What gear ratio do you recommend for the rear I believe I have 3.08 in there now but not 100% sure and I was thinking about a mini spool that locks the diff right ???
Gear ratio depends on what you want to do with it. Higher gears for fuel mileage and cruising. Lower gears for work and performance. Yes the mini spool locks the rear completely.
@@SquarebodyStuff I'd like it to be a good street truck I live about 20 minutes away from lebanon valley speedway so I'd love to take it to the track like you do with squeaky
3.42, 3.73, or 4.10 would work good for street.
@@SquarebodyStuff ok great let the research begin lol thanks man I appreciate it
I have a 86 c10 with 305 it is auto but I'd really like to swap it to manual any suggestions ?? Thanks
The biggest issue you have going from auto to manual is the transmission tunnel is too low. The manual cabs have a higher hump. It can be done, just depends on how much work you wanna do. Unless you are going with a smaller car type manual transmission. Either way you'll need the pedal assembly from a manual cab.
@@SquarebodyStuff thanks I appreciate the response
@@SquarebodyStuff that right there, that's good to know. I just happened upon an old 4 speed under a dump in the u-pull it last Sunday, $140. I was gonna grab that tunnel but didnt. I got 3 4speeds, 5 squares. N now I know I gotta go get that tunnel to put one in the 79 c-10. Yer channel is a gold mine sir.
Thanks
sweet
Thanks
What cam do you have in that thing?
Summit 1107. I have some videos prior to this show what has been done to it.
Did you do anything to the rear end?
Just a mini spool. Here's part 1 of that. ua-cam.com/video/osZyQ1W7kOg/v-deo.html
And part two
what headers do you run?
Just some used hookers I picked up at a swap meet
Wht cam do you have on the 305, sounds really close to a 383 stroker. I know it’s not close in horse power but that’s a nice sound
It's a Summit 1107.
