Nobody really knows, there are a lot of conspiracy theories but no one knows how it really was. The most popular one is that he didn't leave voluntarily and his wife Courtney helped him „leave“.

To Boddah Speaking from the tongue of an experienced simpleton who obviously would rather be an emasculated, infantile complain-ee. This note should be pretty easy to understand. All the warnings from the punk rock 101 courses over the years, since my first introduction to the, shall we say, ethics involved with independence and the embracement of your community has proven to be very true. I haven't felt the excitement of listening to as well as creating music along with reading and writing for too many years now. I feel guity beyond words about these things. For example when we're back stage and the lights go out and the manic roar of the crowds begins., it doesn't affect me the way in which it did for Freddie Mercury, who seemed to love, relish in the the love and adoration from the crowd which is something I totally admire and envy. The fact is, I can't fool you, any one of you. It simply isn't fair to you or me. The worst crime I can think of would be to rip people off by faking it and pretending as if I'm having 100% fun. Sometimes I feel as if I should have a punch-in time clock before I walk out on stage. I've tried everything within my power to appreciate it (and I do,God, believe me I do, but it's not enough). I appreciate the fact that I and we have affected and entertained a lot of people. It must be one of those narcissists who only appreciate things when they're gone. I'm too sensitive. I need to be slightly numb in order to regain the enthusiasms I once had as a child. On our last 3 tours, I've had a much better appreciation for all the people I've known personally, and as fans of our music, but I still can't get over the frustration, the guilt and empathy I have for everyone. There's good in all of us and I think I simply love people too much, so much that it makes me feel too fucking sad. The sad little, sensitive, unappreciative, Pisces, Jesus man. Why don't you just enjoy it? I don't know! I have a goddess of a wife who sweats ambition and empathy and a daughter who reminds me too much of what i used to be, full of love and joy, kissing every person she meets because everyone is good and will do her no harm. And that terrifies me to the point to where I can barely function. I can't stand the thought of Frances becoming the miserable, self-destructive, death rocker that I've become. I have it good, very good, and I'm grateful, but since the age of seven, I've become hateful towards all humans in general. Only because it seems so easy for people to get along that have empathy. Only because I love and feel sorry for people too much I guess. Thank you all from the pit of my burning, nauseous stomach for your letters and concern during the past years. I'm too much of an erratic, moody baby! I don't have the passion anymore, and so remember, it's better to burn out than to fade away. Peace, love, empathy. Kurt Cobain Frances and Courtney, I'll be at your alter. Please keep going Courtney, for Frances. For her life, which will be so much happier without me. I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU!

The album was released in 1989, but Love Buzz was a single in 1988 and the songs Floyd the Barber, Paper Cuts and Downer are all from the '88 demo with Dale Crover (from the Melvins) on drums, but were used as they were judged to be better than the versions with Chad Channing. The original vinyl album ended with Sifting. The cassette included Big Cheese at the end and the much later CD version added Downer.

You for sure gotta listen to In Utero, their final studio album. Also will you be listening to live albums? I noticed you mentioned them in this video. You ABSOLUTELY have to check out their Unplugged album live in New York, they play some of their songs acoustically in that performance and do a few covers. I'd recommend both watching and listening to that one actually, they played in a beautiful theater. And two of their bigger and more popular live albums would be "Live at the Paramount" also "Live and Loud". Cant wait to see more from you!

So far the only live performance I have watched was Smells Like Teen Spirit on some TV show with playback where Kurt badly acted like he played meanwhile Krist was spinning his bass guitar around his neck 😂 it was a form of protest and the funniest thing I might've seen a band do

This record was made on a budget of 600$ and recorded in a couple of sessions, it's representative of Nirvana's very early underground sound, raw and unfiltered.
The last two tracks weren't part of the original release and only came around later, on this recording they had a different drummer called Chad Channing, they recorded the Nevermind demos with him also until they eventually got Dave Ghrol on board, and he's the guy who started Foo Figthers after Nirvana, Kris Novoselic has been involved in collaborations and side-projects but never anything too major.

You should watch Nirvana Live at the Paramount Theater. Its shoot on film so its very pleasing to the eye. I was recorded just before they reached an unmanageable level of fame. You asked how he acts during the solos, if you watch you will know. I call his solos anti-solos and he often falls down during them. Anyway you can find the concert on youtube ans it provides a nice snapshot of Nirvana performing at a high level and having fun.

Hey, im a fairly new subscriber and got hooked ever since you did a reaction of the fame by Lady Gaga. i love the way you analyze and decypher songs and albums and treat them like experiences. i was wondering if you could react to all the Ghost albums, all of them have a whole different feel to them. Ghost explores a lot of diffrent sounds implementing a lot of 80s sound into their metal/rock heavy songs. the band performs not as themselves but as characters that follow their story of the band, and that being a satanic leader and its helpers in a sense. it is really intresting and i feel like you would really enjoy it, and it would be awesome to get your perspective on their music as well as their sound.

Tamerail, I encourage you to listen to the album Illiteracy Will Prevail, by Fecal Matter, which was basically Nirvana before Nirvana, the songs Spank Thru, Anorexorcist, and Downer, which you know about! But I hope you actually do listen, it would be very nice, but you must know that the quality is not great, so listen to the 2.0 Remasters on UA-cam, they sound better! Great day Tamerail!

This album cost Nirvana a total of $600 to record. Now, in 1988, $600 was equivalent to about $1600 today- so still rather cheap. And also, thinking of the musical landscape in 1988- this band coming out of nowhere with this album is insane. I could only imagine people's reaction to hearing something this heavy back then.

Dave says it's funny because it cost them $606 to produce and that's his number that he sees everywhere (hence his studio being called Studio 606)

These are very entertaining! Would you be interested in checking out some Metallica? They are musically heavier but for the most part less aggressive than Nirvana.
Their self-titled/black album is probably the most accessible, and a few of the songs you will likely know already from the radio or elsewhere.
Edit: Hey you even mentioned them later in video, I hadn't seen that part yet
