Got the same on my 79. First set leaked, they replaced with double seal under warranty. All good now for over a year. Seem like they are doing the job.
One thing I found that made a HUGE difference on my old leaf sprung LN106 Hilux was lifting the weight off the spring pack (It would be super simple with a hoist, but I just used a jack and lifted off the chassis) and then knocked a prybar into the leaf pack to seperate it out and squirted some moly grease in between the leaves. Allows them to slip past each other a bit easier and they dont tend to bind up as much. The old solid axle hilux's are a lot like the 75's with super short leaf packs but it was a definite improvement offroad with how well the wheels articulated, but a MASSIVE difference onroad- You dont run over a ciggy butt and shatter your spine any more. Sold the Hilux back to my parents and bought a TD 100 series. I miss the versatility of the ute, but maaaan I dont miss the ride of that old girl- Its nice to get to where your going and not fall out of the truck with the lower half of your body not working any more!
To install the shocks, I compress them with a hi-lift and tie a string in between the top and bottom. Bolt in one end and then cut the string while lining the other. Works a treat!
You dont really need remote res for cape, i did it with cheap superior ones in my old SAS datsun, no issues just alittle stiff just ran lower tyre pressure's to compensate lol... Looks good ay
You don't even need a 4wd for the cape these days but id rather have them as I have done corrugated roads before for long periods and the shocks just got too hot for my liking so that's what I meant

We also love the 3 way adj in vehicles that we perform engineering tests also because they can be adjusted depending on how the vehicle handles in the test for its weight.
7:25 those res' bolts can be a bitch to get started hey :) You will probably notice the most difference on corrugated or washed out roads (if you have not already) It just tends to stay a lot more predictable / stable on rougher roads at speed I found.
