get some hair developer cream from a beauty supply.. cover any yellowed plastic with it and get it under the sun.. ziploc bags help. it WILL NOT DAMAGE COLOR and the white will be brilliant
Interesting see see parts from 7715 in there. Do you iron the sails? Lol! I just thought of it but I’ve not tried it. I use to look at goodwill all the time but the online prices are indeed ridiculous. You are right about that. The minifigure lots go from really crazy amounts. Every now and then I will find something random but most of the bulk lots get too rich for me. I usually put a low bid and once in a while I win. Oh cool you got Flinstines figs! Also about the packing it is nice when they pack it really right. I’ve gotten those packages that have a trail of bricks leading to the road. And we’ve got the empty package once. And one I shipped got destroyed and arrived empty. First time I ever was glad about the insurance
Yes, I do iron the sails! Any of the “traditional starched” fabrics I will iron. Including capes! Never had any trouble with them. And you are very right about the minifigure lots, it so crazy what people are paying for them on Goodwill. And I’m excited about the flintstones set, it’s so unique! I was very pleased they packed them so well. I have been so disappointed in the past with the way people ship LEGO. Usually I am very easy going and try not to bother sellers but with as many busted shipping boxes as I have received I have decided to ask more questions about packaging before buying. Can’t believe you’ve have empty boxes though, that’s crazy!
Yay another bulk unboxing video! The blue leaf makes me think of Elves, the blue 16x16 plate at the front must be a Friends set, possibly a coffee shop or a market of some sort. I can see some DUPLOs, some really recent sets (2018), some vintage stuff (castle, pirates), what a mix :D . Do you know if it belonged to a single owner? or if it's a couple of owner's stuff mixed together? Hopefully it's not multiple owners, mixed then dispatched separately... It's awesome to get that horse cloth part with both clips intact! I too have the twin arm launcher, so I know what you mean, such a great part. I'd always use it for the king's horse though. I'd love some tips on restoring cloths piece too.
Glad you like these videos! Yes, a very wide mix of 80s LEGO to present! I wonder if maybe it was a parent and child’s LEGO mixed together? I’m not sure though. And I will work on restoring these sails and document the progress. If they turn out well I’ll post it as a video too 😁
Goodwill lots are interesting. It feels like they dump all of their Lego in one giant bin, and then scoop out 16lbs for a lot to put up for sale. So you just get a bit of everything. Some older, some new, from every theme, and usually no full sets. Interesting to see you might've gotten a complete Flintstones. Have to watch to see what that sets value does now that it retired just a couple months ago.
Oh yeah. Goodwill is great for Lego actually. I have not done any auctions there, though. Just in the last couple weeks, I found the 2023 Blacktron cruiser and a twenty pound lot and for some reason the twenty pounds was marked really low in price. Then I got charged $125 for shipping. I complained that I was getting charged that for a $48 total. They refunded me $115. I almost feel bad, but there was mega blocks, pen caps, and a few other things I don't recognize. Also, it was gross, sticky, and had an odor.
I don’t know too much about Goodwill because I don’t live in the US but guess the money from sales goes toward the most vulnerable, if so that’s a good thing.
Interesting. I've thought about whether to look into Goodwill bulk purchases. Your discussion of pricing being higher than even an EBay lot equivalen makes me step back a bit and wonder....... Hmm.

It looks like a lot of your vintage pieces were in excellent condition.
What a great haul. The classic castle was worth it.
Great video. Bulk lot purchases are always interesting to watch. Funny that there were new pieces along some stuff from the 80's. :-)
Nice haul! Interesting to see such a large variety of themes in the lot.
Stacey, do you ever build MOC's? If so, I think we'd all love to see them!

I usually iron those sails sandwiched in bed sheets to protect the silkscreen print from heat ( clean first so your not baking the stain in)

Absolutely! Definitely a good thing! 😁

I have been able to get decent deals on shop goodwill but you have to watch shipping and only bid local to the coast of USA your on
Very true!
So true the shipping can really add up on those lots
I was wondering if goodwill was your secret source. But I agree, deals are not likely there.
Perhaps occasionally but I would say it would be a rare find!
What’s that giant train stop/crossing piece? I have a couple
The train signal post is part number x489 …BrickLink says it came in 13 sets between 1968 and 1987 😁
How much did you pay for this?
