Seriously, what would you put in Starcade? I'm actually out of ideas.
And a big thanks to my sponsor Ye Olde Proppe Shoppe

Virtual reality machines lol
Wreck it Ralph arcade machines?
They used to have this motion simulator where you could create your own virtual roller coaster, you can bring that back.
You forget the secret of ye old prop?
I would put a new Horizons where Autopia is now and with what you have left
I feel like a WALL-E dark ride would work well in a “solarpunk” tomorrowland. Even more of a reason to preserve our planet instead of letting it go to waste.
Agreed. I would theme Autopia with the after credits scenes from Wall-E
Pure genius. 🥺
Total agree, and love your idea. That is probably the most relevant I.P. to the solarpunk aesthetic. Maybe start out with the waste land as a kind of 'this is a possible dark future, and transition to a recovering world (like in the credits) to not make it so depressing, and end in the solarpunk Tomorrowland to be a kind of 'this is what a bright future can look like, if you make it possible!'
@@MidnightMaeve I love this narrative.
That’s what I was thinking
I love the idea of solar punk, and I think it would be a great way to introduce sustainability and eco friendliness to the parks. I doubt Disney would include things like homes for native bees, but maybe hydroponics in the food areas, more native plants in the planters, and education about those things. The hydroponics idea might become outdated as people try new farming methods out, but it could still be themed nicely and updating should be fairly cheap
BORING!
Anyone can go to a local science museum.
Hydroponics are a big part of Living with the Land in Epcot. I feel like the ride would do well with the California crowd!
One thing, if the theme is future and greenery, where’s Wall-E? A film that fits both of the themes? Anything from a dark ride or simulator or peoplemover could fit
Come to think of it, you might put together a dark ride with guests riding on larger versions of the things that the “large” humans were always rising around on. I’m gonna have to rewatch that movie now to flesh out the details. Excellent idea.!!
I was really hoping it would just say “add back the peoplemover” then end
Tomorrowland really does need an update, and this is so well done
Imagineer’s should hire Offhand Disney
It really doesn’t. Tomorrowland is my favorite land, I don’t understand what’s wrong with it
@@michaeltnk1135 egregiously outdated
@@edamame1443 How
"Tomorrowland has been the problem of every single Disney park"
EuroDisney: I don't know what you're talking about.
Yes and no. Hyperspace mountain is inferior to the original. And PhillarMagic doesn’t fit in this area. But I love the Jules Vernes architecture
I thought the same thing. I love all the Jules Verne theming
Disneyland Paris's Discoveryland does have a problem. A Wall-E and Eve statue, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Mickey's Philharmagic in an unaltered Imagination Institute theatre that doesn't have the appropriate screen and has no "Duck butt", and finally Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain.
@@EspenSGX Yeah they pretty much destroyed it over the years. Instead of going all in and add Soaring, journey to the center of the earth and 20.000 leagues under the sea they destroyed it.
@@patrickmuhlbeyer9262 Well the two you mentioned are still own by the Oriental Company via Disney imagineering.
It's ironic that retro-future Tomorrowland is really the only version that would be relevant for any extended period of time. The only way to "future-proof" it is to go backwards. YesterTomorrowland.
So basically Hill Valley: 2015. You'll have hoverboards and flying cars but the TVs are still CRTs and smartphones don't exist.
DiscoveryLand at Disneyland Paris
I think the entire premise that Tomorrowland needs to be future-proof is flawed, and incorrect.
should just call it anachronitopia, the land that has transcended time and space
Oooo a retro-themed Tomorrowland would really be interesting, maybe in the vibe of Paris but from the beginning of the Computer Era and the possible future? Go completely into the vibes of computer aesthetics, especially the green/blue motherboards can be timeless (especially since HP and Dell still look like they came from the 90s). A retro-future would be really cool, especially if they focus on computer parts and such. Maybe take inspiration from the Sci-Fi from that period, with either those Garish Colours (Tron OG), sharp edges and glass, or dark but with bold statements. I'd honestly adore something inspired by tech, but it would have to be refitted, not just an overlay. But that's the impossible dream, isn't it. Some bright neon colours with circuits everywhere probably isn't everyone's cup of tea oop-
This has all been said before but i don’t understand how LITERAL DISNEY doesn’t get that the only two ways to make tomorrowland definitively futuristic forever would be either to reference past ideas of the future like 80s retro-future, or steampunk, or *ahem jules verne,* OR you could look at the few aesthetic things and ideas that have always been futuristic like architectural minimalism and unnatural cleanliness, edit: and eco-sustainability
Something the creative directors of Disneyland wanted to in the 90s was do an "interplanetary showcase" entirely divorced from earth. There was going to be alien gardens, robot employees, alien ran attractions, etc much like an IP-less version of how Galaxy's Edge is now. I think that would of aged very well.
I think an interesting happy medium between OG Tomorrowland and your Solar Punk vision would be the future depicted in Meet the Robinsons! Granted, it takes place in 2037, which would make it outdated fairly soon, but it's bright and bubbly and grassy and already pretty heavily based on Tomorrowland (it's called Todayland, for pete's sake, haha) so you wouldn't have to change many rides to fit the theme.
That’s literally what I was thinking of the whole time 😭 imagine if it was like a Meet The Robinsons Land
Tbch that’s what I thought they were originally trying to go for with Tomorrowland whenever I went to Disneyland when I was little
Rebecca Paiotti Da Silva me too!! i saw meet the robinsons at downtown and i always think of it when i’m in tomorrowland hehe favorite movie
Honestly they should go full 50s retro futuristic for the land, take a page from Ray Bradbury's book, make the advancements actually futuristic but make the aesthetic more in tune with the original, keep the retro rockets but make them go to the next biggest terrestrial body, rip out the forced IP's and make them futuristic, maybe make the submarine ride one about exploring the potential of undersea living and research.
Also give a nod to 30s sci fi future visions too like flash Gordon and buck Rogers or sky capt
@@josephcontreras8930 that was what they were going for with Tomorrowland 2055, with an Art Deco feeling. It got scrapped.
Someone get this man a job in Imagineering. This is absolutely incredible!
Yes he's an Idea Man like Disney himself. Needs a frugal brother to reign in all his expense issues lol.
Instead of a Big Hero Six ride, I would really love a Wall-E dark ride where you get a tour around the Axiom and (potentially) get chased down by Auto as you try to get to one of the escape pods.
Doesn't that sound cool?
Sounds amazing to me.
To build on your Solarpunk ideas, I think most of the stuff in the land should be either electric or solar powered, and most of the food should be plant-based to really drive in the message of sustainability being the future.
Also you could replace the merch store with a store that sells plant terrariums that have models of different rides and lands (and they could charge extra for families to plant their own seeds in the land with a label, so then kids could learn about the importance of the environment, and people could have their own spot of Tomorrowland, because “everyone has a part in creating a better tomorrow TM”)
And instead of the Buzz/ Big Hero 6 ride, I think an original dark ride about Skippy from Alien Encounter escaping like an alien zoo into Tomorrowland (where its green and open and alien friendly!) could tie better into the land (and Skippy would sell a lot more plushies and merch).
I think that mission space should be a WALL·E dark ride not going to lie I think it would be a good fit
that could be a good replacement for star tours
I like all your ideas. Especially getting rid of Autopia. Nothing I want to do more than sit in LA traffic and then ride little gas powered cars that literally stink from exhaust fumes. Can I also get a plug in for an updated Horizons? I still miss that ride.
@@deadpoolrlz9685 That was my idea
Bro this is where the moneys need to go Didney
Ah yes. Didney 🤌🏽
@@lukesoliman647 as someone who loves the Disney theme parks and their history, I think the term “Didney” pretty much represents their current business state with the parks lol
That’s a phenomenal redesign of Tomorrowland if I ever heard one. It all sounds great. Yes Disneyland deserves the Tron Coaster. The people mover re-track is perfect, Big Hero 6 is an interesting choice to bring into “New Tomorrowland”, although I would also like to see something with WALL-E. But yeah, fantastic ideas.
Well, since you have Tron...you could actually make the opening/facade to the entrance and gift shop Flynn's Arcade. May not fit PERFECTLY with the solarpunk aesthetic, but it fits perfectly with the Tron theme, and you get an Arcade! Add a wee Retro on the inside, maybe with a little bit of solarpunk on the outside...boom, gift shop with a theme and fits with Tron!
Is it because I'm a major Tron fan and would love an actual Flynn's Arcade with Tron merch? Yes, yes it is. And I love arcades because Norway has none anymore and I want arcades >:(
I love someone that likes Flynn's arcade too.
Have the Peoplemover track run into a tunnel alongside TRON, recreating the old World of TRON tunnel. Bring the Lightcycle track out of the main building, and run its length farther into Tomorrowland, extending the ride time and utilizing empty space. House the extended track into tunnels with a 2-way mirror effect that would allow the public to see the cycles zipping by, but ensures the riders stay immersed in the experience without looking at the park. This could be enhanced with projections, lighting, and fans like Space Mountain that keeps the illusion of speed in certain areas. The main building would be smaller and free up space for another ride. Just saying.
I would love to see this solar punk aesthetic combined with some fifties futurism. Would love to see a full service restaurant with this theme in mind, serving up delicious but out of this world food. In addition, it would also have different shows, including music, comedy, and games. “Silver Lights on Tomorrowland” I think would be a neat name for it.
I will say, when I went to Disneyland for the first time, knowing that just above me was the abandoned Peoplemover was both sad and motivating. I would love to see it return to form and I think the idea of opening up the central walkway is brilliant.
This was great! Light Speed uses the Alcubiere warp drive. Monorail and Peoplemover are both maglev. The whole land is energy neutral. The food is GOURMET with hydroponic vegetarian and vegan options. Love the jetpacks!
Love all these ideas, especially the sleek, solar punk concept combined with the kinetic design of the Tron ride and EPCOT’s Living with the Land aesthetic. Adding real world inspiration from things like Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay would make it memorable and appealing, with curved accessible walkways and many points of interest at different eye levels.
Has anyone ever heard of Darwin IV? It's a speculative evolution/Sci Fi book, you can look it up online. Imagine if Disney remodeled Tomorrowland to take place in the very future, with alien/Evolved Human Cast members (in prosthetics), organic architecture, and other futuristic elements. Maybe even post-Human Tomorrowland. I thought it would be an interesting (and weird) idea
a disney ride based on speculative evolution sounds very interesting
Haven’t heard of the book, sounds very interesting tho, but I had some similar ideas, especially with the “evolved human cast members” and the “organic architecture”
Good to know I’m not the only one that thought that ☺️
I hope you have a great day
@@rebeccapaiottidasilva4054 Thanks, and you too. That would certainly be a quite different and a nicely weird idea
Cant stop thinking about how San Fransokyo would’ve been such a good addition to California Adventure, ya know, assuming anybody actually wanted a California themed theme park
why is this such an underrated comment
It's actually coming to Pacific Wharf at DCA.
Thank you so much for making this. I deeply appreciate that you don't start from the common false premise that an aspirational Tomorrowland of the Future cannot work, but instead seek ways to show that it does. I think you succeeded. This would be a marvelous update to the land.
However, that type of Tomorowland would need to be updated every 20 years or less. It's becoming more difficult to keep Walt's original vision of Tomorrowland relevant without renovations for longer periods of time.
I love all your ideas!! I would include; space mountain’s old entry way where it was in the front & not hidden in the back. There should be a night show that has all those drones that do the pictures in the sky & do classic Disney characters! The Tron rollercoaster most likely would take up a lot of Autotopia’s space so if anything put a food place/gift shop around there themed Tron.
As soon as I heard “solarpunk” I was absolutely 100% in. This idea is great!
I don’t even go to Disney, but I like these videos.
So..as an old guy that grew up with Disneyland..worked at Disneyland and still goes to Disneyland bringing the People Mover back is high on my list..it would be so nice for us old people to have something that moves at our speed..oh I love all the coaster type rides but a nice slow ride like the People Mover would be nice..
Thanks for the video
Rj
I really would be happy if they just brought back Tomorrowland 1967..and left it
BTW..there really isn't much in the way of backstage space there but there is tons of space in Tomorrowland that is not used..little used ..or could be put to better use..
I prefer Disneyland Paris discoveryland (its Tomorrowland), with its timeless Jules Vernes architecture.
I always envisioned Autopia with a Wall-E theming (from the after credits). Also I agree that they can steal some SciFi stuff from Epcot. We have PhillarMagic in this area, I would prefer a more fitting show (I imagine an interactive inside out show where you choose how the person should react in a situation and the story plays differently)
I absolutely love this, like halfway between Animal Kingdom and old Future World as a theme.
I have been saying for YEARS that Tomorrowland needs to showcase the green future, bravo Offhand
I would turn Starcade (both levels) and the Magic Eye Theatre space into an actual "House Of The Future" (looking like a house, not what Innoventions was) modeled after WandaVision and Westview. Part interactive mystery/adventure, part genuine showcase of things to come.
Interesting concept. Instead of shrinking Tron, I’d expand it to travel around other attractions in Tomorrowland like The People Mover. It would bring a lot of kinetic energy to the land that is missing.
I'm so glad you're as obsessed with The People Mover as me! I was fortunate to ride it for my first and only time mere months before it was closed forever. (Rode the rockets when they were there - ugh.) I took my fam to WDW this year... While theirs was still closed. I had planned our dates after they said it would be open, and then they postponed it again right before we left. 😭
Starcade was my favorite place in Disney back when I was a kid in the 80s. So...I'd bring it back.
Because back when it was there, they had the MOST advanced arcade games that we couldn't find in our standard arcades.
I love the solar punk theme, especially since the vegetation in Tomorrowland currently is all edible fruit trees and other sustainable plants, due to Walt wanting all of the plants in Tomorrowland to be of consumption 👏🏻☺️
Wow I love your ideas! Especially the solar punk white and blue retro aesthetic for the theme because it’s what I was thinking as well. Now I really feel like making a bunch of concept art of my own version of Tomorrowland. Hopefully one day we have a super cool updated Tomorrowland. 😊💙✨
I love the solar punk vibe and the plants, everything about this was so perfect- Disney needs to hire you as an imagineer and they need to do what you say! They seem to have lost the original vision of the future in Tomorrowland
If they would just make Tomorrowland a steampunk retro futuristic land then it wouldn't need an update every ten years. Just make it like the future of Jules Verne's imagination, like Paris did, but better. IDK why they haven't done something like that
They started that then abandoned it midstream.
@@lovinlorne that's so frustrating
If They Would Just Make Futuristic Alien Tomorrowland Cybertron Universe Age A Very Good Perfect Steampunk Retro Futuristic Cybertron Alien Land Heroes Universe Then It Wouldn't Need An Update Every Ten After Years. Just Make It Like The Good Cybertron Future Of Alien And Robot Jules Verne's Futuristic Cybertron Alien Imagination Heroes Universe. Like NASA TTA Mission Force One Connect And Protect Paris Universe Did But Better. IDK Why They Haven't Well Done Something Like That
100% agree with your new Tomorrowland. As far as what to put in Starcade, maybe a “discovery zone” for the younger kids or a cool interactive walkthrough involving the sustainability of food and protecting the environment?
What would REALLY tie all of this together (other than a rug) is if you developed a storyline to encompass ALL the attractions that you mentioned so that the land feels more cohesive. Maybe it is a future member of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers, and all of the ride are different planets or encounters they faced on their journey. It needs a slight push from our journey into the future and take more of a fantasy/whimsical vision of the future that is rooted in reality...slightly. Well done
The “Solarpunk” aesthetic definitely reminds me of futuristic 70s sci-fi films, namely “Silent Running.” I think it’s the only way to go with Tomorrowland and I’m surprised they haven’t done some sort of retrofuturistic remodel by now.
I really like the solar punk idea. For the starcade, it would be cool if it had an updated (and updateable) VR playground. Almost treat it like the old Disney quest, where there are a bunch of mini rides, all through VR, so that you could spend a couple hours in there and feel like you did even more rides than you did in your whole day in the park.
Love your video and ideas! Shoutout to Sulli's comment about Wall-E also because that would fit sooooo well with the theme of the land!
My true soul sibling. I started designing lands for Disney at 7, submitted some at 8, started reimagineering parks at 9, and I still redesign the MK Parks and invent my own parks.
Well done! I love the idea of the Big Hero Six ride, and Light Speed harkening back to Inner Space. I'm guessing you need to keep the store, but maybe Starcade can become something like Epcot's old Club Cool? Tasting drinks from around the world is something everyone loves ... and yes, Beverly would need to make an appearance.
I love it! Expecially the Big hero 6 ride!
Ninety percent in agreement with the improvements. Need some version of Autopia though, because, even if it's not "futuristic ", it's the Future for the children who drive it. My kids (and now grandchildren) loved it. Maybe a combination with the Autopia vehicles going through Tron like the buckets used to go through the Matterhorn?
I would love a wall-e ride that enters at the entrance to Tomorrowland and exits in the center, after they cleaned up the world.
I also had an idea that disney could hire out space to companies to show off their future products. Constantly updating, free/profit for disney, advertising for companies.
Offering space for companies to advertise new tech is kinda what Innoventions was, and my family loved it!
Disney needs to hire you immediately. current Disneyland Tomorrowland is a travesty. your Solarpunk vision sounds fantastical
People mover is a great overview of Tomorrowland. It's especially a great intro for people who have never been there before.b I was the first thing I did when I went to wdw, not just cause I missed it so much in Disneyland
Solarpunk Tomorrowland is a galaxy-brain level idea!
The most special moment I had in Disney was seeing the fireworks launch while peacefully riding in the people mover. Simply spectacular
I think they should've kept with the steampunk theme. It's not futuristic but it doesn't need to be, it allowed the area to be stylized and interesting without constantly having to push forward. Retro-futurism is charming, actual futurism is just strange, and it creates things like the epcot monorail station.
Dallin wants to turn Tomorrowland into an Empire of the Sun album and I'm all here for it!
Imagine a whole Disney park called like the “Disney park vault” where they just have all the rides they’ve closed in the past that everyone wants back
Sounds like Defunctland!!! 😎
some nice Offhand content for a nice Saturday :)
also please do a "how to fix frontierland." not that it needs it, but because there's one ride in the whole and...
Love this so much. My only contribution is to make the dark ride more like a hyperspace Horizons, and move Buzz or Hero to DCA. It feels weird to have a single cartoonish ride inside the best Tomorrowland concept ever. :-)
If you want to keep cars, changing them to hydrogen fuel cells would be appropriate for the near future. You can make them guided drive as well, to prevent the usual banging around when you have a child driving.
The FCVs would fit in CA, since they’re available primarily in CA in the US & not a lot of people have been exposed to them. I know it would improve my odds of traveling to visit Disneyland.
A Pimm Labratories Adventure through Quantum Space would be awesome.
Lagoon/autopia is perfect for a Living with the Land type ride, showcasing different ways to grow food sustainably and futuristically.
If it was up to me I'd include some sort of Jules Verne attraction. Maybe a walk thru like Paris has or maybe a new story that hasn't had an attraction yet like a new retelling of From the Earth to the Moon.
If It Was Up To Me I'd Include Some Sort Of Alien And Robot Jules Verne Heroes Arrived Future Attraction. Maybe A Walk Thru Like NASA TTA Mission Force One Connect And Protect Paris Universe Has Or Maybe A New Created Futuristic Alien Tomorrowland Federation Cybertron Story Universe That Hasn't Had An Futuristic Attraction Yet Like A New Created Retelling From The Good Futuristic Cybertron Future Earth To The Good Futuristic Alien Cybertron Space Station Moon Heroes Universe.
First off, cool job. Really enjoyed hearing your ideas, and yes, the PM must make a return. The one advantage the DL PM had over the MK version was elevation changes. Now I know that was because the two rides had different propulsion systems, so I wonder if the magnetic drive system could be made in such a way as to provide elevation variances. That would be an advancement on the ride’s tech and fit in with TL idea of progress. Plus it adds an element of thrill that makes the PM just that much more of an exciting ride. Just a thought…
BRILLIANT! I think the People Mover would be great as a “grand circle tour” of the land highlighting attractions. A dark ride water ride is a great idea, I mean, look how well Pirates and Small World work! 😎
Good idea for space station X2, but I would call it Space Station X1. You could have Space Mt. , Rocket to the Moon, Mission to Mars fly bye while you eat. If you want take out the lagoon you have to rip out Autoputa as the cars are driving on the roof of the sub dark ride building.
A couple of thoughts: 1) I would prefer to see Peoplemover replace the trams from the parking garage(s) than still be a ride in the park. 2) I love the more environmentally focused design style. 3) Any room for Stitch or Wall-E in the Tomorrowland redesign?
Maybe fix Pixar Pier next, or the Northeast corner of DCA utilizing some of the land the current shuttle drop off takes since it looks like Disney still wants to build Eastern Gateway
You should do this to a villains themed land.
Solar punk is such a cool idea for a tomorrowland theme.
I definitely appreciate the idea of a smaller Tron Lightcycles run at Disneyland, but I’d be worried about creating similar confusion to what I went through when I went to ride the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland Paris for the first time after growing up on California’s version.
Ever thought about making the perfect EPCOT?
Right now it's a perfect land-based booze cruise !
I really love all of this! I'm a huge fan of steampunk, solarpunk stuff so I can see this! It really harkens back to those older, future vibes of Walts vision and also giving it all the needed future vibes, while being good for the planet, which in turn is actively making a better future for everyone! This was so well thought out and amazing. Great job!
Just put Monsanto and the People E̸a̸t̸e̸r̸ Mover back in and I'm happy. Wait. You've got to put Rocket Rods back in. It was a blast for the few years it survived. Starcade needs to be a wide-field, multi-person VR either arcade or show to showcase cutting edge VR tech for people who haven't experienced the technology yet. Maybe tour planets or futuristic cities.
We must have ridden different Rocket Rods. It never worked properly, was closed more than it was open, and the vibrations are what ultimately destroyed the track.
Star Traders should definitely change its name but the building could probably exist as is. Just exterior work to make it fit the rest of the theme. Maybe a character meet and greet area where the StarArcade is, it’ll fill the void left by getting rid of the launch bay. The extra space near Tron should honestly just be a small shop or quick service speciality food (maybe themed to tron?) with some pleasant green space. If you want that Solarpunk aesthetic you’re going to want some open spaces as well. Having the open space/lagoon relit would look great.
I love your creative enthusiasm! With all the negative stuff going on with Disney parks and the company's management, it's good to know someone is still dreaming about the things that could be, even still. This was a great video and a breath of fresh air. Good job! 👍
I think the Tron ride should open at Disneyland, and they should make the split in the center utilize it. Essentially, yes, recreating the "vibe" that rocket rods was supposed to. Something excited that you see as you enter. The Tron coaster could briefly run through where People Mover's Tron section existed in the park years ago.
If you are keeping the existing space Mountain building, you still have the tunnels for the Peoplemover, or retrofit it to support the Tron coaster passing through to extend the track. Still need a shop like Starcade, because Disney has to sell merch. Oh, and Skyway, gotta bring back a Skyway type ride!
I’m so excited to watch this video I’ll be back to talk about it after I’m done . See you in the future
Turn Starcade into a Candy store of the Future or something
Glad to have worked with Heap Big Names at the park in the 80s.
Efforts were made, and along came Eisner.
Good luck, kid.
In response to the Big Hero 6 ride, I do have a thought! In my quest through theme park UA-cam I’ve seen a How to Train Your Dragon ride at Motiongate in Dubai. That’s a suspended ride that has some fast moments near the end. Ignoring the whole… screens and screens stuff, I feel like that would be a really good comparison model for tone and the thrills.
My guy nobody will complain at you about the Tron you are literally a genius
The people mover needs to comeback to Disneyland. I agree with your plan Offhand. I think a Wall-e ride would be good addition. Maybe put that where the Star Wars arcade is?
I agree with 100% of everything you said. I want it all! I agree with you, the only right way to fix Tomorrowland is to raze it. That’s a hard pill to swallow, but it’s true.
People mover looked so cool winding through autopia and the monorail
I know this video is about Disneyland Tomorrowland but in WDW case if they just made all of Tomorrowland look like Tron, then I think they would be able to future proof the land forever
This sounds wonderful! Maybe put some vr technology where starcade is?
I sure hope Disneyland is seeing your amazing ideas.
Great fun ideas! Thanks for the episode! I do think it needs to be multi level to maximize the space. Imagining multiple ways to go up and down multiple stories in the land is very exciting! This really isn’t done anywhere in Anaheim as of now.
I’m all for bringing Tron and bringing back the peoplemover at Tomorrowland. You should submit your ideas to Disney to get their attention on how to fix Tomorrowland.
I also like the idea for a Big Hero 6 attraction that uses the same ride tech as flight of passage. However I think Big Hero 6 would fit thematically in the San Francisco section of DCA, which would replace little mermaid, and make it look a little more to resemble San fransokyo (maybe even a quick service food stand like the lucky cat cafe run by Hiro’s aunt cass, as well as a Baymax and Hiro meet and greet). I would really love to see a big hero 6 presence in DCA.
Add some kind of interactive ISTC and mission space ride. Space travel is always going to look cool, always be a dream expedition of ppl, and going to hold up its aging well.
All Star Tours Starport where passengers can choose multiple shuttle craft destinations. Endor, Wall E, Hoth, Guardians, Eternals space station
Couldn’t agree more with every single one of your ideas. Beautifully done.
Your reinvented Tomorrowland and mine align pretty closely, but I must say your restaurant concept for Space Station X2 (essentially integrating Space 220) was an excellent, brilliant addition - so perfectly appropriate I'm kinda shocked now it doesn't already exist at DL. Well done. We should chat. I consult for the company that creates scents for all Disney's attractions around the world (except France, for the moment). So if you want to bring a little of Soarin' home... (free), HMU. :)
Yay Dallin! Pioneer. Postulator of patently popular, people-pleasing paradigms, and poignant, perspicaciously painted poly-morphic planagrams! Offhand-imagineer of the third kind! And all-around wielder of a friendly, soothing loquaciousness! Please do go on with your mission!
In other words... let's do this!
Sounds like an awesome park! I think you forgot to mention reopening Star tours in galaxy’s edge though 😂
Love the idea of retheming the land w/a "Solar Punk" aesthetic. Architecturally, it could be very retro-futuristic, bit add solar panels & vegetation (perhaps even functional).
Also, how about bringing back the home of the future - just make it a "smart house". It doesn't even need to ba a walk-thru attraction, just part of the queue in another attraction. Maybe the new autopia or the new People Mover? Imagine going into a futuristic smart, fully automated home of the future & you hop onboard the People Mover to your next destination.
As for the water dark ride attraction, how about a Sea Lab/Underwater City where you start off as a guest but then have to escape an attack from a mythical beast like the Kraken, or something. It could use the same technology as Mickey's Runaway Railway.
All great ideas. I will say I love how Disney Land intertwines the monorail, people mover and autotopia tracks. You had a great shot at the end of this piece that showcased it.
I do think the speedways in both DW and DL need to go. I wish they would give both tomorrow lands a more timeless feel.
The landscape could take some tips from the San Diego Zoo landscape. The plants are very relaxing and beautiful there with lots of room for resting/sitting.
