I ❤️ repro weapons. Not only have they made it possible for me to restore many of childhood figures on the cheap but they have also pissed off the miserable gatekeepers in this hobby that have been around for decades. You make great content, GQ. Keep it up bro. 😊
My personal policy in collecting the full set was no reproduction parts. But that was just me. It was easier to remember they were all original than remembering what was and what wasn’t. I finished my set before the market really skyrocketed so I’m ok with what I spent. That being said, I collected for the love, not for an investment. Collecting toys, baseball cards, comic books as investments always seemed stupid to me. So what if I kept mine in really nice condition as a kid? Who cares? Someone will always have something to say. “Oh, yes, it’s in perfect condition, but it’s not carded!” I don’t care, toys were meant to be played with, so I only collected loose, complete. I do have some repro stuff, but they are relegated to Stan Solo or Procustoms. So I’m not anti repro. You will find people like GQ mentions in ANY collecting community. I just don’t partake in those crazy communities. I’m too old for people and their BS.
Here's my unpopular opinion. I don't care about value. I'm not ever selling my collection. I wish this stuff was completely worthless so I could have everything released.

They hide on their computers and criticize and make cruel and nasty comments about this wonderful hobby. I’ve been collecting Star Wars since I was four years old in the first movie came out. I have a large collection that’s original and continue to collect to this day. Recently, my girlfriend was getting into Star Wars action, figure collection and went on one of the Facebook groups. They were so nasty. and rude to her that she unsubscribed from the group. This is pathetic that these man babies are dominating by being bullies online. Pathetic truly and I cannot thank you enough for having the guts to go on your channel and call them out. Mad props, bro.
I'm a man-child at heart. I was 10 in 1977, and it was a great time to be a kid! My mind is kind of stuck at that point in time. What you say can never change my memories, but what you say can add to my thoughts of today. Even back in the 70s, there was always Douchebag on the playground just living for their time to put someone down....... and nothing has changed. They are just old doushbags now! LoL!
I’m only speaking for myself and for what I’ve personally witnessed. But there are many folks who have shared with me here on the channel and on Facebook, their own horror stories.
I think some people just take this hobby way too seriously. They either treat it like some kind of stock market investment that will make them rich, or they act like museum curators who are preserving some important piece of human history. Neither of those are true. We're just collecting toys here, nothing more.
You just came up in my recommended videos and just after a couple minutes, i subbed, knowing youre a passionate star wars collector! Being 36, ive been "schooled" so many times by people that "were there from the beginning" like its a trophy in their cabinet. I just like having fun, collecting toys and nerding out on the Wars ✌️

Dude, you are so spot-on with this it's not even funny. I love to collect mint loose figures, so I buy only beater carded or Kenner baggie and open them. I once got death threats for opening vintage and "destroying their value". Some of these people are just nuts.

Hi new to the channel I am not a collector but have all my old figures a complete set including last 17. Most of the weapons are repro . And there we are, they sit in a box in a cupboard which I fetch out once in a while. The toxicity of some of the sites on social media is really worrying 100% agree with you .

11:40. ❤100%. One thing people don’t know the knowledge to make exact Kenner product is out there. In the mid 90’s I was on a forum where two guys were literally swapping all the chemical and paints data(Kenner)to make the figures. Plus they had the molds. 😂😂😂.
I'm glad you're addressing this. This is so stupid. It's strange that you would have to keep telling people to stop being a dick. You probably feel like a kindergarten teacher having to address this so often. :) About anytime I run into people like this, I keep thinking that they're in their late teens or early 20s, but the sad thing is this is probably coming from people in their 30s, 40s, and 50s. I always held the older generation in a higher regard. This is really embarrassing. It's people like that that make the fans/collectors look bad. I have an Endor Leia with the repro blaster. Great video! You've said here what I've wanted to say on so many social media groups over the years. I can't stand it when people criticize other collectors for having a genuine, honest opinion about something that differs from those of others. Not just in Star Wars groups, but a lot of groups. It's a problem that is widespread in society today. I don't know who these people are who think that they have come up with the 'correct' idea or opinion about each and every little thing, but I sure wish they'd stop telling the rest of us that we must agree with them. It's gotten so bad that some people who dare to disagree are getting kicked out of social media groups, or worse yet, are getting blackballed from whatever community they thought they were a part of, sometimes even losing their jobs over it. It's not right and I'm glad that you and a few other guys out there are standing up to this nonsense. Good for you!

GQ, it's all good! Obviously, you're very passionate about Star Wars and the vintage Kenner figures. Just because we love something doesn't mean that we can't critique or want a little more of it. The vintage Kenner Star Wars toys are some of my most precious things that I own, for a variety of reasons. That being said, as beloved as they are, there are several inaccuracies and missed opportunities. Fortunately, thanks to Stan Solo, The Last 17, and others thats being rectified now. Also, even though there are several inaccuracies in the line, we all know as collectors, that's also a huge part of the charm. Like you mentioned, there is nothing wrong with us having different opinions, we just shouldn't be toxic about it.
Appreciate your input. These are toys. Let's keep things simple. Plenty of other more real world problems in life to worry and stress out about. No need to attack others that don't share your views. Most people understand but there is a large group of folks that don't seem to get the universal message.

Probably won’t ever have it all, lost so much through the years but there are definitely pieces I would like so I can set them up like I remember as a kid. It’s the memories for me. These toys were a huge impact on me as a kid and thats what they will always be to me. Definitely the ones I have keep my whole life will have more meaning but I still want to get some things I couldn’t as a kid. Even now when I find them, used lose they are just as if not more gratifying and it gives me the happy feeling it did getting them brand new. Screw what other haters think. You have no voice to talk about these toys? I think your collection says otherwise! Yourself and Toy-Palloi have inspired me to start collecting again. There are enough problems in the world without Star Wars being one of them. My son is the age now that I was when Star Wars was released. He knows more about the SW Universe than I ever could, and when I think of collecting again, I want to do it with the same innocence and curiosity I had as a child - and that my son has now. I just had one collector jump all over my sales post because he disagreed with the price lol. Like seriously dude get a life. Amen my friend! I was 10 years old when star wars came out. My parents didn't have a lot of money to buy me tons of toys, so a majority of my collection was bought by me. I did odd jobs for money and bought 75% of my own collection when I was still a kid. I still have all my toys today. I look at them and think " God, these are so goofy looking!" They might as well say Playschool on them, because now they look to me as if they're baby toys. The sculpting is so basic and simplistic. It's so funny how your tastes mature with age. I cherish my collection and I will never part with it. But to say those negative words to the collecting community would be sacrilege.
I think a lot of these haters say what they do because either they sell these toys or they spent a lot of money to get them. Either way, they are monetarily motivated to be saying what they're saying. That's also why they hate repros. Repros cut into their business and give collectors a reasonably priced option and make it so they don't have to give all their money to these dealers. I look at the prices of the figures and think " My God, look at how much they're asking for these $3.00 figures." Thank God for Stan Solo! Without him, most people wouldn't even have final 17 figures in their collections. It's not always that collectors don't have the money to buy original stuff, they're actually smart enough to say" I'd rather pay my bills, put food on the table, cloth my children, and frankly, have a life, rather then give my money to money-hungry people who are charging too much for these silly things." I collect very little these days mainly vintage SW which will be my last to complete ,but I’m a collector of all 3 forms repro’s ,customs and vintage. Thanks, Blake! Some people don't understand why I made this video. I felt it necessary to talk about the virus that spreads thru our collecting community. I hope to raise awareness and invoke some change, if that's possible. In a perfect world, people would start acting like mature adults again.
as a kid i loved star Wars.. over 30 years later, after Revenge of the Sith, I remember being at Target toy section with my son and i picked up a few figures that i liked as a return to Nostalgia, problem was it quickly turned into an addiction. months later I aquired many new figuers and a couple of ships ( Arc trooper stuff) , but then I also kept bumping into this weird collector dude, He seemed to be in every target or Toys r us with a Star Wars section and new what was collectable etc etc. He was a very weird person. After the 3rd time seeing this person i put downt he action figure and never looked back. I have had 2 more boys since then and they play with my trooper collection,
I liquidated 90 % of my collection a number of years ago and I've never regretted it. The real problem was collectors who were after the few items I kept . Someone got angry that I wasn't selling my r/c sandcrawler or my still boxed droid factory . He DEMANDED I sell them both.He saw my Palitoy Death Star 1/2 globe set and just about had a fit because it wasn't for sale .The stuff I kept has sentimental value ,gift from relatives and friends long gone. My kids may sell it when I'm gone ,but for now ,this stuff stays. As for repro weapons ,yeah ,I sold a lot of figures with repro weapons but I sold them "as is".I didn't charge more or less for originals/reproductions and some buyers were upset . I never kept track of which ones were which ,but I was able to make sure they all had an appropriate weapon or two. Anything beyond that...well to quote William Shatner when he hosted SNL "GET A LIFE ,WILL YOU PEOPLE !!!!!!????" "
While I think buying what you want is fine. But when you know something is repro, it should be stated as such that it is, if you are in fact selling that. That's like selling something that you know is broke and saying it's untested when you know in fact it's broke. It's only fair. Beyond that, these are toys. People getting upset that you didn't sell them something is beyond ridiculous. Truly.

I'm a 52 year old man who saw the original "Star Wars" (Yes... Star Wars. None if this "Episode IV: A New Hope" bollocks that was added later during the re-release of all 3 movies as an all day event in the mid-80s) in theaters, and bought these toys with our pocket money for the sheer joy of PLAYING with them... and I approve this message. You seem like a super cool bloke and you're 💯 on point with this vid. These folks would have a HEART ATT-ACK-ACK-ACK (as Billy Joel would say) if they saw how us kids would laugh at stupid figures like Three-Yees (or whatever his name was) and crash the Millennium Falcon in our back garden. Christ, I buggered up my Darth Vader Tie-Fighter due to the amount of times I blew the wings off. Like you, I respect differing opinions, and while I no longer have any of those toys, I don't regret a single epic game me and my friends played with them. And with regard to the Star Destroyer playset... my friend Christian had it, and I thought it was crap even when I was 10 years old (never wasted money on it and HATED the laughably stupid "Emperor Hologram" that dropped down. And even as a kid, I was smart enough to wonder WTF Kenner was thinking, putting Darth Vader's meditation chamber on the bridge where everyone could catch him having a wank over the Jane Seymour edition of Playboy).

I do agree 100% with you. I've been Star Wars since the 1980s, and I love everything that George looks did and Dave Filoni .. But some people are crying for everything instead, just stop and enjoy whatever we get from Star Wars movies or TV shows ... I'm from the 80s, and I like the prequels and love the real trilogy to.. But I was not a fan of Episode 8 and 9 because they destroyed the image of Luke Skywalker
I personally disliked the sequel trilogy immensely. But I could care a less if someone likes it or not. To each their own. The world is too big and life is hard enough, without causing trauma or drama for other fans.
I feel like some people complain TOO much on figures. There’s criticism which is always welcomed, but to moan and get mad about it is too much. Same goes for the yes men people. There are tell tale signs for each accessory. There are certain types of tests you can do. Websites like Imperial Gunnery are great to educate folks on what these tests are and how to perform them. After you've been collecting awhile and have seen real and repro, you start to familiarize yourself with the differences. Google around, you'll get the answer you seek. I couldn't possibly break it all down for you in the comments. Best of luck with your collection :)

I stumbled on this video by accident. I'll just repeat what other people have been saying that society has gone downhill through the years. It's easy to blame social media and eroding morality for this decline but it's true. Just take a look at the cesspool of social media comments on every entertainment community from YT to toys and shows for proof. I remember being a part of a few toy communities on FB and then I removed myself from those through the years since a lot of people over there are looking for drama - people always criticizing toys that they themselves don't even buy in the first place, cheapskates looking for mint, vintage items and asking them for dirt cheap (clearly not familiar with the term "inflation") and then making a tantrum when toy sellers don't give them their preferred price, arguing about politics all of a sudden/making everything political and even people having a meltdown over third-party stuff all because you didn't buy from a well-known toy company like Hasbro/Lego. Screw all of them, I don't want to be any part of a community at this point, serving for your own well-being would be better than being toxic to other people for no reason. Let them cry and wallow in their self-misery while I continue to enjoy my diverse toy collection. Remember, these toxic people have no hold on you on what you should be collecting in the first place.

I agree I collect what i want i like the clones so i collect them but I grew up on Kenner just hate how the figures back in the 70’s weren’t articulated but i still collect them because i like the whole line from the 70’s until now
I totaly agree with you. And this bolis down to every topic. Some people vote on the parties to the left, some on the parties to the right. Some one loves the art of Dali and Picasso, some one cant stand it. No matter what, you have to show them respect, and the right to their own opinion. Sure, you dont have to agree with them, but it dosnt give you the rights to tell them they are stupid and totally wrong about their opinion and feelings... Me for example loves the vintage Hoth figures, and I know other people who dosnt like them, but that dosnt mean, or give me the rights to tell them that they are completely stupid. Non the less give them the rights to tell me that I am stupid 😄
I made this video because this behavior should be addressed or at least talked about. Ironically enough, the Facebook groups have been systematically deleting this video from their threads. Further proving my point. That alone makes me laugh.

I had the Star Destroyer playset and I also did find it flawed in spite of also having kid love for it anyway. Collectors who are adults shouldn't kid themselves, no pun intended, that there could be hero-worship motivating hostility toward other nerds just expressing reasonable criticism. Criticism does not equal disrespect toward liking the object being criticized, it is ok to really love something also liable to negative opinions. I also endured frustration with figures that never changed in the early Kenner years. They could stand improvements. But I also understand my kid self had vast esteem of the same sculpts the first 5-10 years they were out.

My personal policy in collecting the full set was no reproduction parts. But that was just me. It was easier to remember they were all original than remembering what was and what wasn’t. I finished my set before the market really skyrocketed so I’m ok with what I spent. That being said, I collected for the love, not for an investment. Collecting toys, baseball cards, comic books as investments always seemed stupid to me. So what if I kept mine in really nice condition as a kid? Who cares? Someone will always have something to say. “Oh, yes, it’s in perfect condition, but it’s not carded!” I don’t care, toys were meant to be played with, so I only collected loose, complete. I do have some repro stuff, but they are relegated to Stan Solo or Procustoms. So I’m not anti repro. You will find people like GQ mentions in ANY collecting community. I just don’t partake in those crazy communities. I’m too old for people and their BS.

I have a large collection that’s original and continue to collect to this day. Recently, my girlfriend was getting into Star Wars action, figure collection and went on one of the Facebook groups. They were so nasty. and rude to her that she unsubscribed from the group. This is pathetic that these man babies are dominating by being bullies online. I think some people just take this hobby way too seriously. They either treat it like some kind of stock market investment that will make them rich, or they act like museum curators who are preserving some important piece of human history. Neither of those are true. We're just collecting toys here, nothing more.

Dude, you are so spot-on with this it's not even funny. I love to collect mint loose figures, so I buy only beater carded or Kenner baggie and open them. I once got death threats for opening vintage and "destroying their value". Some of these people are just nuts.

Hi new to the channel I am not a collector but have all my old figures a complete set including last 17. Most of the weapons are repro . And there we are, they sit in a box in a cupboard which I fetch out once in a while. The toxicity of some of the sites on social media is really worrying 100% agree with you .

Great video! You've said here what I've wanted to say on so many social media groups over the years. I can't stand it when people criticize other collectors for having a genuine, honest opinion about something that differs from those of others. Not just in Star Wars groups, but a lot of groups. It's a problem that is widespread in society today.
I don't know who these people are who think that they have come up with the 'correct' idea or opinion about each and every little thing, but I sure wish they'd stop telling the rest of us that we must agree with them. It's gotten so bad that some people who dare to disagree are getting kicked out of social media groups, or worse yet, are getting blackballed from whatever community they thought they were a part of, sometimes even losing their jobs over it. It's not right and I'm glad that you and a few other guys out there are standing up to this nonsense. Good for you!

GQ, it's all good! Obviously, you're very passionate about Star Wars and the vintage Kenner figures. Just because we love something doesn't mean that we can't critique or want a little more of it. The vintage Kenner Star Wars toys are some of my most precious things that I own, for a variety of reasons. That being said, as beloved as they are, there are several inaccuracies and missed opportunities. Fortunately, thanks to Stan Solo, The Last 17, and others thats being rectified now. Also, even though there are several inaccuracies in the line, we all know as collectors, that's also a huge part of the charm. Like you mentioned, there is nothing wrong with us having different opinions, we just shouldn't be toxic about it.
Appreciate your input. These are toys. Let's keep things simple. Plenty of other more real world problems in life to worry and stress out about. No need to attack others that don't share your views. Most people understand but there is a large group of folks that don't seem to get the universal message.

Probably won’t ever have it all, lost so much through the years but there are definitely pieces I would like so I can set them up like I remember as a kid. It’s the memories for me. These toys were a huge impact on me as a kid and thats what they will always be to me. Definitely the ones I have keep my whole life will have more meaning but I still want to get some things I couldn’t as a kid. Even now when I find them, used lose they are just as if not more gratifying and it gives me the happy feeling it did getting them brand new. Screw what other haters think. You have no voice to talk about these toys? I think your collection says otherwise! Yourself and Toy-Palloi have inspired me to start collecting again. Amen my friend! I was 10 years old when star wars came out. My parents didn't have a lot of money to buy me tons of toys, so a majority of my collection was bought by me. I did odd jobs for money and bought 75% of my own collection when I was still a kid. I still have all my toys today. I look at them and think " God, these are so goofy looking!" They might as well say Playschool on them, because now they look to me as if they're baby toys. The sculpting is so basic and simplistic. It's so funny how your tastes mature with age. I cherish my collection and I will never part with it. But to say those negative words to the collecting community would be sacrilege.
I think a lot of these haters say what they do because either they sell these toys or they spent a lot of money to get them. Either way, they are monetarily motivated to be saying what they're saying. That's also why they hate repros. Repros cut into their business and give collectors a reasonably priced option and make it so they don't have to give all their money to these dealers. I look at the prices of the figures and think " My God, look at how much they're asking for these $3.00 figures." Thank God for Stan Solo! Without him, most people wouldn't even have final 17 figures in their collections. It's not always that collectors don't have the money to buy original stuff, they're actually smart enough to say" I'd rather pay my bills, put food on the table, cloth my children, and frankly, have a life, rather then give my money to money-hungry people who are charging too much for these silly things." I love your videos! Keep up the great work!

I’m a toy man child at heart I’ve loved toys since I can remember to the end ,every toy line like Kenner fumbled the ball in some way ,what they passed up and should made or bad design choices and opinions are like your back side everyone has one ,I’m near 60 and I found out getting rid or liquidated parts of my collection isn’t going to be easy. I collect very little these days mainly vintage SW which will be my last to complete ,but I’m a collector of all 3 forms repro’s ,customs and vintage. as a kid i loved star Wars.. over 30 years later, after Revenge of the Sith, I remember being at Target toy section with my son and i picked up a few figures that i liked as a return to Nostalgia, problem was it quickly turned into an addiction. months later I aquired many new figuers and a couple of ships ( Arc trooper stuff) , but then I also kept bumping into this weird collector dude, He seemed to be in every target or Toys r us with a Star Wars section and new what was collectable etc etc. He was a very weird person. After the 3rd time seeing this person i put downt he action figure and never looked back. I have had 2 more boys since then and they play with my trooper collection,

I liquidated 90 % of my collection a number of years ago and I've never regretted it. The real problem was collectors who were after the few items I kept . Someone got angry that I wasn't selling my r/c sandcrawler or my still boxed droid factory . He DEMANDED I sell them both.He saw my Palitoy Death Star 1/2 globe set and just about had a fit because it wasn't for sale .The stuff I kept has sentimental value ,gift from relatives and friends long gone. My kids may sell it when I'm gone ,but for now ,this stuff stays.
As for repro weapons ,yeah ,I sold a lot of figures with repro weapons but I sold them "as is".I didn't charge more or less for originals/reproductions and some buyers were upset . I never kept track of which ones were which ,but I was able to make sure they all had an appropriate weapon or two. Anything beyond that...well to quote William Shatner when he hosted SNL

While I think buying what you want is fine. But when you know something is repro, it should be stated as such that it is, if you are in fact selling that. That's like selling something that you know is broke and saying it's untested when you know in fact it's broke. It's only fair. Beyond that, these are toys. People getting upset that you didn't sell them something is beyond ridiculous. Truly.

This ‘purest’ mindset literally leads to mental decay bc some of the stuff I’ve seen people say or do over little pieces of plastic is crazy. The whole point of reproduction parts isn’t to just scam people, but help people complete pieces that they originally never could. If you mean the POTF line from the 80s, absolutely! Anything after 1985 is modern. Not vintage.

I'm a 52 year old man who saw the original "Star Wars" (Yes... Star Wars. None if this "Episode IV: A New Hope" bollocks that was added later during the re-release of all 3 movies as an all day event in the mid-80s) in theaters, and bought these toys with our pocket money for the sheer joy of PLAYING with them... and I approve this message.
You seem like a super cool bloke and you're 💯 on point with this vid. These folks would have a HEART ATT-ACK-ACK-ACK (as Billy Joel would say) if they saw how us kids would laugh at stupid figures like Three-Yees (or whatever his name was) and crash the Millennium Falcon in our back garden. Christ, I buggered up my Darth Vader Tie-Fighter due to the amount of times I blew the wings off.
Like you, I respect differing opinions, and while I no longer have any of those toys, I don't regret a single epic game me and my friends played with them.
And with regard to the Star Destroyer playset... my friend Christian had it, and I thought it was crap even when I was 10 years old (never wasted money on it and HATED the laughably stupid "Emperor Hologram" that dropped down. And even as a kid, I was smart enough to wonder WTF Kenner was thinking, putting Darth Vader's meditation chamber on the bridge where everyone could catch him having a wank over the Jane Seymour edition of Playboy).

Jerks are everywhere. There just seem to be more in the Star Wars community. Based on the comments on this video, my assessment was spot on. I had to acknowledge what I have personally seen and heard. Hence the reason behind this piece.
I’m with you GQ. Collect what you like. I prefer originals but I’m not collecting to go broke. I have a bunch or Repro weapons and I love Stan Solo figures.

Just found your channel and have faced the exact same things with Star Wars and with other lines I’ve talked about (both vintage and modern). I do agree 100% with you. I've been Star Wars since the 1980s, and I love everything that George looks did and Dave Filoni .. But some people are crying for everything instead, just stop and enjoy whatever we get from Star Wars movies or TV shows ... I'm from the 80s, and I like the prequels and love the real trilogy to.. But I was not a fan of Episode 8 and 9 because they destroyed the image of Luke Skywalker
I personally disliked the sequel trilogy immensely. But I could care a less if someone likes it or not. To each their own. The world is too big and life is hard enough, without causing trauma or drama for other fans.
They are the worst fans to deal with, I stopped trading SW merchandise years ago.

I feel like some people complain TOO much on figures. There’s criticism which is always welcomed, but to moan and get mad about it is too much. Same goes for the yes men people. Like you said , they are toys and people will get what they want and it’s toxic when others trash on others what they get. Great video!

thin things, like our accessories from then break so easy. now its aging. i want to have fun with them. not worry a whole bunch over them. some of the figures are breaking down and becoming goopy too. better have fun with them while you can.
It's collecting Star Wars figures is about anything besides 'fun', I think folks are collecting for the wrong reasons.

Glad you enjoy the content. I don’t know her so my opinion doesn’t matter. I’ve heard conflicting stories about her ideologies in about Star Wars, so not sure what to believe anymore. I will say that I’m not happy with the way Disney has handled the franchise.

How do you know it's reproduction
There are tell tale signs for each accessory. There are certain types of tests you can do. Websites like Imperial Gunnery are great to educate folks on what these tests are and how to perform them. After you've been collecting awhile and have seen real and repro, you start to familiarize yourself with the differences. Google around, you'll get the answer you seek. I couldn't possibly break it all down for you in the comments. Best of luck with your collection :)

I quite enjoyed the vid about WTF Kenner and the whole 'could have made some other Vaders' - it was just a hindsight observation, don't really see why people would get bent out of shape over it. It is just toys...

I stumbled on this video by accident. I'll just repeat what other people have been saying that society has gone downhill through the years. It's easy to blame social media and eroding morality for this decline but it's true. Just take a look at the cesspool of social media comments on every entertainment community from YT to toys and shows for proof.
I remember being a part of a few toy communities on FB and then I removed myself from those through the years since a lot of people over there are looking for drama - people always criticizing toys that they themselves don't even buy in the first place, cheapskates looking for mint, vintage items and asking them for dirt cheap (clearly not familiar with the term "inflation") and then making a tantrum when toy sellers don't give them their preferred price, arguing about politics all of a sudden/making everything political and even people having a meltdown over third-party stuff all because you didn't buy from a well-known toy company like Hasbro/Lego.
Screw all of them, I don't want to be any part of a community at this point, serving for your own well-being would be better than being toxic to other people for no reason. Let them cry and wallow in their self-misery while I continue to enjoy my diverse toy collection. Remember, these toxic people have no hold on you on what you should be collecting in the first place.

I agree I collect what i want i like the clones so i collect them but I grew up on Kenner just hate how the figures back in the 70’s weren’t articulated but i still collect them because i like the whole line from the 70’s until now

I made this video because this behavior should be addressed or at least talked about. Ironically enough, the Facebook groups have been systematically deleting this video from their threads. Further proving my point. That alone makes me laugh.

I do think this UA-camr is normally chill, but I found his nerd rage apt here, he has a good point. I had the Star Destroyer playset and I also did find it flawed in spite of also having kid love for it anyway. Collectors who are adults shouldn't kid themselves, no pun intended, that there could be hero-worship motivating hostility toward other nerds just expressing reasonable criticism. Criticism does not equal disrespect toward liking the object being criticized, it is ok to really love something also liable to negative opinions. I also endured frustration with figures that never changed in the early Kenner years. They could stand improvements. But I also understand my kid self had vast esteem of the same sculpts the first 5-10 years they were out.

Some collectors are toxic and some aren’t. Collecting does seem to attract a lot of negativity - it’s not just exclusive to Star Wars sadly.
I have heard that it has spread thru more than just SW. But from what I gather, the Star Wars community is without a doubt the worst of the worst.
