I appear missing is qotsas best song (in my opinion).

This album actually means a lot to me, not only because I'm a huge Queens of the Stone Age fan, but because so many of the songs really speak to me, as a sufferer of chronic depression and severe generalized anxiety. The vampyre of time and memory, keep your eyes peeled, and I Appear Missing especially are songs that struck a chord somewhere deep in my heart and were just overall perfect.

Gotta agree with Eagle here, I like rated R and actually think lullabies to paralyze is better than songs for the deaf. But they’re all trumped by Clockwork. This album is a masterpiece

...Like Clockwork is their absolute masterpiece. I love SFTD tons as well, but this record as an added layer of deep feeling that puts it over the top. The animations add to the overall flavor.

Personally my favorite QOTSA album. It came out around a time when I lost my job. I was riding my bike (to save money) and listening to this album on my iPod (still had those in those days). I was working hard coaching at different gyms around town and biking god knows how many miles a day to make it all work. In hindsight, that struggle was one of my favorite times of my life and whenever I hear these songs (I Appear Missing, I Sat by the Ocean, etc) it reminds me of that struggle and the joy that ultimately came from it.

No problem man. That's so cool. I started listening to Qotsa back in 2009 myself. And i've loved all that they've done ever since. Fun fact: since TCV came out in 2009 i started liking them first. And that was my "gateway-band" to introduce me to Queens, Foo Fighters and Led Zeppelin. Btw hit that notification bell if you want to get updated when i post more qotsa or desert rock related stuff! You won't regret it.

@@LieLikesMusic Thanks boss. And man that's so cool you got into TCV first, I've never met anyone who went from TCV to the respective three original bands. It was such a treat when I found out that three of my favorite bands came together to make one masterpiece of an album, same with how I'm psyched that I'm getting into Kyuss now after being a J Ho fan since I was 11
Also idk if it's off for you, but on Spotify in the U.S TCV's album got taken off yesterday for some reason, probably licensing, similar to when QOTSA's first album was taken off for a couple of months over a year ago.
Anyways keep it up, I love seeing notifications about anything Josh or John Frusciante related since their my two fav humans

My favorite album of all time!!! I remember I living in Tahoe without any internet access. I rented a hotel room in Reno NV Specifically to download the album the very moment it was released. I spent the entire night watching the music videos for the album over and over again. Even to this day I tear up like I did when I first watched I appear missing all those years ago. That’s the song I play anytime I pick up a guitar at a music store to see if anyone knows what I’m playing. I’ve only had 2 people mention out loud that they recognized it. God I’m such a queens nerd.

But, uh, Joshua m. Homme contributed some backing vocals for mastodon's blood mountain. He even left a little audio love note as a hidden track at the end.
So there most certainly is a QOTSA connection. Also look up Gone is Gone.

  • @brianscraper7433

...also I remember the short animated clips they released on the qotsa website to promote the album. They were dark and grimey. It had a different spirit to the artwork we usually see from this band but was a perfect reflection of my mood at that time. I Appear Missing is such an incredible, melodramatic song! It still gives me chills. I remember the feeling of depression I had when this album first came out but it doesn’t make me feel that way anymore. I know that period of my life was difficult but ended up being so rewarding. My feelings toward this album mirror that same sentiment. Thank you for this video, Lie! It really takes me back to 2013 in such a positive and informative way!

*I really love this album, one of my favorites of all-time!*
And also good video, there was some facts that I don't knew like the 2 or 6! but I have a really doubt about this album, almost like a secret thing that nobody knows or talk much about it, I'm talking about the sample at the beginning of "Soomth Sailing" in the single video, it just sounds for almost 7 seconds or something like that, but I really can't find it even in some posts and forums. It's a smooth melody played by a brass instrument with a curious percusion as others samples in the Them Crooked Vultures's album. *Someone knows about it?*

I don’t know what this implying I’m a liar shit is about but I don’t take it seriously. It’s not the first time and I’m sure it won’t be the last I imagine the last time will be sometime when I actually am lying about something. But as far as the mind reading and influencing technology I feel confident in my vision of Jesus brother drowning and the 2422 story. If they were trying so hard to convince people they weren’t influencing my thoughts they shouldn’t have kept this up til I got evidence it was going on. Feel me.
