    I really...really...liked this. What a great way to see and understand Ghost Insides setup. Super kewl fellas. And of course, you are a great presenter of information. I have to say tho, I used to not like your videos. And that was due to what I thought was an arrogance about you. This is really where I am thankful that I continued to follow you. I truly enjoy listening to you talk and talk about the things that you feel are important and what we want to hear. Great stuff good sir! Good day!

    I own the Helix Floor and the Fractal FM9 Turbo; love both, for very different reasons. Could not get into the Kemper, and wasn't a fan of the Quad Cortex at launch. Seeing a lot of touring musicians running the QC now and wondering what the appeal is for them; feels like I'm missing something when it comes to the QC. The FM9 feels near perfect, both in tone and form factor. Best rig I've ever owned; most of the power of the Axe III, even more portable than the Helix. The FM9, with a single Mission pedal, a Digitech Drop to take the DSP load off the FM9 when running drop tunings, and a Trailer Trash pedalboard is near end-game for me.

    • @wheresallthezombies
      @wheresallthezombies Рік тому +2

      Nueral is really good but they promised things they couldn’t bring to reality. The plugins are amazing. I haven’t played the QC but Ide hope it would be as good as the plugins.
      With that said… Ide still rather have an fm9. I had an axe fx ultra and one of the later versions of the 2. Actually miss them. They were fun. The 3 seems fun but might be overkill for what I need.

    • @Silverjerk
      @Silverjerk Рік тому +1

      @@wheresallthezombies I owned an Ultra as well, but skipped the II and bought into the Helix ecosystem. Was happy for a very long time using 3rd Party IRs, but when I heard the tones on the Axe III I was sold. Like you the full rack is just too much for my needs; the FM9 is an amazing unit and really is the near-perfect solution for probably 90% of players. I also love Neurals plugins and use them all the time for recording; I thought the QC was going to blow me away based on the quality of the plug-in tones Neural put out, but was just missing too much for a regular gigging musician. That said, maybe if you’re in an original band and just need a few tones and a few good captures of your real amps it works well. Just wasn’t for me.

    • @wheresallthezombies
      @wheresallthezombies Рік тому

      @@Silverjerk the new cab section of the helix stuff is crazy good. It definitely made the helix level up.

    • @Silverjerk
      @Silverjerk Рік тому +1

      @@wheresallthezombies and that’s why I kept the Helix after buying the FM9. Gives me a lot of diversity in tone. I still use Helix Native for recording as well. I think anyone would be more than happy running the Helix as their live rig. My preference for the FM9 has more to do with my particular tonal needs; I’m running mostly high gain with very little effects, making the FM9 very fire and forget for me.

    • @wheresallthezombies
      @wheresallthezombies Рік тому +1

      @@Silverjerk oh nice. Helix native is what I have too. It’s great. I’ll get an fm9 at some point. I actually play post rock and post metal so I use too many effects. Lol. It’d be fun though to use it for the amp models and some effects while also building a pedalboard around it.
      Apparently Devin Townsend uses axe 3 and helix live. He comes out and does an ambient looping intro with the helix then axe 3 for everything else

    Can't go wrong with a Sterling Bass. Paid $749 for my Ray34 in firemist silver. Bought it to match my Cutlass CT50 HSS in the same bitch'n color. All the new 1000 series from ESP/LTD have stainless frets too. The te1000 black blast I grabbed when they first came out last year is killer! It's in every way the opposite of my '87 Eclipse NT in pearl white, except brand and body shape. Now I have 2 tricked out metal T's from LTD. But when it comes to LesPauls, I prefer the real deal. Gibsons don't appeal to me, but some of the new Epiphones are an excellent value. The '59 standard outfit in ASFB and the AJ sig. with "The Berserker" art, have found their way into my collection. Soo many great guitars being produced for under $1299 nowadays. It's hard to justify spending 3 times more to get the big brothers name on the headstock. I'd rather have 6 great guitars, than 2 maybe slightly possibly but probably not better ones.
