    What a wonderful video. All the filming was superb, and when the drone was low and following the train it was extra special. I wish that I could give you many "Thumbs Up" instead of just one!

    Wonderful toy for a baby God! He will spend a lot of time watching the train go looping around itself with many engines through tunnels and between hills.

    FANTASTIC Aereial Photography more than good enough for HOLLYWOOD stock footage... and to think I we had to hang out of a Bell Jet Ranger helicopter all those years flying close to the ground with a $200,000 Panavision camera, and we'd never get the great clear stable shots you did with an affordable drone!
    Reminds me in part of the iconic train and titles intro from MGM's BAD DAY AT BLACK ROCK, where ace pilot and legend Paul Mantz gives us a moving birds-eye view right in front of the train, but in reality was a camera effects trick as the train was running backwards from the helicopter's camera, they just reversed the film!

    Outstanding coverage of engineering I had not seen. Through the Canadian Rockies the CPR built such a loop, but it is all into the mountain. Called the "Spiral Tunnel".

    Great video of these very long trains. I went through there many years ago on Amtrak's Desert Wind which is no longer running. It left L. A. Union Station and ran on Santa Fe rails to the pass. At some point it switched to Union Pacific rails. The train ran through the Mojave Desert then north to Las Vegas, where we got off, and then to Salt Lake City where it was hooked up to the California Zephyr headed east. It was a beautiful trip. Too bad it is no longer running.

    That's some really nice footage. I'm just thinking how much drones have changed things like railfanning. Back in the 1990s or even the early 2000s none of these shots were possible without renting a helicopter for hundreds or thousands of dollars for a day.

    Did you use a Skydio? If so, did you manually follow the two helpers, or does the vehicle lock work on the locomotives?

  • @JF-lt5zc
    @JF-lt5zc 2 роки тому +1

    Great drone flying. That being said, I've gotta give negative props on this one. Flying the drone over the rail, in front of an oncoming locomotive, an then the chase of the helper units. If BNSF sees this video I'd be surprised if they don't shut down any kind of railfanning at the Loop. Do us all a favor and don't do this again.

    Amazing Indeed!
    Nevertheless, I do not understand the necessity to make so long trains, especilly for assembly and disasembly cars steps, loading and unloading, risks of malfunction and tiredness of the railway if heating?
    May be the economy is about the number of locomotive drivers?
