years ago and was missing a "toy". I was thinking about getting a bike but I'm 66 and not sure long term how that would work out for me. Started looking at the slingshots and found myself a nice 2 year old slingshot S with a 5 speed and my wife can drive it too. I think she likes it more than me. We're in Florida and we're planning a road trip to Tale of the Dragon. Life is short so have fun!!! Be safe out there and keep those videos coming!
Awesome, thanks Brother; keep it up!
Good luck I hope you get it sorted out. I wouldn't think they're lemons due to slingshot sales I couldn't find a single one even last years model when I just ordered my 2024. And with Automatics in them now I'm sure people who aren't bike people are buying them. You have to have the I want a toy mentality just like a bike person to keep them long term. I think most people see $30-40k in their garage that they only use on nice days and have a change of heart. I see guys online with over 100k miles on these things.
We just did an 8 day 1500 mile trip from Michigan to Nashville Tennessee. I agree with you on ride command. My google maps kept locking up. I had to have a little cheat sheet of the backroads. The Sling had no issues. We missed any rain and got quite the tan with no top. Got the 30 mpg too.
Rain? I never minded the rain except for the big-assed rear wheel when, not if, it breaks loose. The first was totally unexpected. Since not a problem. Once you break loose you'll never forget how to deal with it. Mine is a 2018 GTLE. I'm from Center Point, Texas and drive it year round. It still puts a smile on my face.
What about the automatic, why not the manual?
Sounds like an amazing trip overall! Keep making the videos your way. I enjoy them. And I get the camera problems for sure. Plus, I said the same thing you said in one of my videos. I just want to enjoy the ride and vlogging takes away from it. Ride command can be a bear at times for sure. I had my Google maps go out riding in West Va mountains and Ride Command saved my ass. Interesting about the side rain blast from cars. Makes perfect sense and I never thought about that. I haven’t ridden in the rain yet. I’m with you on the full windshield but am thinking about trying a different one than the Klockwerks. Not that I don’t like it but I’d still like to try another one to compare. I got nailed on the forehead by a June bug last week. Pain and Stinky guts all over my face lol. I’ve got the manual so no concern with cruise but you worked it out going in manual mode. So jealous…the trip you took is the one I’d like to make. Let me know if you head to coastal NC anytime soon. Looking forward to your clips.
Ride command is great if you know how to use it
Google maps when deep out in the sticks download the direction also keep you a old-school Garmin gps. In the trunk that's updated
I got me a Slingshot and love it. I was in a coma for 5 weeks and when I came out of it I couldn't walk, the coma destroyed my muscles. I can't ride a 2 wheeler any longer so the Slingshot works out perfect
Like you I would like to see more service shops . The closes one to me is 2 hours then the one I take my to is 3 hours away -
Glad y’all enjoyed your trip. I was in Harrison AR month ago. Great riding down there. Pig trail is great.
I made my PCV tube from 3/8 copper tubing, two 3/8 brass unions and one brass 3/8 x 3/8 x 3/8 "T" fitting. Ran the tube down between the transmission and towards the ground. Who cares what it looks like, it works. Now, back in the days of yore engine PCV was a simple hose running from the engine and all the way back behind the rear fender. You can still get creative and make one from steel or copper tubing and hide it under your rear fender?
