      I agree. They put so
      much more effort in :
      lighting, costumes,
      stories, sets.,
      locations, characters,
      humour....
      And stars had more
      individuality : nowadays
      they seem so much the
      same( especially the
      ladies), that you can't
      " Tell t'other from which " !
      📽️ I like to put " captions "
      on, to read the
      amusing mistakes
      from " auto -generated" .
      First few minutes :
      1) Fred : " I wont be
      hearing music like that
      after tonight.."
      Carole : " why , are you
      leaving Paramount ?"
      ( Panama ).
      N.B., it's a Paramount
      film 😊).
      2) F: " I'm going to Europe"
( should have read " New
      York " )
      C : "Well, I hope you have
      better luck in New York
      than I did " ....
      3) Carole " do I look
      like the mankind ?"
      (should read, " the
      marrying kind " ).
      Enjoy ! 😊.There are
      sure to be plenty
      more gentle
      chuckles...😊.

In case some of you missed it, the "Panamanian" man who sat down next to Lombard at the bar wanting to dance with her was a very young Anthony Quinn, and speaking perfect Spanish! (Probably because his mother was Mexican). I believe this is the only time he spoke Spanish in a film, he is credited as "The Don". Dorothy L'Amour is here in an out of character but juicey part ( as a bad girl)this just before she became a star with the first Hope / Crosby "Road Picture", and a young Lee Bowman ( without his moustache) in an uncredited part but with one line "What does he got that I don't?" as a patron in the first scene of the"El Greco Club". Fun to see these stars just before they made it big.

      Anthony Quinn wasn't
in the credits at the start
of the film, so it was a
      surprise to see him at
the bar , trying to pick
      up Carole.😊.
I thought, " Hey, is that....?"
looked it up on the Net.
      Yes, isn't it interesting
to see big stars in the
      earlier days of their
      careers. 😊📽️🦉🇺🇲

This is a fabulous film, Lombard is gorgeous and ‘shiny’-new, great Acting, charming settings (and costumes), an engaging storyline, music that readily does that thrill Me!

Please post "True Confession" (1937), if you can find it. It's such a shame Paramount has let these films languish. They all should be available for download!

Unfortunately, the sound quality was terrible and there were no closed captions, not even auto-generated ones. Gave up after a few minutes.

Put Anthony Quinn in the main credits, watch your audience numbers go up. Much more interesting to watch than Fred MacMurray

      Oh. " pipfox " !
      Fred McMurray is
      always good.😊🇺🇲
      I know who I prefer!
      Fred was funny in
      " Too Many Husbands",
      when trying to out-do
      Henry, to impress
      Jean Arthur.😊📽️
