Absolutely outstanding! Stan Solo is a legend. To keep the Kenner vibes flowing is pure magic. I’m as jazzed as you are GQ. The quality is unreal and those card backs….. straight outta the toy store from the early 80’s, ya know. Loving it.
I prefer the POTF carded version of Luke simply because the racetrack on the ESB carded version has a pinkish tint to it as is with the Oola, Slave Leia and Boba Fett ROTJ cards. A little disappointed in the card quality for $60 a piece. The Original Kenner MOC’s are more white on the racetrack, compare and you will see. So they don’t fit quite seemlessly into a vintage MOC collection. That is my only quality issue with the carded versions otherwise these are home run’s all the way! If Stan Solo or Replcator Boxes can just get the pinkish tint corrected to white to match the originals, Holy Buckets!!!
Man, I'll have to take your word for it. I haven't looked or cared to look that hard. For me knowing that these are customs is obvious and the rest is negotiable. Either way, I personally think these look awesome.
@@GQJedi They absolutely are awesome and way better than anything Hasbro is putting out. I think it’s just something as simple as a C,M,Y,K printer calibration or backing off the Magenta a little. I’m a retired Xerox Color Printer Technician so I probably notice this stuff more than most. Keep up the Great Videos, always good entertainment for Saturday mornings!!!

No wrong can Stan Solo do!! Those figures are absolutely amazing!! I would also purchase the figures on both cards and loose as well. Both cardbacks are absolutely gorgeous, but the Empire cards are the ones for me. I always feel like a seven years old kid again when looking at those Empire cardbacks. You're the man, GQ! MTFBWY!!
I dont know how it happened, but somehow John at SS had one carded Iconicon Boba Fett left over, or maybe it was a return, I dunno..but I jumped at it...I had a loose one, and I hemmed and hawed when it came in a couple of years ago...and Ive kicked myself since..and I dont want to pay 250+ for a second hand one. I LOVE that 70's-style colour-explosion disco cardback..its like every arcade or roller-skating arena I ever went to! Now waiting on that R4-M9 to go with my Rebel Fleet Trooper!!!...I dont normally buy Non-Imps..but Im having 1977 retro-feelings for a time when we craved ANYTHING Star Wars!
You're right - Dagobah Luke is one we've always wanted & needed. I was happy to see this one get released by SS and scooped him up as soon as he was available. Seeing both of your MOCs though, I'm thinking I should have snagged those as well as they are exceptional! 🤯. They're both beautiful in their own ways. The POTF cards always are impressive to look at, but I do think I prefer the ESB card personally for Luke. The RH Vader is rad with it's 2-pc soft goods & classic sculpt. SS did a great job on this one. Totally looks the part. I love it! Red Saber is 🔥 The MOCs for Vader are badass! I do like the POTF better in this instance too. Great pick ups GQ. I think I may need to grab some SS MOCs after seeing these in your vid. Epic!
So happy that Stan Solo offered both figures on both cardbacks. People like me didn’t need to make the hard decision then! LOL. Both figures are worthy of pickup up. There’s no denying it.
Awesome figures! General Lando was one of my favorites also. It was something about the color of the outfit. Similar to how if felt with the Adam figure from MOTU.
I know these guys aren’t geared up for this, but we badly need vehicles . The shuttle Tydruim, and concept vehicles would be a great addition to any collection. ( I know the shuttle was released but the prices for it are crazy ) but the troop transport shuttle oh that would be glorious

Stan Solo does great work. Really captures the spirit of the Kenner line. *Hope this isn't annoying, but had this Darth Vader come out in the early 80's I'd have so customed him into a Mazmeron (had to look that name up) figure. I'm gonna have to go back and review what other Pac Land/Sat morning characters could've been doable customs for me back then.
Nice-looking figures! May have to get both (loose) for myself - even though I’m not a custom figure collector - I do own the SSC Han Stormtrooper Disguise and Slave Leia. I consider both figures essential to the original Kenner SW lines (both should’ve been produced at the time). Vader, does look most impressive; with his removable helmet, appropriately bulked-up physique, soft goods, and RED (not orange) lightsaber. Very glad that original (ugly-looking) channel, gouged in his arm (that the lightsaber traveled through to extend out the hand) has been done away with. Also, I like the new skin tone for Luke - a more ruddy complexion compared to the paler Kenner Bespin Luke - good - now young Skywalker looks hot and flushed from his recent (punishing) Jedi training.
Still waiting on my Vader. I hope it actually arrives someday. I guess if I had enough clout I would have mine. The video was good until the not-so-special edition footage at the end.
How these figures are made so vintage like, awesome! And how they are nicely sealed to the cardback. I love the work Stan Solo does, but I have a question. Is there any similarity between Stan Solo and The Fans Strike back? A long while ago I ordered some telescoping lightsabers from TFSB and they have sold vintage like action figures. There was a Bantha project too. So I am a little bit confused about it. Anyway: nice vid GQJ and enjoy these beautiful creations by Stan Solo, carded and loose 😊
Stan Solo is a separate company from TFSB. There was a lot of confusion about the two. Too much drama to type out here but I would never order from TFSB. With Stan Solo, you know that you will get your toy and it will be of the highest quality next to Kenner.

The helmet less D.V is a figure I have had in mind doing my self for a while now, using the head of a rancor keeper. Never put that mind into work though. 😄

These figures look awesome, but I think my favorite is Darth Vader. I agree, I like the POTF card better. Those are nice boxes, they would be great for your original carded figures (for storage/protection, etc.). :) Thanks for the video

By the time the POTF line came out, Star Wars had become really passé with the kids and collectors.. it barely registered on my radar in 1985.. I wish I’d gone out and bought a pile of MOC Imp Gunners mind...but they don’t scream “SW” like the original cardbacks do.

We now need a Luke in Darth Vader removable helmet costume like we saw him in the vision quest the character had on Dagobah.
I somehow doubt that figure will ever be a reality. But a guy can dream! Meantime, I’ll be happy with what we got.
