You my friend, are one of the reasons why kurt's legacy still continues. Superb video.
I can't express to you how tremendous of a compliment that is to me, thank you 🥹
Wat a beautifll comments
more like the ACTUAL grunge generation
😂
Also
You've gave a new life to the songs, more clean
To me sounds exactly like if they played at live and loud
@@NirvanaGuitarsYou are Good OMG 😮😮😮😮
Aunt Mari was one cool aunt!
I know right?? Go Aunt Mari!
Okay, I’m being so honest here… this is your best video ever. This is genuinely a new peak… again! The editing, info, tones, is all just phenomenal!! The editing and style of the video is so amazing, I love this!!! Hope to see more like this!!
🥹Your comment seriously made my day. This one took a lot of time and research, I went a little overboard with trying to do history and tone all in one lol 😅 It really means a lot that you enjoyed it, can't thank you enough for the kind words!!
If such a box set existed, my vote for a title would be: "I think he could have some kind of future in music if he keeps at it." That's priceless! Really great video, excellent work!
Trade in the guitars for shovels
In other words this is about Kurt’s past and new beginnings as a vocalist, song writer and guitarist which is pretty cool to know about.
Bambi Slaughter is no bullshit one of my favorite Cobain songs, ever. That riff is dirty and raw and I’m absolutely here for it.
I like sound of dentage, laminated effect and blathers log
Spank thru, class of 86, control, and punk rocker are good too.
@@Never267 I forgot about spank thru and downer
@@themoonisdusty They're all good.
@@Never267 yeah
Really appreciate your commitment to Nirvana. I saw them Dec 3, 1993 in New Orleans. Haphazard trip that I extended just to see Nirvana. I was hooked in early 92. (Breeders opened). Honestly, your contribution to Nirvana's legacy cannot be understated. Ive bought Fender Cobain Jag and pedals from your videos. Thanks so much for keeping the legacy alive!!
This video is so awesome. UA-cam is severely lacking in videos about Fecal Matter, so you've filled that void nicely.
Funny to find you here
@@Braineaters8 I should say the same
@@layne05 Should be expected tbh, hella based of you
@@Braineaters8 :)
This is amazing! A beautiful tribute to the music of Kurdt
Thank you so much!
I have always been interested in the fecal matter demo, this is definitely one of your best videos!
Thank you so much!! I've always been interested in the pre-Nirvana stuff too, I wish we had more info about Organized Confusion 😔
4:42 ...between punk and metal. Dude that is a daring but very accurate description of the real Kurt Cobain sound!! (I mean his songs up until 'Bleach' - which is about where he started more and more to focus and specific structures and ultimately create Nevermind). This is why I recommend 'Incesticide' to anyone not really familiar with his music. To me that is just the full spectrum. Kurt is the main ingredient though, the songs rarely work for someone else.
Pop, too. Kurts melodies were VERY pop. Not so much in the very early stuff, but definitely later... Very tuneful and melodic. His distorted scream voice gave it that raw edge. If he didnt have that, he would have sounded exactly like Michael Stipe. Nirvana were like a punk rock grunge noise pop band. They were totally their own thing
Good job Eric! They should certainly make the recordings available on audio platforms. It would be a nice tribute
Thank you! I hope so, it’d be a great release to pay tribute to the 30th anniversary of Kurt’s passing 🤞🏻
yes please; let us hear Kurt coughing haha
Yes, dude!! I had no idea Kurt used a Superfuzz. The Behringer fuzz is awesome. I thought I was the only one who knew about mode 1.5 (discovered it by accident messing around with the pedal,) but then years later saw a bunch of youtube vids talking about it. I have the ultra rare first edition blue led version, lol. Used to gig w/ it, never had any issues, & it even survived a flood in my basement!
That's crazy! The pedal and casing itself does feel pretty cheap so that's good to know it can survive all that!
@@NirvanaGuitars there are 3rd party metal casing you can get for it, if you are willing to do a little bit of tinkering
@@-jank-willsonwhere can I buy it?
Im lucky to have seen Melvins in the Ozma days a bunch of times in Nashville. The reason Kurt never joined Melvins was that Buzzo introduced Kurt to a drummer named Dave, Kurt heard Dave play, and the rest is history. Im proud to have witnessed small slivers of its beginnings. Those were good days
You've got your timelines really mixed up. Buzz introduced Dave and Kurt in 1990. Nirvana was already a band for 3 years, had recorded one album officially, a second unofficially, and had been through like 76000 drummers by that point. Kurt wanted to be in the Melvins, or a band like the Melvins, when he was in his late teens because there was nobody else doing that and he thought it was rad.
This poser is making sht up lol
Great video, I’ve always thought it was crazy that he wrote spank thru that early, one of his best songs in my opinion.
The same goes for Downer.
I've waited almost 2 years for this. Thanks for everything you've done!
I absolutely love these tone recreation videos you do, this one in particular felt more like I was watching a documentary about Kurt rather than a UA-cam video. Now I can’t help but wonder what Bleach would sound like if it was recorded this way.
Wow I can't tell you how much that means to me, thank you!! That would be a great "what if" tone video I like that idea 😉
According to Kurt, He wanted to re-record everything on fecal matter with Jack Edino. But ultimately felt pressured by the 70s rock trend going on in Washington, so he ended up writing all the songs on bleach to fit in with the new Seattle sound.
I love this video! i love how its a guitar tone video but also a video on the history of fecal matter.
Thanks for the "secret" setting on the Behringer!
This is so awesome. Thanks for making all these videos, they're swell!
Absolutely outstanding , I’m literally blown away
Thank you as always my friend 😃
Great to someone do this! I’m so happy to see your tone vid on this demo tape! My favourite song on hear is by far DOWNER I just love it
i was blown away when i say this video, i never watched one as great as yours. i love it so much and i recommend it to my sister. great work!!
This is probably one of the best videos I've seen about Kurt and Fecal Matter, I've actually learned a bunch of stuff I'd never known before.
This was a great video. I have to agree with you about being surprised they've never released a sort of "early recordings" boxset with the Fecal Matter tape in full, it seems like a no brainer considering they're basically released everything else Kurt ever recorded. It would probably be one of the few of those Cobain demo recording sets that I would actually be interested in buying. As for the songs on the tape itself, I've dug it ever since I listened to it on UA-cam years back. You got really darn close with the guitar tones in this video, makes me want to consider grabbing another Behringher fuzz again.
your videos keep getting better, discovered them last july or smth looking for bleach tones and immediately subbed
Great video! Your tones are absolutely amazing!
Thanks so much!
This video was a delight to view and listen throughout. Amazing work.
Thanks for the kind words and for watching!
ERIC!! Fantastic video again as always! Excellent work!! I’m so thankful you let me help you with Nirvana information in anyway I can! Your tone was so good on this!
JOHN my dude I should be thanking YOU!! Your guidance and insight has been invaluable, especially for pedals! Can't thank you enough for all the info!
@@NirvanaGuitars absolutely no problem at all!! Always glad to help
i love your content and even got myself a jaguar after hearing how well it sounded it sounds amazing with your tone recreation settings
YES congrats on the Jaguar! You made a great choice, my KC Jaguar is my best guitar 🙌
@Ben Miller does she have ownership over fecal matter shit?
@Dexter Morgan same as how she "doesn't know what happened" to Kurt's "missing" $38 million.
@Dexter Morgan can you explain who Dan Schneider is? I've never heard of him.
Can you make a full play through of each fecal matter songs? Would love it!!!
This is amazing research, thank you so much.
This is such a good video i watched it now 3 times, please keep going with this type of content!
Awesome! I learned so much from this video.
Had lots of fun listening and watching this video. Thank you for what you do to preserve Kurt's legacy. ✌🏻
Thank you for the kind words and for watching! 🙏🏻
This is just amazing, been waiting for someone to recognize this tape and how influential it is
Thank you for this video! I have always loved this band and the songs so I would to try and cover a song or two in the future
This is awesome! Thanks for doing this!
I have immense respect for your dedication.
Thank you 🙂
Dude this was such a cool video thank you so much
Bro, I swear I'm not kidding, today I had a dream that you released this exact video and now suddenly a notification appears on your phone and you really saw it
That’s crazy!! It was destiny ✨
Oh cool I was actually really hoping you’d make a vid about this era! :D
Yay! Hope you liked it 😊
It’s really accurate to what I know. The guitar is definitely direct, or at least I think so, because I’ve recorded with a direct guitar and it sounds really similar. I didn’t know that they played any live shows though, so thats news to me
Good detective work , and very helpfull for recreating those magic tones.
Amazing work, I only knew a bit about the Fecal Matter demo but this brought the full picture, would love to see a full tone cover of Illiteracy Will Prevail if it’s possible
Great educational and historical video, thanks!
Love the video. Really well crafted!
More please!
Green River next?
I would LOVE to help with any ideas and info I can add
Awesome video, great analysis.
Yes this video is fantastic with great info and of course I would instantly buy that box set too!
Come on Nirvana LLC PLEASE release an early Kurt album or boxset 🤞
Thank you for revealing the Fuzz 1.5 hidden feature! I think Trent Reznor has an insane amount of hidden stuff nobody has figured out yet! It's always extremely interesting to find out about secrets hidden within creativity! DaVinci's Last Supper painting is full of them!
Just came across your channel & I gotta say this is a great video! As a beginner guitarist, I look forward to buying my first pedal through your Amazon storefront so I can recreate my favorite nirvana songs. Thanks a lot & rock on🤘🏽
Enjoyed every second of this video and I’ve learned a lot,.. thanks!
This one took a lot of time and research so I really appreciate that! Glad you enjoyed it smile 😃
Keep these videos coming great content!
You didn't learn me anything because I'm like you a big fan of nirvana and I searched everything I could find on pre-bleach Kurt Cobain era and. I just wanna thank you for being so kind and share all these stories to the world. Thank you for your work man.
i've been waiting for this video
for a long time
Hope you enjoyed it and that it was worth the wait 😀
Pure History we need this for a big set release
Haven't watch it entirely yet but i bet that this is going to be an amazing video
Very nice video!!
I really enjoyed since the beginning.
That truly means a lot coming from you man, I have always LOVED your channel and collection!!
This is first video from you for 2 months (apart from lithium) that really impessed me. Keep it on!
Happy to hear you enjoyed this one and Lithium 😃
@@NirvanaGuitars Pine street and dive vere cool too. I see your progress with every video. Thank you for your work
это потрясающе! спасибо за видео. надеюсь мы когда нибудь услышим ту запись Курта "organised confusion". не знал, что она существует. я думал она просто утерена!
Thank you for this great video
In those short audio clips I could hear Flyd the Barber , and the tone for Dive on the Bleach album, and also, I think the song Swap Meet from Incesticide. Very nice 🤘
i was JUST going to comment that you should do a fecal matter tone video. great job yet again!!
Read your mind 😉 Thanks!
Amazing video dude love it
Thank you!
This video is amazing! 🤘
What a wonderful music historian! Great video ❤
Thank you so much!
Finally, someone did research and documentated this. You know, if you have questions...just ask Dale. He was there for the recordings...what I've heard Dale say in interviews is he plugged directly into the recorder.
I watched this video like 10 times I can’t get enough of it
I was waiting for this video.
Hope it was worth the wait!
your version of Made not Born is so damn good, so tight but still raw
Shout out from France, amazing job. interesting and useful, thank you Guy !!!
Thank you for the shoutout and for watching 😃
This really struck me, thank you. I found Nirvana (in Whitehorse Yukon) when Nevermind came out, quickly grabbed Bleach…but have never gone back this far.
Good timing as well! I’m working on my guitar sound:)
Thank you !
Great man, very enlightening. never knew any of this sh*t and been a Nirvana fan since they first broke thro. Good stuff, well presented too thumb 👍
0:55 that tone recreation is awesome btw I have a request you should do the skid row nirvana demo tone
Would you ever do a video on Jason Evermans tone and or Pat Smears tone? I love Pats especially!
That would be fun! A red Hagstrom modded to Pat specs is on my wishlist
@@NirvanaGuitars and a strat
Sound of dentage is one of my favorite kurt cobain songs. Seriously a pretty dang good album. Most people wouldn’t like it. But I love the hare raw tone.

Thanks for the info
Wow😮. Well done! Definitely subscribing. 😎✊💚🎸✨
HOly shit I thought i was a giant Nirvana fan. You show there are levels. I bow to your devotion, well done
I’d kill to have a video like your Ivy League video where you break down the way Kurt played all these songs on the demo.
Awesome!!! I never heard some of thse! Love laminated effect!!! Ths is insane I may just cover wht u hear!

Great video
Dale was a slammin' drummer.
He still is! Melvin’s are still going, 40 years strong 🤘🏻
I had no idea about the secreed mod on the pedal, thaanks man!!
Great band name. btw, "Kurt and Courtney" is such a great doc. Nick Broomfield also has an amazing doc on Biggie and Tupac.
