Mr Critical I have a hard time think Annie would volunteer for this at this point. As the study group got closer, no doubt she would volunteer for this role.
Natural that Abed, a true connoisseur of television and therefore storytelling, is the only one who knew when it was over and gave it the applause it so obviously deserved
Humour is subjective as well as the way people interpret filmmaking. I very very rarely laugh at movies and TV shows, even if I find the movie or TV show immensely enjoyable.
Yeah, i’m introduced to community, and I don’t know why but I can’t find these funny. And yeah all humour is subjective, cause I find slapstick humour funnier. Also, the notion of “time to get new friends” is kinda wrong. If this is an actual person’s mindset, then he would only stick with people with the same point of view. Community is about a diverse group of friends from different backgrounds. Build a ‘community’ with your existing friends then just cutting them off.
Pierce and Jeff honestly had some of the best moments together from the Getgo. No matter how much Jeff hated Pierce, or tried to, they always had the best interactions.
That part where Annie is tied up was not in the script. The scene was missing something, so they got Alison Brie tied her up and we got this small but hilarious scene.
One of the best moments of the entire show. It’s hilarious and it’s when you first realize that deep down Jeff is a good person that cares about the study group.
And when he tries to play it off as a ploy to impress her, because he didn't wanna show himself emotionally unguarded. Really he felt bad when she had a go at him and realised his selfishness.
Starts as 7 people in a crappy community college, ends as an analysis of how TV shows tend to go beyond their natural ending point with over the top hypothetical scenarios
"pierce, i understand if you don't wanna be my friend. but this thing that we've created, it is bigger than the both of us and it deserves to be done right." oof. that hits different knowing about the drama between dan harmon and chevy chase.
I watch this specific scene over and over. The background song, robot Pierce and robot Jeff, the Afros and Troy and Shirley’s face, Annie being kidnapped, and them thinking they did the assignment correctly. Abed caps, Chang gives F, F- (who was the F-) and Pierce asking if he said S They did their 6 seasons, give us a fkn movie.
This just become 10 times funnier if you immagine Cheng thinking about baby crying and distant explosions while watching it and then giving a completely random vote
This is one of my favorite scenes from any episode of community, it made me laugh so hard the first time I saw it that I almost pissed myself, not joking
That could have been the first time pierce experienced selflesness from another person towards him and i love it how this is the first rehabilitation of his broken personality
What about the minstrel show and how Troy and Shirley weren't amused by it? I'm amazed this wasn't one of the episodes pulled from streaming, like the Dungeons and Dragons episode.
I like how some of the scenes actually inspired certain future elements: Israel/Palestinian = Annie and abed becoming housemate. The robot = bloggorns/ bobbaton . Annie getting abducted in the river = Troy got abducted by pirates. Spray shooting = paintballs. Maybe they are just mere coincidences.. but still funny to me
I loved Community throughout its run (yes, even a good part of S4). But man did some characters get hit by a bad case of Flanderization as it progressed. Looking back at season 1 clips, Britta and Chang are basically different characters compared to what they were by the end. The show may reference that fact but DAMN

Jeff was right, he needed to do that performance. Abed was right to applaud. These men obviously poured themselves into this performance and at the least deserved to get S's.
Season 1 is such a different show compare to the rest of the seasons. Possibly because they had a bigger budget, or maybe it's because Dan wasn't given the full reigns of the show.
Ill be honest, i nearly dropped watching s3 because of chang alone. He was really overplayed and really annoying. In s2 he had some funny bits but no depth of character. In season 3 i hated every moment he was on screen. In s4 they dropped his frequency wich is good, but gave him an annoying bit. I barelly remember him in s5 wich so far is a win and in s6 they realized he was way too annoying but instead of giving him a better personality they just removed any that he had.
@@bet3240 hmm, I actually never found him annoying, maybe it’s bc Ken Jeong is such a great actor, but the early seasons of him were better than the later seasons.
I cracked up during this scene🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 and when I saw the Mexican hats and Jeff said "ready amigo" immediately came to my mind the movie "The three amigos" in which Chevy Chase stars. ( I loved that movie when I was a child)
This scene is the moment I knew.. this series was destined for greatness.

So not only did they bind and gag Annie but the whole class watched and did nothing. And that was the only part Chang seemed to enjoy lol
I wonder how that went, did they just go up to her and start tying her up or did she volunteer
Mr Critical I have a hard time think Annie would volunteer for this at this point. As the study group got closer, no doubt she would volunteer for this role.
We try not to sexualize Annie
I think Chang started getting ideas lol
