    Matt is definitely a ppl pleaser, Abby. He was gonna say “life isn’t what he expected” and she got sad. And then he changed his response! It’s okay to be honest Matt.

    Child proof your home before bringing delivering your baby. Life gets in the way, one thinks they have all the time in the world. It only takes one incident, God forbid. Consider it part of the nesting if that helps getting the cabinets, drawers, outlets, toilet seat, etc childproofed!

    Abby - you are correct. Birds do add items suck as shells, berries and stick to their nest only for decoration to attract a mate and when sitting on their eggs. I learned something new. ❤ Another reason why I love this podcast.

    I noticed your comment about saving people over animals, I work in animal protection and I just thought I would add some thinking points to this comment. This is meant as informative / food for thought:
    It’s important to save / protect animals for a number of reasons;
    1. Our planet requires ecosystems to function correctly, without correct ecosystems, that includes flora and fauna we will not survive.
    2. Animals deserve our guardianship and husbandry, they do not have a voice that we can understand, there are so many animals that are suffering because of industrial decisions of humans, people who are advocating for animals are acting for their rights that they cannot protect.
    3. Animals are proven to be sentient beings, they have emotions, they feel pain and they can feel fear, distress and perform complex tasks. They are deeply vulnerable to human activity such as mining, deforestation, fishing etc if we let everyone do what they want in nature and not care what happens to all creatures, this planet will die. Each creature exists on earth for a reason, as each one dies off, the lower our chance of environmental recovery is
    4. Domesticated and farmed animals require us humans to help them, we have bred them to be dependent on us, they cannot thrive on the street or in feral populations. Stray cats and dogs spread disease, suffer from malnutrition, get into fights, suffer from severe animal abuse due to overpopulation and fear of disease. As humans we are 100% at fault for what is happening to our domestic and farmed animals around the world. They didn’t choose to become this way, we have created animals for a purpose that need us to protect them. Just as an interesting fact 75% of the world’s dog population are stray. This is why rescuing, spay / neuter and vaccination programs are essential.
    I hope this helps explain if not for ethical reasons, for the ecological reasons why animal protection is critical. Humans should 100% receive help but we are not the only living beings on this planet, and we cannot survive without all creatures being happy and healthy. Congratulations on your new baby and I wish you much health and luck in the coming months.

      75%?!?! 😢 I’m literally bawling crying. Hardcore ugly cry! Poor pups ❤ I’ll be giving Tobi (my very precious 6 year old mini schnauzer) some extra lovins tonight. I lost my twin girls 16 days apart then found out it was bc I had 4 types of cancer and was whisked in for a for an emergency full, radical hysterectomy. So I’ll never have the chance to be a mommy…
      which is what I’ve wanted since I started babysitting at 12 (SO young at the time, I don’t know how anyone’s mama would trust me with thier children when I was TWELVE years old! 🤣😂🤣) now I teach Sunday school, I’m auntie to all my friends children. But basically bc of that Tobi is soooo spoiled! He IS my baby! Anyone who says “it’s just a dog” definitely do NOT understand MY situation. But I love all the info… it just makes me so sad. 75 friggin% ?!?!?Heartbreaking!!! ❤️‍🩹 Thank you for the education ❤ I know I really appreciate it! ❤

    Need to have a counselor on the podcast to sort out these foggy feelings, thoughts, especially all the cryptic things Matt says(1% infatuation(are you 16%?). This IS real life, real love grows deeper and deeper, commitment to your spouse and children grows deeper and deeper as well, responsibility comes with marriage, children, job, life!
    Also please have a childbirth specialist/ob on the podcast! Braxton Hicks contractions are normal! As uncomfortable as they can be, Matt, they are not the contractions of labor! If men went through labor they would never have unprotected sex again!

      I agree!! A lot of the elders in my relatives are stuck and a childlike mentality and a lot of times it best to care for them from a distance.. I wouldn’t even consider them family. But then all the weight falls on me. There’s no village. It makes me appreciate myself in a whole another level. And my relationship with god is just flourishing. So I would say it’s a hard win but a win overall.

    Your honesty is refreshing but, my God, it makes me nervous for you. Matt is sending out so many distress signals and it’s clear that he’s struggling. I think adult responsibilities have come too many and too soon for him. It’s obvious that Abby is blissed out by motherhood (which is BEAUTIFUL to see!) but I think that her fulfilment blinds her to the fact that Matt isn’t as equally fulfilled. My parents had their first child in their early 20s. They were divorced by their early 30s because my Dad felt like he’d lost his youth. It caused a lot of frustration and built-up resentment in him. 😔 Matt is already showing the signs of feeling old before his time. 😔 I hope that, unlike my parents, Matt and Abby can find a way through TOGETHER, but these things are here now (a big house rather than a carefree shack in Hawaii, the physical burden of all of the furniture and possessions rooting him down, two children by the age of 25) and I’m not sure how to have those things and also feel like you still have enough youthful fun and playfulness in your life. August is a beautiful name. x

    Both of you really need to wear shoes when you record your podcast. Have you ever noticed how much you touch your feet.? It’s very distracting to me and I’m sure I’m not the only one who has noticed this. Why do you always touch your feet?

    Oh yay so Abby is a boss woman in the gym having a 200 heart rate.. that is stroke level... do you not know the recommended heart rate during a workout? Even the most athletic people in the best shape can have a heart attack or a stroke. When you are pregnant, you have more blood in your system, which makes your heart have to work more plus with extra weight your heart is working more... being in shape is great but you are actually risking you and your baby's lives by working out that hard!

    I’m not shaming but you shouldn’t do a c-section unless it is actually needed. It has way more many risks for mom and baby and higher risks for complications after delivery. Please talk more in depth with your doctor about the pro’s vs. cons and make n informed decision on your own. Not just what your doctor says. Not all doctors have their patients best interest at heart. C-sections are done far too often when they aren’t needed. I do love the name though! So so cute

    Abby I love the way you gently stand up (sitting down!) for yourself & how you think and feel. Matt is always going to be ruthlessly honest and that is going to be a steady reliable. I’m v emotional like you (all the time, all my life). You are male & female & there will always be differences and not always (if ever) alignments in thoughts, feelings, wants. Women need to feel and be proud of the way they are, same with men, each honouring & respecting the differences whether of gender or character, no steamrolling please! I haven’t seen Griffin properly yet so am looking forward to seeing a birthday video (🎉🎉🎉). Good luck for the birth all of you, didn’t realise it was so imminent. Keep hydrated in the hot weather, put those feet up Abby! Lovely to have family around to help & to share in it all ❤🥰❤

    You have a 25 lb. Very dependent infant. You are 37 weeks pregnant. You have company and your household composition has just recently changed. Don't over judge how your feelings/romance quotient is now. Give yourself a minute. Don't force it, but don't throw that part of yourselves out with the bathwater.

    It’s sad he said the romantic vibe is missing ot not there anymore . The thing is everyday you need to put more time and more dedication to your relationship . You can still be the exception . We are as a couple with kids , we just take everyday time to be romantic to hug to kiss , all of that because it’s necessary and becoming a parent does not mean you will be less romantic or whatever .

    Abby! I'm also a first time parent and our babies are a few days a part. You're totally right about the sadness that comes with their birthday. Everyone talks about how we should cherish the time and how quick it goes, but no one talks about the profound sense of sadness that comes when they do hit these milestones. Which isn't to say we aren't excited for them and want to celebrate with them, but the flip side is that those moments are now gone. Helping our tiny humans grow is such a rollercoaster and I feel like as parents we do nothing but grow alongside them. Thank you SO MUCH for even mentioning this because it should be normalized and talked about more ❤

    I can't be the only one who has noticed each podcast that Matt repeatedly mentions how their intimacy and romance and PDA and infatuation at the beginning of their relationship was so much more fun and every time he refers to the state of their relationship now it almost seems like he's unhappy or he's like wishing he was back in the past? I really hope that they can figure things out because it really seems like he's unhappy...

    • @9eyeswideopen
      @9eyeswideopen Рік тому

      @ ericaj2611 you are so right he seems to want what he had in the past with her and Abby is becoming even more reliant on Matt which in time can so easily become suffocating in a relationship. Having children usually gives you confidence but she seems to be so overwhelmed sooner or later she has to learn to take the lead with her children because it doesn’t get easier the older they get.

    We had three girls within 36 months, my husband ran our business from our home, and he supervised our farm. I didn’t have help and it wasn’t bad. May I suggest the white plastic fencing. At Griffin’s age, the girls played with their toys within the fencing and I knew they were safe. These days, the same fencing is supervising two tiny toy poodles.

It really seems like just yesterday griffin was born and now here you are right around the corner from having this beautiful new baby. Embrace the cheesy Matt, you’re a parent so it’s a requirement 😂
