- In February, my Girlfriend, Best friend, and his girlfriend, and I set out on a DYI trip to Pyramid Lake. I go every year during this time and it's truly something special. We fished for four days and found double-digit Lahontan Cutthroat on chironomids.

Looks like an awesome trip. One clarification. Not many “wild” fish at Pyramid. The paiute hatchery raises summits and doesn’t fin clip. The USFS raises pilot peaks at a different hatchery and fin clips.
The pilots are spawning up the truckee. There are wild pilots.
