He did many things in secret for her..paying her brother in law's debts and redeeming her family's shame, bringing Bingley to her sister plus realising the flaws in his character....but her love did start after beholding Pemberly and she did giggle with Jane on this 😂😂
“I never wish to be departed from you from this day on” ….just did it for me as well as the very end of the movie when he called (and repeatedly kissed) her “Mrs. Darcy”❤❤❤
I always wondered about the significance of her kissing his hand, but I think I've got it now. His first proposal he was rude about the inferiority of her birth among other things, but this time he's humble so she is free to also be humble because he destroyed the need for her to protect her position. Beautiful.
I read another interpretation the same kind of concept but somebody said “by her kissing his hand and telling him how cold it was, was her way of saying she wants to take care of him cause she knows he’s been waiting a long time.” There was more too it than that, and it went into detail with some of the stuff you did but I really enjoy the idea she knows he stood out all night waiting to decide if he should propose again.
Someone else said her taking his hand this time is because in the first prosal he ask her to take his hand and she rejected him this time she took his hand
THE BEST !! WHY WASN'T THIS UP FOR BEST PICTURE OSCAR AND BEST ACTOR ? SHE WAS UP FOR BEST ACTRESS AND DIDN'T WIN !! THIS IS THE BEST ENTERTAINMENT CINEMA HAS TO OFFER !! A SMART , INTELLIGENT MOVIE TREAT !!
You have to realize what the line meant. Darcy is a rich man and can go anywhere by coach. The fact that he walked 3 miles (which is would be like walking from the end of Nebraska to the beginning of Colorado for him) is a huuuuge deal.
Not true. It happened to me. But one year ago this very day 4-22-23. We were in a fatal car crash. My husband was the fatality. It happens ladies. Fall in love with your best friend. My heart is so 💔💔💔😭😭😭. I'm lost.
They were madly in love with each other. Darcy loved her very passionately and so did Lizzie. Love turns the heart ❤️ and minds 🧠 as a result of Empathy

Completely in character for someone who consistently hides his true feelings. To be this vulnerable would be intensely uncomfortable for Mr. Darcy and the nervous blinking added credibility to this delivery.
I've seen him in i.terviews and it's just the way he is he blinks quite a lot. How unfair to deem his performance as unconving because of a natural trait of his poor soul 😂
@@Thinking.Of.Some.Handledisagree. I think Matthews acting here was impeccable. I get chills when he stutters I love you. This Darcy had really bad social anxiety..the 1995 is brilliant. But i really loved Matthews version of FW Darcy.
@@TheHomesteadingHobbit even though this steers away a bit from the book, i still like this darcy more. And i agree this darcy has really bad social anxiety but then the 1995 one almost was a robot and very expressionless, which does not do justice to the book either. In short, we have not really had a book appropriate Mr darcy lol.
I wish people would actually read the book and understand that the 1995 BBC version is the closest version of it. It's the best version in my opinion. This scene is rewritten and this version is the least liked version for me. 🙄
To each their own and although I've loved the 1995 version I feel this darcy is a bit more interesting. I've seen people qualify his take on the character as " vulnerable " and I admit it's fitting. It's charming
@@cloudcampos4555 yes that's correct. he's exactly that. I have also read the book (reading it again for the 3rd time) What i mean is, the 1995 Darcy was extremely expressionless when he did talk. For example in the book, when Darcy makes the marriage proposal to Lizzy he's assertive, arrogant and and is described as showing a range of emotions throughout (like gets angry when Lizzy rejects him, and his countenance is described as changing throughout) The 1995 Darcy keeps the same tone throughout, the same while confessing his love for Lizzy, the same while he gets a rejection. It feels unnatural. While the 2005 Darcy is shown as maybe more vulnerable, but atleast he come off as more human like, if that makes sense. His expressions and tone of voice do justice. I hope I'm able to get my point across, I'm not a native English speaker and still working on the language:)
His voice shook after he declared his love before she responded
He humbled himself that's why she said yes

I am in love with the way he stuttered on “I love you”
Beautiful scene. Almost as great as the “Mrs. Darcy, Mrs. Darcy….” scene.
I must have seen this movie over 20 times and i still notice a new subtle detail every watch. Love it.

Very brave and sweet man
I (male) just sit there and scream to him on my iPad: „UUH JUST SHT THE FCK UP MAN!“ 😂🤣
Can’t even listen to this stuff

My SIL quoted Mr. Darcy in his wedding vows to my daughter ❤️❤️
He has raised the bar for young men everywhere. People were crying all over the place
I will stop everything to watch this movie- one of the best!!
Ditto
Mr Darcy is the reason women have high and impossible expectations in love, he ruined love for everyone of us 😢❤
No men ruin love

Agreed. I thought the same thing!
If there is fairness in this world, she must be nominated the most beautiful woman ever.

Well your hands are cold
Elizabeth Bennet like Mr Darcy love Elizabeth
Quite intrigues me how I never imagine the characters like in the film when reading the book.
But one word from you will silence me forever 😮❤
I love this part❤
perfection
It can just happen in novels or movies. Not in real life
Oh dear, be healed! ❤
I mean… I lowkey disagree bc of my parents story. And they go engaged after 10 days of knowing each other!

Although I liked this actor as Darcy, the writing took liberties that ruined the moment. You don’t re-write Austen.
I really dislliked the stupid "Well then, your hands are cold." Like what the mess is that?
@@ForeverSweetx3agreed.. I hated the your hands are cold. But his confession here gets me, even though they took liberties.
@@ForeverSweetx3 exactly. "Your hands are cold" is so highschool drama romance lol.

Also, when did they marry?
Her kissing his hands ruins the scene along with her heavy eye makeup😢
Love this movie. The soundtrack is also me.One of the all time great.
How could he love her when he hasn't really dated her yet?
The blinking caused it to be unconvincing
The way he studders with I love.... just didn't seem affectionate or believable
