1. Rainwater harvesting
2. Groundwater recharging
3. Water management
4. Water treatment plants
These 4 manners can help reduce the water scarcity of Banglore. These methods are already tested and proven and mass deployed even in parts of India and hence, can be easily implemeted on a large scale.
Degrowth is necessary in addition to other conservation and regeneration efforts.
@swatisharma9006 De-growth is excellent in theory, but no one would practically want to lower their standards.
They have no money left after freebies and cut backs
@@latharao3756 The first 2 don't require any money and can be implemented rapidly.
@TellsupportTruthonly Rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharging practically requires zero investment. We have done it in our village without any governmental support. I understand the difference between doing it in the village and doing it in the city, but it can be done. Also, people will do it once they see they have no option. If you don't get proper water supply, what will you do with the crores earned or having sex. Also, the Banglore.municipal corporation can impose additional water tax, which can be used solely for the purpose of water management and conservation purposes, which will help in large-scale water management and water treatment plants If the water treatment plants are done right, they can also become a source of revenue for the municipal corporation as the process of waste water treatment can produce a lot of industrial raw materials.
Bengaluru goes virall during floods and water scarcity. No body really interested in Ground Water Recharge and Rainwater harvesting. Government should come up with some policies to recharge groundwater.
People should have more common sense first.. Why only blame the Government..
1) Replace old leaking taps at apartments and houses...
2) Do real rain water harvesting at homes and not just give bribes to Government officials and cut corners..
3) Stop buying apartments near Lake side habitats and other water bodies.
4) Stop abusing ground water levels by digging borewells everywhere.
5) Utilize the RO waste water for flush tanks instead of leaving it in the drain..
For this Government help is not needed
@@Prashanthbentley1 agreed, when the government make policies public has to follow, for example if it’s mandatory for all the apartments to have rainwater harvesting system and underground water recharge facility they have to obey by the law. We are trying to solve the bigger problems. Yes it really matters even drop water is wasted it’s wasted.
It’s a collective failure, more than 10 years ago it was made compulsory to have rain water harvesting for new house and people just built sham recharge pits or none at all. Unless the society starts looking towards water differently we are doomed

I don’t want to rub salt to the wound, however I can’t resist telling this : I wondered always why the rentals and property prices sky rocketed so much that it has gone in to the unaffordable zone. A city that has good roads, less traffic congestion, greenery, clean lakes, public parking, pedestrian zones, uninterrupted power supply, uninterrupted water supply (especially when it rains every monsoon). Bengaluru has none of the above, yet the real estate is insane. Only Malls and micro breweries can’t make a city amazing to live.
Most sensible comment !!
We are earning less 😂 so all prices have sky rocketed 🚀
Nature pulls the people towards disaster. That is what is happening.
Companies run on profit and none of the companies profit suffered due to remote work. None of the companies said our profit is suffering so come back. They are calling back due to whimsical reasons.
When you don't have conscious people at the top, they cause suffering to all. Through them, nature is pulling us towards disaster.

India has a population problem
Unless it is decreased we can't do anything
Root problem is copy paste mentality of Indians. City concept is suitable for those countries which are having less population. For countries having huge population it is better to spread out, so that load on natural resources is reduced.
Gandhiji was of the view that to get developed, villages need to supported and developed. But later leaders simply copy pasted what was happening in West which is not sustainable.
Similarly, cars are for less populous countries. In India, public trasport is needed. In India, 8% people have their own cars, and see the traffic problem.
No applied thinking, only copy pasting and training new generation to only rote learning has lead us here.
When conscious people are not at the top, they lead us to disaster. It is time to embrace that, nothing can be done
Bengaluru has been overcrowded, really can't step out
Stop cavery water for multi storid building
100%
Actually city has become worst because , no proper roads all roads are very small , cannot accommodate to current traffic and hectic water problem and pollution
This wouldn't be a issue if the city had better public transportation. Wider and more roads doesn't help traffic. @sairam2404
It is a govt created problem. Govt asked the companies to bring their employees back, local businesses were suffering.
If all companies start giving remote work, there will be no traffic and water scarcity will also resolve itself. Govt needs to incentivize remote work.
But the issue is, ministers are involved in real estate business, and if people go back, real estate sector will suffer which they don't want.
The biggest challenge with Bengaluru is that it tries to monopolize large businesses. The local politicians pushed for return to offtice because they were losing money on so called outsiders going back home.
Why does India need to rely on a single city. Why can't we use so many other cities and divide these big businesses among states.
Even if they manage to handle this situation now I still feel that in the long term the way we are centralised towards one city for a sector isn't good for us. We need to decentralize which will help in attracting talent from across the country
Already stared.check data govt.of india future is middle class and tier 2 and 3 cities.banks branching more on tier 2 ,3 and 4 cities already .so called rural cities earned 8 percent more then so called unplanned urban areas comparatively
Lot of ministers are involved in real estate in Karnataka and they don't want people to go, because real estate sector will suffer like COVID.
Companies also are not taking lead and giving remote work.
Government has taken over private tankers. That might be to make money from the tankers. This is the result, when you give everything for free and than tax in another areas to compensate.

That's probably because most of them get told by developers that "Cauvery water will come in 2 years time" etc.
These are artificial problems created by the companies. Companies run on one metric, that is profit. None of the companies profit suffered due to remote work. No company has said to come back because their profit is suffering. They are calling back due to whimsical reasons and creating problems for everyone.
Govt needs to impose civic infrastructure tax on companies who can work remotely but still calling people back as they are putting additional stress on the natural resources
Fear of missing out

These situations were warned by scientists and geologists very seriously years back but unfortunately, nobody bothered to listen to them. Irrespective of any govt. We see similar behaviour by officials in many regions and it is not limited to only Bengaluru or Karnataka. And let us be honest and leave the government aside for a moment. Most people and average citizens including the rich do not care much about it. I have literally seen people waste water mindlessly. We also need to change our mindset towards a conscious living. When I lived there, I saw my neighbor cutting down 2 huge trees (which looked so beautiful and provided shade) for no reason from a land which doesn't even belong to him, I saw people leave a water pipe connected to the tap and leave it open and the water got wasted for 15-20 minutes sometimes.
Bengaluru is 'unofficially' a hill station kind of a place at 900m elevation above msl. It was also never meant to handle such large 'unplanned' so-called growth and that too by land mafias forcefully drying up lakes to build concrete buildings. They still have a chance to rectify if they choose to and the results may not be immediate but at least a few years down the line.
its high time all these IT companies stop pressuring employees to come only to bangalore location for office, give flexible work location and if they dont listen, then give a befitting reply to the HR's and ask them if they can provide water facilities to all the employees 😑😑😑

Bengaluru already broke down with humongous traffic, narrow roads, scarce water resources, less land availability.....
Because the city has best climate
The native ppl are more educated than ur native city
Here no racism it's ppl who r fighting for our mother tongue
I will give u one xmple
If u are willing to work in Germany then u must learn German language like that if u are working in bengaluru u must give respect to kannada
India is not about only hindi
Grow up kid
What else can we expect when kannadigas are celebrating mahishasura darasa instead of chamundeshwari devi dasara?
Lesson for all states to learn.... Concrete buildings, lack of conservatiion... stop rapid growth of real estate
We didn't have normal rains this time, to add to the trouble!😢
without multiple dams in country no govts can provides necessary needs like water n electricity n food to upcoming population n migration 😂😂😂
Tanker mafia has made it worse
The effects of over saturation. Give WFH and see how the city turn to better less crowded and traffic congestion will go down.
When people think they are developed or developing accordingly Western parameters,--- Nature says hold my Goggles 😅😅😅😅
Very horrible water crisis in bengaluru i never seen in my life like this
Karma is boomerang from Tamil Nadu
looking for this comment 😆
Water scarcity isn’t karma it’s more like a justification for our demand. Whereas the floods in Chennai, now that was Karma 😇
Brainless konga spotted

This is the exact reason why we asked for water but the judgment was still in the favour of Tamil Nadu. Btw someone has to educate these two fools @@joshuagiftsoni4062 and gopi krishnan
Every city has its own capacity for population. New cities are required in India. Also limited number of cities should be there as our major power is agriculture.
Kaveri water is in mettur dam, bangalore is suffering.
I predicted this in 2018 on facebook .Thank God ,I never planned to move to bangalore due to this issue.
Its better stay in North India where there are lot of perennial rivers.
Thank God you didn't came to my state.
@@AnjaliD-nb7cr there is nothing wrong in admitting your state has been destroyed and is no longer fit for use.
@@chaitanyagupta6668 yes. Because of people like you came to our city , it's destroyed. And tell your state people to vacate karnakata as soon as possible.
@@chaitanyagupta6668 yes , people like you came to my state and destroyed it.
@@AnjaliD-nb7cr you're welcome to come to my state.
This is due to Bengaluru being over crowded..the migrant population is way too higher..spoiling Bengaluru in all ways. Lost the complete charm of Bengaluru.. Sad state of situation
these migrants should leave the city and find opportunity somewhere
@@manojramesh4598 i can tell you a solution to make that happen.
1. join politics
2. Behind CM of Karnataka
3. Close all IT companies and ask them to leave Karnataka
4. Stop enrolling students into colleges who are not from Bangalore
5. Sell/Rent apartment only to people from Bangalore
You can do all of this just by beginning Chief Minister. If not then only thing that you can do is cry😂
@@manojramesh4598yeah and then Karnataka won't ask for tax money for government
@manojramesh4598 this happened not due to migrants but due to poor planning and corruption , they could have expanded city in a planned manner but they did not and who is a migrant , India gives right to free movement, it companies don't give job for free , they give job to qualified
Yes, its true. But, it's intensity depends from place to place within Bangalore
Welcome to Hyderabad. I wish Bengaluru can overcome this soon!!
Water crisis - if there is a chip plant in Bengalaru -: it will be big problem.
since we were forced to donate water to tamilnadu,... now no water to wash rear end,...
i never bother about water ya,... i've ordered this from my relative xingping,.. from neighboring country,.. for regular supplies,..
You guys purposefully donated water during flood. You should have stored water during flood. Encroach all the lakes, build apartments on lakes and overcrowd your city and put the blame on Tamild
1. Encroch lakes
2. Exploit groundwater unabated
3. Over concentrate economic activities in one city
4. White top roads to create more urban heat islands
5. Overpopulate a city beyond its breathing capacity
And we have the current crisis.
Why bring water from 150 kms and pump it to 3000 ft ?
We had 600+ lakes to precisely address the unquie geographical challenges Bengaluru had. Today, ...
Bengaluru is not a pensioners' paradise, the garden city any more. Feels so sad to see my city being destroyed so blatantly
both parties are responsivble for this
Seems like San Francisco and Bangalore have similar issues 😢
As a Pakistani I fully support love respect and support India and Indian army on Kashmir issue from Pakistan 🙂.
