My two HO CP ES44's RC came with damaged front handrails on the engineers side of the cab. Funny the same part was broken on both units. They are like Rapido, they pump out too much and quality suffers while still command a premium price !
I was rather disappointed to find out the one unit is broken from the manufacture . I ended opening the unit and voiding the warranty to figure out what the problem is. We will cover that in a follow up video.
IMRROcom I’ve had a couple minor parts( grill cover) on one or sd40-2 and one Gevo. Part was there but loose. I had 1 tank car truck on the last run that the truck was broken right down the middle through the screw hole. I contacted sxt and they sent me out a new pair. They’ve been good to me with any issues like that. I’m still a big sxt fan for sure. However I’ve heard more and more grumblings and hope they are not slipping on quality. 🤨🤷🏻♂️
@@IMRROcom Yes. I purchased a Rivet Counter N Scale GE ET44 Tier 4 GEVo and took it out of the box last night (Jan 9th 2021) for the very first time. Basically has the exact same issue. I grabbed my phone and made a video of it. Such a nicely detailed loco but this issue let me down big time.
The SP models do look sharp. I'm sorry you had an issue with one. I suppose its bound to happen now and then, but we all hope it doesn't happen to us. Look forward to the next video.
Eric if there’s one constant complaint I’ve had with sxt, it is their couplers. Even in Ho scale I’m not a fan. I replace them with kadee. Those are some nice looking models tho. 👍David

Those are good SP models! But if you ask me no model should be delivered with damage of any kind, regardless of it’s price.
that would be true, getting something that does not work sucks, I have received a few broken thing from scaletrains at this point.
Nice looking n scale locomotives. That SP paint scheme looks beautiful. Hopefully they run as good as they look. I believe they do.

I have 8 of the rivet counter dash 9's with sound and 2 tier 4's with dcc and they all run exceptionally well! No broken or missing parts.

As a follower of Dan Cortopassi’s reviews, you’re spot on with the flaws of these models, definitely worth deducing points off for these issues

Don't worry about voiding the warranty! You did the best thing out there. That is checking out the non conformance issues.

With scaletrains the only issue I have is that they are constantly out of stock
