- This time you guys get to see the dyno results from the 105! This again isn't a crazy power build or anything like that. in an ideal world would definitely get a compensated pump however what's life without a little risk!

with my 80 series on 518 000kms I can only dream about turbo without proper engine rebuild. I will keep cruising VERY slowly :-D
Same as my 75 with 613000kms
My math (not being my strong suit) shows a 70% HP increase and the torque is great. Quite impressive and certainly no need to go ape-shit crazy trying to squeeze out any more. Nice vid - keep them coming!

Good job. As for the figures for a stock 105 its a safe tune. If you want get heap more out of it the 105 will not last. IT IS WHAT IT IS. They are a fairly strong engine if you don't go overboard. Good video Danie
I don't know why anyone would bag the dyno result, for what seems a pretty basic bolt on turbo whith the fuel screw adjusted you got a 120% power increase over stock, and that was with the aircon on.

Interesting vid, 67hp surprised me when my old 2.8 na lux was supposedly 70, she's a bit sad, like you said hard life but got a nice little gain. should be heaps better to drive. Like a few others have said, nothing like a little bang to get you going. Starter rebuild in your future.👍
Figures are all hypothetical untill it gets a dyno run, so many things can affect the figures. But yes heaps better to drive !
70hp at the fly wheel... you would see about 40hp on 31s and 30 or less with 33s

I've just got "Emu Wings" for my 105, I'll let you know how good they are once I put em in. Your build is really taking shape and looking mint!
What are they?? Sound interesting
They are rear side access window replacements on gas struts similar to style side canopy side access panels, I got mine in the powder coated rolled aluminium. With the rear wheel carrier it will make getting into the boot space quick and easy.

Wow i cant believe how good of results you got. We are running 1HZJ80 with after market turbo, 12psi boost, 33's, stock fuel pump, manual and no intercooler but and ours was dyno tuned and we only have a max of 67.7kW (90hp) and only about 240Nm of torque.
What size turbo
@@DanieSimpson I don't actually know to be honest. We brought the car with it all setup already. It's a denco turbo system but. What kit did you guys go with? Cheers.

@@DanieSimpson Cheers for the reply mate. Hey just wondering also what sort of fuel economy are you getting out of your 1HZ's?? We get about 17L/100kms on the freeway being around 480-500kms out of our main tank when the fuel light comes on then off-road around 28L/100kms. Our last desert run we drained the main tank in only about 280kms. Seems way too heavy on the juice to me. Cheers.
@@gdrahcir with 33x13.5 it's about 16.5L/100km and with 35x12.5 it comes down to 13/14L/100km. I don't have a fuel light but after my before hits empty I've still got about 130km left
Good torque figures! But just wondering if you are happy with power figures? Just had my NA 1hz tuned and it's still good for 121hp at all 4. (96 1hz 80 280,000kms)
Would be interested to see that dyno chart! Was going to dyno the NA 75series but didn't see the point really because I thought it'd be like 40hp😂

Hi Danie we did same build to a chopped 80 .. 2 things to look at with wagons with the 4inch lift did you get castor correct bushes.. and after a while towing a camping across Australia we fitted a Dessert Cooler radiator... hope it helps... oh the fuel problem try some oversize injectors I dont know if it's TRUE but blokes were fitting 76 series 24v injectors ... hope it helps
If you watch Part 1 you will see that castor plates are needed for a 4" bushes aren't enough. Also their is not fuel issue or overheating issue so not sure what you mean
Sorry if come across the wrong why they were just a few things we needed to do after turboing and lifting our 80 ... I didnt need the Radiator till it started towing long periods with the camper
@@mrmrsengineer3892 no not at all. Just injectors and radiator are causing no issues or holding anything back at the moment

What is the fuel consumption now, and you need more videos on the 105
Discussed on another youtube video. Haven't had the 105 for over 2 years now.
Did you use power and 1hz in the same sentence?
You do know why 1 hz engines last forever?
Thats roughly how long it takes to go somewhere.
Thats from an 80 series owner with an NA 1hz, who us interested in getting it turboed.
The starter problem is the contacts in the solenoid, something like $20 for those from an auto electrician or $100 from toyota, and about an hours work, at the kms this thing has a set of brushes wouldnt hurt either.

love your vids and the fact your a cruiser girl! could be I good idea to protect that turbo oil drain, looks quite prone to being ripped out by a branch which I have done to my fuel line which wasn't near as exposed! nobody wants that! keep twistin those spanners.
Cheers!! And if a branch gets that high then there's alot of things it could damage haha this thing is miles away from the ground compared to the 75
that's what I thought about my fuel line which was between my tank and chassis rail about a metre off the ground! that was a bad day!!! maybe just a bash plate up front to deflect stuff then? again keep it up. love the fact its yours and you also do the work on it!
nice work with turbo on 1hz dont need to much boost on turbo ...keeps the 105 reliable for remote traveral in austraila what temp is your egts running at?

@@DanieSimpson awesome Danie.....mine at worst towing tandem trailor in 75 running garrat turbo up hill sometimes can run up to 500 egt 105 s have better air flow than 75 s yours should run cooler ?i keep an eye on egts all the the time dont want to destroy that wonderfull 1hz haha
How do you get past cops in QLD? Have you got it engineered or are you risking a defect? Would love big lifts and tires but not sure I want to risk a fine just yet.

the Gxl's have got the centre console - got one myself. Dickie seats too
Pretty sure that's a standard thing. This is a GXL model hence no barn does either

How you find the 105 before the turbo , I take it very hard to turn the 35s, just about to buy a clean 1hz but just debating the whole wanting 315s but know it’s going to struggle on any slight incline ..
I ran 35s on my 75 for a few years and had no dramas just lost acceleration and poor crawling speed offroad. Something that can be rectified with a change of gears but usually 33s suits best

Hey Danie, I have a 99 troopy with a dts turbo kit was wondering how much this intercooler and tune business cost you, would you recommend a intercooler or any info on doing this to my 1hz !
Yes definitely recommend an intercooler for any turbo set up. It was $680 off eBay but if you have the money is invest in a front mount. Give Diesel Smart performance a call and they will give you a quote for a dyno run

Depends how much you want to spend. This was about $2.5k for turbo, intercooler, manifold, piping, clamps, exhaust piping etc
