Depends on who you are. Travel addicts need Platinum. Food addicts / supermarket lovers need gold. Oh, folks who don't care about benefits and just are into the ego thing should also get Platinum
It's very simple and straight froward! United allows you to fund you account with money that can be used for future flights. If you've ever used the Starbucks app where you load money into your account, it's very similar to that. But when you use a credit card with an airline credit, like the platinum card or the Hilton Aspire Card, the purchase will trigger the credit. For example, I recently added $100 to my united travel bank with my platinum card and a few days later I received a $100 statement credit from the flight credit. Do make sure to select United as your preferred airline on the Platinum card.
amex cards I currently own is Gold (Rose Gold) Blue Cash Preferred and Business Plus, There's a few more Amex cards i want to get before i'm done getting Amex cards platinum and Green once i get those i'm finished, Not American express related also planning to get my last Chase card ink unlimited, Have the flex, unlimited and Sapphire preferred but my ink card will be my last card from Chase
Dear Matt, I have a gold card and would like to pair it with another travel card. Do you recommend amex platinum, capital one venture X or chase reserve? thank you
I would recommend the Sapphire Reserve! Personally, I think the Sapphire Reserve beats the Platinum and Venture X. And it would allow you to earn points in both points programs, opening up even more options! The only reason thing is, if you are looking for lots of lounge access, I would then recommend the Platinum card, as it has lots more to offer!
Love❤ both my Gold in Platinum card just not the Annual fee. Platinum card 😢 Erich card has its job one for travel in lounges an the other for food restaurants grocery etc ..
I would love to see the Gold and even the Green card revamped a bit. Or big dream, I would love to see a new amex card with a $1,500 annual fee and some crazy good benefits. Like a Centurion little brother.
Thanks for this video. I’ve been between either getting only the Platinum card for lounges OR getting Gold card for every day use and Delta Reserved for traveling purposes and lounges. Delta is my go to for flying. For hotels, Hyatt is my go to as well. At this point, I’m thinking having dedicated credit cards makes more sense.
The Gold card is great for earning MR points. The Delta Reserve is definitely an option for the lounge access. If you can use the credits and benefits correctly, the effective annual fee would be $0 or close too. And one of Chases Hyatt cards is also a good options.
The true cost of membership is the actual ammount the annual fee is, period. That is 100% going to happen. The other "credits" they offer, maybe maybe not youll take advantage of them.
No. Technically they are charge cards. There is not preset spending limit, at least on the front end. The main thing is they are not intended to carry a balance month to month.
Do you think you could make use of the other credits the Platinum card offers? You could look at the Capital One Venture X or the Chase Sapphire Preferred or Reserve. Those cards have credits to help bring down the annual fee while still offering some great benefits.

Go/for the Rose Gold❤
i have both Platinum for people who travel a lot, Gold is for everyday use.
Nice video. I would love to learn more about the "United Travel Bank " and how to use the airline credit for it

They are both great cards. I wish they had a few more credit options for bringing down the annual fee.
America express black Card 👍
There is still room for the Geen to be added to create a "quadfecta"
That's very true!!
I'm interested to see if either of these cards are on the list to get a refresh this year. It's happened already with the delta cards
I'm curious to see that as well! Only time will tell
I think the platinum has 50/50 odds but, the Gold is 99.9% getting revamped.

The gold just added white gold as of today :) got it

Have both!

With the gold card, is the 4x in restaurants in all restaurants worldwide or only in selected restaurants?
All. And international
I dont even use any of the perks. Would be useless for me to have any of these cards.
Are they really “credit” cards though?
No. Technically they are charge cards. There is not preset spending limit, at least on the front end. The main thing is they are not intended to carry a balance month to month.
Bro I’m stuck because I don’t go out to eat much but I wanna travel more! Ughh

I should have got Gold 😮
Not really a 1cent per point. Some details are missing.
Which details are missing?
I can carry a balance on my Platinum.
Technically you can, but that's not recommended. There will be interest added onto your statement for the remainder of the balance that is not paid.
@@Spend.Earn.Travel. i understand that
For the Amex gold do we get 4x reward points at McDonald'ss and Wendy's ?
Yes you do!
