Recently I've been hearing these sort of noises in the evening while I'm feeding Niam, seemingly not far away in the direction of the park at the end of the road. He doesn't seem remotely interested in them. I think I associated them with mating before, and used to hear much more of this when the house next door was a building site and a fox couple lived there.
Last Sunday I saw a fox by the park again, who's put on a bit of weight since I last one scrawny fox there a month back. He stayed and watched me for quite a while. I've a feeling this might be Niam's brother who's been showing up slightly more than before (though still not much), he might have some idea who I am by this point, but he's so incredibly suspicious and wild, which is good in a way.
