Don't skip The Bends. If you listen to the first three in order, you will lose your mind when you hear Ok Computer. I am so happy to see someone enjoying Pablo Honey. People judge it next to the later albums, and that isnt fair. This is a wonderful 90's album. I feel it gives us a tiny glimps into the utterly brilliant band they become.
I always hear ppl say that Creep is overrated or over played but idk man. Everytime I hear it, it makes me emotional and speaks to me on a deep level, even thought I rarely feel how the narrator does in teh song.

I wish I was 22 again and getting into Radiohead for the first time. This is one of those bands who change your standard of what constitutes good music. Since you already started with PH, I recommend listening to the albums in order as you can really hear the band grow and experiment. If you just go into the big 3 (OK Computer, Kid A and In Rainbows), you miss out on that a little bit.

I just wish Radiohead countinued making albums inspired by the bends and ok computer and even some songs on pablo honey.

Greenwood is also insanely talented at classical composition, he composed the scores to "There Will Be Blood," Oscar nominated "Phantom Thread," and a few other amazing movies. was a huge Radiohead fan, and a PTA fan--when There WIll be Blood came out I think I hit the peak of my artistic folks combine together (DDL of course as well) and it was when I was 17/18 ;D
Blow out is my favorite song of all time. If you want a to really get lost in the last instrumental part you HAVE to check out “Radiohead - Live at the Astoria (May 1994)” (posted on Radiohead’s official channel) the whole set is amazing but ending off the set with blowout was crazy. I beg you PLEASE check it out it will awake something in you!!!!

Listening to this album again for the first time in a decade, I think Blowout may be the best song on this album. If this was an album by Vampire Weekend or The Pixies, it would be ranked near the top of their catalog. But since it is compared to Ok Computer, Kid A, and The Bends, it is considered sub par. It is a great album.
Cool reaction to start clean with "Pablo Honey!" It just definitely seems like you are meant to have Radiohead's music in your life. You have nailed the way they transitioned music and ended up with their own genre all to themselves. 5 of their 9 albums have been on Rolling Stone's Top 500 Album List...(Taking such lists with a grain of salt obviously, but still, that is a pretty crazy accomplishment especially given how much they evolved their sound gradually since the early 90's).Their albums evolved each time, in all the right ways, I truly hope you keep going with the rest of the albums in order, the jump in sound to the next one "The Bends" is amazing, and then "OK Computer" is, the masterpiece - or one of the 3, "Kid A" and "In Rainbows" are all up there - me the greatest album ever made. Due to the time period they were pressured to go with the soft/loud dynamic Nirvana had made so popular...but the roots of the band show through. A 3 guitar attack- Thom Yorke is the writer, singer, and rhythm guitar player, Jonny Greenwood is the lead guitar - and keys and any random instruments he can find - he has 2 Academy Award Nominations for orchestral Movie Sound Tracks, he and Thom are the 1 and 2 - however the whole band is equally crucial, they met in High School and started playing in 1985, Ed O'Brien is Guitar 3, focuses on atmosphere and soundscapes and doubling rhythms, Colin Greenwood is Jonny's brother and is an incredible bass player and lastly Phil Selway is the drummer and his ability to maintain the wide swing of styles across the last 30 years is unreal. one thing i really like about radiohead is how they manage to have so many different styles and vibes while still feeling like the same band like, this, ok computer and kid a (and some of their other albums) should feel like they were made by completely unrelated bands because of how different they are sonically and stylistically, but they don't you can still clearly tell it's radiohead no matter if they're doing really cool alt rock or weird experimental shit or both

Pablo Honey was their most "mainstream" album, and some Radiohead fans aren't really a fan of it, but I think it's a great start and I listen to it frequently still. Some of my favorite Radiohead songs are from it. Not as many as from some of their later albums but nonetheless I wouldn't give any of them up. And you can really hear the genius of this band in how they play and how the music is arranged. They're doing some rather unique things, and these things come back again in later albums.
This album is by far my favourite Radiohead album, good to see someone giving it the respect it deserves. It took me years to get over the fact they abandoned this sound. I usually skip Creep cause im sick to death of it but hearing it through your ears i remember how powerful that chorus sounded after being lulled in by the verse on first hearing it.
Imagine what it was like growing up with this, the most beautiful torture. Enjoyed the vid, hope the people close to you find out about the UA-cam thing because you’ve got a talent for it. 👍

U Should listen to Disintegration by The Cure!, other albums are good too but disintegration is comforting, big, warm, slow and full of beauty and melody . Very well done by them in 1989!
Before the Bends came out, a few of my friends and I had Pablo Honey, probably because of Creep, but I listened to it constantly. Especially the latter half.
Very first concert I ever went to was Radiohead and Belly in the Glenn Miller Ball Room in Boulder, CO. October 1993. Fucking amazing throughout, but the highlight was the first encore song, when Thom comes out and does "Thinking About You" solo. Yeah, fucking amazing guitarist and singer and even better songwriter.
I have never seen such a positive reaction to what is widely considered either their worst or second worst album, but I am happy you enjoyed it. The Bends is far better and one of the best albums of the 90s, but then their run from OK Computer-In Rainbows is one of the greatest album runs in music history.
Here via the bends, I'm lucky to have heard the albums as released as ok computer gets so much love you miss how they got there in a way, thankfully you are listening in order I think you might find an enjoyment that some others don't.

Do they have better albums than this? Put it this way, Pablo Honey is a demo tape in comparison. It's a toss-up between Pablo Honey and The King Of Limbs for 'worst Radiohead album' but even The King Of Limbs has at least 2 tracks that are very highly regarded (Codex & Separator). My top 3 albums, in reverse order, are: 3. OK Computer, 2. A Moon Shaped Pool, 1. In Rainbows. They're pretty much faultless. In Rainbows is a masterclass of masterpieces.

It's a toss-up between Pablo Honey and The King Of Limbs for 'worst Radiohead album' but even The King Of Limbs has at least 2 tracks that are very highly regarded (Codex & Separator). My top 3 albums, in reverse order, are: 3. OK Computer, 2. A Moon Shaped Pool, 1. In Rainbows. They're pretty much faultless. In Rainbows is a masterclass of masterpieces.

I don’t even have to look at the comments to know it will be full of Radiohead fans screaming that you are listening to the worst possible choice of album with which to introduce a newcomer to the band. Pablo Honey is to Radiohead fans what Richard Nixon is to fans of the American presidency.
I bought this album fairly early on and I liked it when it came out it suffers compared to their later work but for it's time it was a good record.
You should listen to something wild like Teens Of Denial
You need to react to ok computer, and in rainbows, you are going to love it
