YES, I completely agree, but only if she stays in this awesome character throughout. I would HATE a schmaltzy ending where she's watching a Christmas movie at the end with her hubby and kids snuggled next to her on the couch. BLECH.
What a shame that a second Bridesmaids (or other film) with this same cast was never made. Like the Hangover films, it's not the plot that keeps you watching, it's the performances. I just can't believe they couldn't cook up a reasonable story that this cast could then flesh out with the level of hilarious improv we see in the above video.
i agree, the plot is funny but IMO is not the reason the film was such a success, and could have been better. if the cast wasnt as strong idk if the plot would be as funny or interesting. so glad it featured such a strong cast
Absolutely correct. Guess funding is also a big difficulty.studios wouldn't mind putting money on male superstars but when it comes to projects with female leads it's another story. Doesn't the pay disparity reveal it?
@@senguptasayn In this case, I don't think that would be at issue. Doubt funding would be a sticking point on remaking a film with Bridesmaids' level of box office success. I do think plot-wise a remake is problematic, do we want to see Kristen Wiig's character once again suffer the deep lack of confidence that drove the comedy and plot of Bridesmaids? Also comparing Bridesmaids to the Hangover films, the former centered on Wiig's character with the rest of the cast in smaller supporting roles, versus the shared three lead billing of the latter films. So for remaking the former it could be difficult to amass so many comic actors in mere supporting roles again to Wiig's lead, particularly when it can be argued that the whole was larger than the sum of the parts in Bridesmaids. And maybe that's where pay challenges comes in, subtract any one of the main seven supporting cast, and Bridesmaids would have been a lesser film. Generally big difference in pay between lead and support, even in residuals. Just so wish we could have had a few more films with (perhaps reduced) mixes of the original Bridesmaids cast, maybe as even wholly different characters.
Totally. They’re both actually nice women though Rita seems tough. I liked the contrast between Rita wanted less sex and more intimacy & perhaps a return to the innocence Becca’s character has because her kids are a handful to say the least.
