- To promote his upcoming 7th Anniversary Special, Dave walks from his Late Night studio to the Live-at-Five set across the hall to be interviewed by Jack Cafferty. Here's a split-screen of both broadcasts: Late Night as it aired seven hours later at 12:34 am is on the left (both video and audio), and Live at Five as it aired live at 5:34 PM is on the right (again, both video and audio).
Then the first few minutes into the next Late Night act.
Brilliant idea to do this on split screen.
Brilliant presentation of both shows. Thank you!
Kudos to Jack, who handled Dave well, like a master actually. Well done. Excellent interviewer. They had great chemistry.
Shows mutually enhancing each other's value..... great job!
Beautiful Don! Lots of different angles/camera shots! mind-boggling.
Masterfully done. Great to see Sue completely broken down to the bones there at the end.
Great to see both sides of this. Good job on putting it together.
David Letterman is an institution. Brilliant TV . what a master.
NICELY EDITED, DON. Bravo!
great stuff!
Well I've now lived long enough to see a TV figure that makes Abe Vigoda seem like an scintillating dynamo.
The former studio where Johnny Carson broacasted the Tonight Show in the NYC years. (1962-1970). Then became the WNBC news studio, now it is the Jimmy Fallon studio. What is really interesting is the Fallon studio is set up almost exactly as the old Carson set up, with the home desk in almost exactly the same space.
Well done and interesting.
Brilliant

Dave was so awesome!
Cool!! Great job!
amazing! one of the best letterman videos i have ever seen! thank you very much!
Now we know which NBC affiliate this was on. WNBC Channel 4, National Broadcasting Company O&O in New York. 😌😂
I remember watching live at five always hoping Letterman was going to pop in. What now passes as late night entertainment television in comparison is a joke. Looking forward to the next video.
