Another spam is accepting a friend request from someone you don't nor friends without anyone you know, and after exchange of messages a few days later, they ask for money ($20, $30, etc).
Usually gift or game cards.
I used to keep getting a photo of a handsome middle-aged gentleman in uniform telling me I had a great smile. For sure he was really some skinny kid in Nigeria working out of a tent.
Military aren't allowed on Facebook!

Some red flags, my friend and I shared
1. Someone you don't know or haven't met before sent a friend request and he or she does not live close by
2. This person just created a Facebook account recently
3. Claiming that he or she just moved to this country and using a foreign name
4. The name is still so odd even in that country (for example a female user has a male name)
5. The friends list is kinda fishy (for example, a female user has overwhelmingly more male friends than female friends)
6. Sending messages at an odd time (like sending a message after midnight or claiming that he or she just got out of work and it is just morning)
7. His or her answers are short but they ask too many questions
8. Saying something that is so odd (for example, you are a good-looking person blah blah; seriously it is really odd to say something like this when you just met someone)

Yes, these things are annoying. Every single day. Good list, spot on. Usually they like multiple post on your timelime all at once, and write something stupid and childish on at least one of them.

Everything in this vudeo was spot on! Whenever I get a new FB friend request, I always look at their FB profile first, look up where they live, try to see who their friends are and pictures etc. Then I send them a message asking why they sent me a friend request and wait for their answer. Most of these people are scammers. I did accept a friend request from a person in Morocco, we have been friends for 3 years now. Always keep your guard up!❤

Nice video. I had to change my Facebook settings to where only friends of friends can send me friend requests, and only people that I have as friends to could send me messages to avoid stuff like this. These scammers need to back off.

What's even funnier that Facebook scam bots is when people reply back to them not knowing they're bots.
It's actually more sad though the older I get.
Ha ha, I'm actually one of those people that actually replied to these bots at the beginning, thought they were my fans. I was too gullible 😂

I reply because I am interested in what they want and how they do it. The current one is the Elon Musk Page telling me I have won $1million and a Tesla car but I need to send them a Google card first. He keeps nagging me for the card. I don't know where they are delivering it because the address I gave them is a Scottish town in Wales.

Facebook is very discriminating.
I was sent a list of people to follow, so I clicked follow. After 20 follows, it gave me a warning, but it still gave me access to follow, so I followed about 20 more, then I was suspended!

If I try to FRIEND someone on FB, it tells me "You cannot friend this person because you don't know this person." They don't have to accept!!! And again, isn't the point to make connections???

Scammers always ask where you're located just minutes after accepting them. I use only one word that seems to be a game changer, I simply ask WHY. That ends the conversation ASAP.

Lately, there are two military girls who claimed to be US citizens assigned in Yemen and the other one in Turkey invited me.
Earlier or should I say since last year, there have been too many women who are, apparently, bitcoin agents who are requesting also.
@@gregoriocinco921 I stayed away from all of these people as I’m thinking they sounds too good to be true and not legit in my opinion. I don’t accept those kind of friend’s request instead I deleted them.

Sometimes reverse image searches for those strangers don't work. Normally will ask whether you have WhatsApp. Definitely a scammer.
Yeah, hard to trust any strangers or friends this day of age. They may just copy your friends pictures and profile to scam you.
Just keep in my anything deal with money or crypto is mostly a scam end of the day, stay safe ✌️
@@ProTecStation Sometimes is tricky as in young beautiful women will add you. They can be typing in English or Chinese. The common thing they will say Hi, how old are you? You single? What do you work as? Where are you from? Do you have whatsapp? Becareful people, wish the reverse image search can be better next time. Let's help to raise awareness tgt.
Many of the female strangers have "borrowed" photos from porn "stars."
@@StrikeDemonXso true. The main red flag is they're sentences. Like ask " how are you doing" their response is " am good. Then they don't even realize that Whatsapp gives your location. Then when I point this out , they'll give you some type of dubious answer
Thank you, I have noticed if I accepted a friend request, it sometimes does not have their names on, just weird ppl, that is how I know they are scams, and as you said,appear straight away on messenger. I just delete them.

I’m still curious as to how my Facebook profile is getting shared with thousands of people. Yes, there are lots of scammer on UA-cam that pretends to be the UA-camr asking to be add on "WhatsApp" or so.
It's hard to keep them away, as they will find ways to get you.
Just whatever the reason, never share your personal info, click on any links,
and never deal with
Never join, how to make money,
Never Join e-commerce thing that you can make $400 or any amount day flexible.
Don't deal with paying anyone , gift cards, crypto, money transfer etc.
Don't fall for fortune tellers.
Don't fall for pretty girls or women, pretend to be you friend, or interested in you ❤️ eventually scam you, to join e-commerce, crypto, gift cards, or buy her something.
Some pretend to be UA-camr's reply, if the reply doesn't have oval circle highlighted the UA-camr name meaning it's fake.
Also some UA-camr will trick you join some course. Just beware.
Always use your best judgement, nothing too good to be true. There are billions people on this planet, why you?

This happen to me scammer sent me a friend request and I didn’t accept at first then in a few months she send me a friend request again and I accept it and she messaged right when I press accept she said hi and I didn’t respond back then few days she said hi again I didn’t respond back then 8 days she said hi again then 3 days she called me and I didn’t answer then 4 weeks she did it again but still didn’t answer cuz I already know she’s gonna scam me and stuff like that also she even view my story on Facebook to which was weird also I know she’s a scam cuz they got fake profile picture and don’t really have pictures.

Thank you so much I just had a friend request from supposably that were saying that he was Jordan Knight from the new kids on the block and kept asking for $500 dollars for a fan card badge and when I didn't do it the person was saying I was a worthless fan.. and I don't it wasn't Jordan Knight from the new kids on the block.. because that kept asking for that money. I never even heard of the new kids on the block of having fan cards with your photo.. but I blocked the impersonator.. I don't mind. I can tell a scammer a mile away and like to play them along. People say it can happen to anyone (wrong) and anyone can be scammed (ditto) but the scammers are so thick. One told me he was French living in Cardiff so I told him I lived in Wales and he replied that he'd never been to Wales. Cardiff is the capital of Wales. I accepted a friend request yesterday and still waiting for him to contact me, so I have told him on his page that he is a boring scammer and blocked him.

The best way to get rid is not to add strangers. If you added, back trace and delete anyone you don't know.
correct scammer using the name of God but they are evil inside and they using lots of fb account.
Mine is set to friends only. Same way with friends list. Only friends can see my friends list and post stuff

what’s the point of it again? & why is it important? or why is it such a big deal? i think i missed something.. i was waiting for some big revelation like stolen identity, gang stalking… but it’s bored grown adults in their family basement living vicariously through people on social media, basically?
There are different types of scams but the aim is to get money from people. A big one is a romance scam where the scammer steals photos from a good looking male or female and contacts someone of the opposite sex and quickly gets the victim to fall in love with them and send money. The popular story is being stuck on an oil rig unable to get money or in the US Military in a war zone. If the person falls for the scam they keep making up more -bizzaire stories and victims have been known to send thousands of pounds/dollars. Obviously not everyone falls and that is why it is called 'CatFishing'. If the scammers throw out enough bait, eventually someone bites. Loads of UA-cam channels.

Spelling mistakes. poor grammar and claims that the FBI and Homeland Security are 'fully aware' of the so-called promotion are all red flags in messages like this.

Same here, don't know what's the poke function, but I assume if you were not friends with this stranger, they can poke at you to get your attention, hopefully you can add them as friends. Just a feature from Facebook

Thousands? Well that is easily stopped because the FB limit is 5000 so accept the first 5000 and you won't get any more.
