    Comments:
This game is based on a famous Nike commercial from the time. The premise is different, the idea is interesting... but the execution... the worst PS1 game I've played so far. I initially found the default controls horrible, so I changed to a more user-friendly layout. This game is known (by the few who know it) for having an "impossible" first mission. At the time, I had already gotten stuck and given up at that point. This time I managed to figure out how to get through, using a "command" (pass very high) that is no longer necessary to be used throughout the rest of the game, in other words, the game starts showing what it's here for. There are many points where this game fails. First, the cameras are bad. At the edge of the stage and in some points, you can't see the enemies, and this makes combat difficult. The kicking is AWFUL. The player takes a LONG time to kick, and the more advanced enemies, who shoot at you, do so VERY OFTEN. Result: in smaller areas, you ALWAYS take damage after shooting, because your player, in addition to taking a long time to charge the shot (which needs to be strong, because a weak shot will do almost no damage), also stands still for a few moments after the shot, so there is always a shot coming in your direction. In addition, your AI partner gets in the way A LOT. He often gets in front of you when you try to shoot, sometimes blocking an attack that would hit an enemy. The game also implements a mechanic that automatically brings the ball to your feet, and although this could help... it ends up messing the things much more. Because several times when you are without the ball, and approach an enemy to make a tackle, the ball appears at your foot, you end up performing another action and still get hit by the enemy. There should be a button that brings the ball to your foot, but I didn't notice it working during the game, basically the ball comes back whenever it wants. Sometimes you are also controlling a player without the ball, and the game switches by itself to another one in which the ball appears at his foot. The aiming on enemies is also terrible. It changes the aim a lot, there should be a way to lock it to just one, and there's still the habit of aiming at an enemy that's still appearing on the scene... and it takes a while for the appearance to happen, so many times the shot ends up going through them. The interaction between the two players is also broken. The game makes the player you're not controlling "invincible" (at least that helps!), but sometimes, when you're going to be attacked, if you change the player, it automatically switches the enemy's attack to this new player and barely gives you time to dodge. That's why it ends up being bad of having to switch players in the middle of combat. Furthermore, if your player passes the ball to another, he passes it correctly, but if you ask for the pass, it always comes crooked, so I couldn't execute the combo of receiving a pass and shooting, so I don't see the point of having both players on screen, it doesn't work and it ends up messing your play more than it helps. Finally, the fight in small spaces became impossible with the ball, which is the final part of the game. The time to kick and the enemies being too close make it impossible to use the kick. That's why I used a tactic that was to leave the ball with my teammate, who, as he is "invincible", protects it from the enemies, and then fight the enemies with the slide tackle. And this only shows how broken the game is, when "foot-to-foot" combat is more efficient than with the ball, which should be the game's highlight. Thus, the game fails in its main purpose and in what should be its differential. And because of these flawed aspects of the game, I had to explore other techniques at some points, such as hiding behind a column, charging the kick and only getting out when it's time to kick. Perhaps the only credit I give the game (and for the benefit of the doubt) is that MAYBE it is a little fun with two players. I faced other really bad games, but when the game is bad AND makes you stressed, like this one, which because of the broken mechanics creates a layer of difficulty that shouldn't be there, there is no other option but to give it 1 star.
