I’ve been loving these topics you’ve been talking about not enough content creators talk about this sort of thing and it’s inspired me to tackle my huge backlog I’ve been leaving on the back burner for a while
Really like your recent approach to content, I personally have been dealing with the backlog for a few years now and I just learned to enjoy the entire journey and it really helped me to not be overconsumed by FOMO. Great video as always :)
Great video, I always liked managing my backlog and recording and writing about my experiences in gaming, it is really fun to go back to and relive those moments again.
Hey BBK, just wanna note that these subject line videos have been amazing to watch whilst I wind down! Thanks for everything you're doing, it's not going unnoticed! Keep crushing it :)
This video has a really meaningful message. I'm exactly in my late 30th and try to declutter my life. A house full of stuff and family, an attic full of stuff I didn't check in years, a garage which isn't suited to hold a car anymore due to more stuff and on top of that my Backlog in steam and gog alone goes into hundreds of games 🤣 So decluttering is of utmost importance to me! Earned you a sub and a lot of respect from my side!
Man, I've man following your channel for a while now, and I gotta say it has become a favorite of mine. I love the perspective you bring into playing games, from a personal growth perspective while giving us positive vibes. I personally think we need more channels like yours! Now I'll go to set up my backlog straight!
I think the appreciation part is extremely important and not always brought up when talking about backlog videos. I honestly think reflecting on a gaming experience is super valuable, at least for me. It helps cement the positive memories. I recently started writing reviews. Its nice to go back and see them and remember those emotions I felt playing those games. Also reviews are just helpful in general (when they are real). Its a win for everyone.
I've done something similar to Backloggd with my Steam library. I created a series of collections: Playing, Paused, To-Play, Played, and Dropped. I also used empty space characters to list them in that exact order. Using these lists, and getting a Steam Deck, has helped me a ton with tackling my backlog. I also recommend creating a favorites list and using it often. I'll definitely check out Backloggd, though, since it looks cool. Great video!
I use google sheets to make my own backlog and has worked for me significantly. If you’ve got a ton of games (I have 174 waiting to be played because of my steam library being so big + family sharing with friends) and you can’t decide on what to play, you can always use a random number generator to pick what you want to play. The feeling of getting lucky and not knowing what you’re gonna play even though you’ve probably seen some screenshots or a trailer for the game you’re playing is something special and gets you excited. I may actually try backlogd myself in the future. Great video!
It’s kinda harder to do it now that I work a full time job after all in my early 20s working part time 😭 now on the weekdays I usually play for two hours then on the weekends it’s usually longer. I’m only 28, it feels like I got zero time to game now. At least this year so far I was able to beat around 20 games.
Personally I use HLTB to catalogue all my games, couldn't imagine not using a tool like this when you have a mix of physical and digital games across possibly decades of gaming.
Great video and tools. I personally use spreadsheets but backlogged is interesting. I love logging and documenting what I watch and play which is why I created my UA-cam channel to revisit. I'm an overwatch player so I also have hundreds of clips which I compile every now and then.
The biggest hindrance for me in knocking out my backlog is real life responsibilities and Halo lol. Sinking so much time into Halo multiplayer really prevents me from playing the other games on my list.
GT7 is my go-to game like that. Do you ever feel guilty about jumping back into Halo for the millionth time instead of playing something new or from your backlog? Because I do, which is an odd thing to reconcile when gaming is suppose to just be a fun hobby.
@@drgonzo123 maybe a little. I’m trying to hit max rank in the master Chief collection so I’ve accepted the fact that it’s a grind haha. And then if I play Halo Infinite, it’s with friends so it’s fun. I squeeze in some time for other games here and there.
Thank you so much for recommending the backlog website. I sat for like 2 hours just going through all the games I've played and categorized them. Amazing website that really structures what otherwise can become a real mess 😂
My life the last year or so hasn't allowed much time for gaming, and honestly, it's a welcome change. While I still enjoy gaming, not playing as much makes the times I do more enjoyable. My best advice is to not play a game that doesn't respect your time and don't play a game that feels like a chore. Gaming should be a chance to step away from the stressors of life, and the grindy games that dominate the industry do not do that, in my opinion. Story games are my go to now.
I don't really play much singleplayer, so the main thing I miss out on is short lived multiplayer games, where it was a great concept, but the playerbase didn't survive. I'd love a tool to help find those, rather than going back to games that are good, but I've played so much of that I'd rather be experiencing something fresh
it doesn't get any easier as you get older. Wish ya'll the best on your backlog journeys just remember to genuinely have fun, and game for the reason ya love gaming. I will add as an open conversation and help worthy you did incredible. Would like to add though if you and a buddy have a similar game sitting on both your backlogs playing it alongside one another or more or less around the same time will help you because you'll have someone to discuss the game and the journey with and its a little competitive for who can finish it first :)
Ive been dealing with the backlog by basically pretending it doesn't exist. I only play the games I absolutely want to play. Right now that game is the Fate Stay Night Remaster. I have waited so long to play the visual novel source material.
That grenade toss in the Halo 3 clip was nutty. Dude was Kobe with the nades back in the day. Unfortunately for me Xbox clears out your game clips after a while and after you reset the console. I reset mine cus it was having issues and what do you know? I lost all of them
Hey bbk, been a long time fan ish (2 years) I have a few friends that enjoy gaming all the time, i often feel like the odd one out because id rather just play shooters but theyll play literaly anything and seemingly have fun. I end up just watching them play said game while they stream it over discord but I was wondering how one could get better at learning a game quicker to avoid burnout/time wasting
I've actually made the decision to downgrade my Game Pass subscription and focus on playing the games I own. That instantly shrunk my backlog and makes me more conscious of what I should spend my gaming time on.
Pro Tip: don't play the same genre over and over again. Switch your genre and playtime every time you play. Even couch coop with friends or family makes huge difference. Gaming is like a Food. You like it but you don't eat everyday the same Burger, you know.
try minimap instead of backlogg, way better. could do without the store and social media shit, but the organizational ability is massively better can link your accoutns on different platforms and automatically populate lists with time played / achievements / other cool shit
so that tool is like MyAnimeList for gamers?? nah i'll skip that. i play and finished so many games. to register them one by one its gonna take forever. especially i kinda forget what game i played and finished back then at PS1 era for example
Gaming is RECREATION. If you're gaming so much and regard having a lot of games you've yet to play as a 'backlog', you're not gaming correctly (I'm sure that is where you're all going to focus on, and not address the rest of this comment), and you need to step away from gaming for a little while. Playing video games is NOT supposed to be a CHORE, and if it is, you're playing too much.
Yeah I don't get it either, just play what you want to play? Maybe get 5 or so games on a steam sale otherwise... don't buy more games until you've finished your current ones?
i havent got a backlog, well.. i still need to beat base game elden ring but i just dont feel the love to, dont know why just havent. also, not sure what to play next, this is my biggest issue... what to play...
I love gaming, but at 22 I already have become that boomer I used to make fun of😭 I play games sometimes twice a week on my days off for an hour or two if I’m lucky😂 feels like just yesterday I was binging BBKs spartan schools in halo 5 trying to hit champion 🥲
The best thing dragoon ever said to conquer the backlog was "be nicer to yourself, in these stressful times"
I think I’ve spent more time making lists, spreadsheets, organizing and watching other media about games, than I actually do playing them.
being tidy and organized is one of the coolest & most useful hobbies!
I’ve been loving these topics you’ve been talking about not enough content creators talk about this sort of thing and it’s inspired me to tackle my huge backlog I’ve been leaving on the back burner for a while

Fancy seeing you here, I was just about to watch your Warframe video.
@@Gr00t Hey! Really appreciate it! This platform really does go full circle ahahhah

I’m gonna warn you now, crash 4 is insanely hard if you’re going for the platinum. But it is fun, and beautiful visually.
I can proudly tell you that I am the most organized person that you have ever seen, I know how to stack things without stuff failing down!🙂
from the top1% I really enjoyed this and well worth the sub.

Excel bro
This is dope!
Bruh, I just put together an Excel sheet consisting of 61 games in my backlog. Now you tell me this exist
Bro same😅 but did I it in Notion
Better late than never! Did the same thing and will give these tools a try!
As always, another great video. Checking out Backlogged now!

Love your videos, they are so cozy. I just spent hours looking for a 3DS charger.... so I can relate.
This is amazing, I use a notepad, this is so much better and organized love it.

Followed you on backlogged just now!
In that H3 sword battle, it really showed how narrow the FOV was on the 360 haha. I’m so used to playing at 90 FOV in MCC.

i really hope that backlogg gets a lot more stable
Xenoblade 3 and Torna!!! Absolutely love those games
Holy crap, I’ve been busy with that backlog page but I’ve been playing games since 1980 🤪🤪🤪
That grenade toss in the Halo 3 clip was nutty. Dude was Kobe with the nades back in the day.

BBK better Put SRAWL on that Backlog
i have a backlog like you.... may have to use this site to help me with my backlog.
Curious if you ever checked out backloggery and what your thoughts are on it?

Original FEAR is so damn fun! Used to replay it constantly.

What monitor do you use for singleplayer games?
"arthur, what else have you been doing behins=d my back, son?"
I use a simple list on Microsoft to do app, with games I want to play and their length according to how long to beat.
i hope i can record my steam play time when i play offline. So i can appreciate my time spent later
school will fuck everything as usual
Trust me bro, it gets harder to find the time when you’re working full time, married, and have kids hha
Speaking of clutter, how do you like to organize your game library?
I just do this in my Steam library. I created a category named "Backlog", I put all my unfinished games there and I remove them I'm done with them.
FEAR is one of, if not, my favorite shooter of all time. Don’t bother with 2 and 3. I hope you enjoy 1!
I just need something to track my games across console and pc apps lol
useful

Tbh it applies to other areas of life 😅
I would pay if it synced achievements from Xbox , PlayStation, steam, etc..
so that tool is like MyAnimeList for gamers??
nah i'll skip that. i play and finished so many games. to register them one by one its gonna take forever. especially i kinda forget what game i played and finished back then at PS1 era for example
