As someone who wants to walk the camino and is also spiritual but not religious I found it interesting to hear your insight in walking it and visiting churches along the route. Although I do not get religious experiences from churches I do enjoy the still reflective quietness and historical aspect from them. As a religious pilgrimage I feel that although I would not gain anything religiously from the camino that I would gain so much spiritually from walking it.
"Your walk begins the moment you say yes to this". This really struck me, it's so true. I walked 200km of the camino in 2018 and barely made it into Santiago with painful foot problems thanks to incorrect footwear so I can sympathise. And I am now setting the intention to walk the entire length in 2024 for my 60th birthday, so I guess my walk begins today! It will start with a visit to a holistic podiatrist and the search for optimal footwear. I look forward to following your adventure (I'm also vegan). Buen Camino!
Aw Lisa I am so thrilled for you on continuing your journey! Blessed be and Buen Camino to you on your next walk :) P.S. I will be putting out a video about vegan food on the camino at the end of the series.
I backpacked around Europe when I was 25 and LOVED going into all the cathedrals. And I’m an atheist. 😂 But they are truly stunning. The architecture is amazing.
I love that you are doing this camino your way and not giving in to the pressure (that i sometimes perceive) of having to carry all your stuff or sleeping in shared rooms every night etc. very inspiring. I would love to do the camino one day :) can‘t wait to watch the rest of the video series
Looks like you're walking easily around Pamplona! Glad your injury wasn't serious after all. Taking the easier way is always an option! It's YOUR way, and you're the one who will have to own your decisions. The Camino is different for everyone; you do you! I'm enjoying your videos and noticing that your generation is definitely unique in the way you engage with the world and people around you. No doubt the Camino will offer you some new insight and perspective - embrace it. Buen Camino!
I saw so many people try to push on in the beginning stages and not be able to finish or by the time they reached Santiago they had permanently damaged their feet or knees. That didn’t feel wise to me so I went with what Spirit directed. Thank you for the support 🤗
This was great. I loved seeing a day off… day. Thank you. You and your husband should try a Medjugorje Pilgrimage since you are so open. It is a peace and healing like no other place in the world. Go with a group to really get the experience. I think I saw your Scottish video. Ill try that next 💐 thanks again
Buen camino Crystal! Keep going on as you prefer, cause the camino is always wonderful. Use compeed cream for your foots to proceed better in the next days
Maybe buy a pair of running shoes that fit lower than your ankle that you could wear on the flat easy part of the trail and then put your boots on for the more difficult parts. Just a thought, maybe changing your shoes frequently may help the pain.
I've just ended up watching your camino journey all in the wrong order. Lol 😂, thank you for these videos. It's really inspired me to get motivated into my walking journey. I was feeling a bit flat in my life n I just came across your channel and I absolutely love it. I going to watch some of your older stuff. So you got a new subscriber now 👍
You are doing great, well done. Shared your experience on Paris airport to my spouse.. He absolutely agree on how tuff this hub is. 😂 Glad you found solutions for you foot. Stay safe and have fun. Happy Camino
Hi Crystal, thank you for taking us along ~ just in case I don’t actually make it there in person! I’m loving your adventure & what a beautiful city! Glad your ankle is feeling some better. Looking forward to your next video. Blessings on your way! 🙏🏻❤️
I am really enjoying this journey with you on a path I want to follow. I wondered if you had somewhere where you stayed as they look wonderful & I’d personally not like to stay in dorms. Thank you Crystal ❤
I love the pilgrim store you went to. The owner used to be Instvan a few years back. Loving your videos and I hope your ankle feels better. I can’t wait to check out the macrobiotic vegan restaurant in April! ♥️
Hi Crystal. Hope you get better soon. When I walked there I had to take some rest day as well. My foot's are destroyed. I discovered lot of music in your footage what I used in my camino videos too. :) Buen Camino
hi, I like so much you are very adaptable, you did not walk from one place to here ...thumbs up, the best choice you should have make. Health gets over everything. this day off has certainly reinvigorate your soul too not only your foot:)
Wonderful video again. The Camino provides. You needed to take a zero…and you made the most of it. Aren’t the Cathedrals cool? So much history and so beautiful. We, in the west, don’t appreciate how old a 14th century church is! We think 100 years old is ancient. Not even close! Looking forward to see what happens next. Bien Camino!
Thank you :) I would love to have Cathedrals here in the USA like they do in Europe though I guess it makes it that much more special when traveling too. See you tomorrow!
They are SO much better though I had to walk in Sandals for most of the Camino because my ankle was so swollen and sore. I think my tendon got a bit bruised or something...such an odd injury.
@@vanhallaadventures I’m so,glad it worked out for you. The problem with an injury like that so early on is that you’re probably not going to fully recover from it during the activity. Hope it heals up quickly once you’re done xxx
Be sure and massage your lymphatic system regularly and that way any fluids that need to go back up can. I did not know that if my lymphatics behind my knees were clogged fluid in the ankles can't go anywhere.
Those big boots may not be necessary my favorite pair now have soft cushion soles and mesh tops, they are really great on bicycles I might even buy a pair
Preparation is everything perhaps too small shoes The feet need to be taken care of every evening with foot cream Then put on small socks so that the cream is not on the sleeping bag I already pilgrimage many years
I was born Catholic but also am very spiritual in that it all must come together, I enjoy hearing the priests discuss the Bible but do see much exists to avoid conflict which many question
Thanks Joe. I kept looking for all the cold water spots - especially during the heat wave. I am not sure on the new shoes I got (the brand) though I ended up mainly wearing sandals as my ankle was badly bruised so I couldn't have anything touch it for most of the Camino. There will be a lot more foot updates in the vlog. Thanks for watching!
Well, it's a good thing Jesus Christ didn't come here to start a religion. He came to atone for the original sin. To redeem us and to offer us the free gift of salvation, which is not of works, lest any man should boast. If you are not "saved" please consider it, as we are in the final days and there is so much prophecy that is being fulfilled today. One such prophecy before the return of Jesus Christ is the building of the Third Temple, but before Israel can build the Third Temple, they need a Red heifer and all throughout the centuries they have failed to find the perfect, spotless red heifer, until today. Just last week they secretly shipped 5 red heifers from the USA, and they also announced the completion of railroad lines from the airport to the spot of the Third Temple by 2023. So please consider getting saved before Daniels 70th week and the 'time of Jacobs trouble'. Thank you.

@@vanhallaadventures I look forward to that video! I'm hoping not to have to compromise too much.
your walk begins the moment you say yes!!! I love that ❤️

it was so nice to share with you that the pain has subsided. PHEW!
I hope the new shoes turn out to be a huge relief so you can keep trekking pain free xxx

Great advice, Thank you!

Trainers do much better than boots on the Camino for sure!
Can you share the name of the Vegan restaurant? Thanks!
Preparation is everything
perhaps too small shoes
The feet need to be taken care of
every evening with foot cream
Then put on small socks so that the cream is not on the sleeping bag
I already pilgrimage many years
I would eat a lot of tomatoes they may clean out the bruise.
I was born Catholic but also am very spiritual in that it all must come together, I enjoy hearing the priests discuss the Bible but do see much exists to avoid conflict which many question
I love that - "it must all come together". Yes, that is a lovely way to put it. Thank you!
HI Crystal Ice is you best friend for this kind of injury. Also what are your new shoes? Buen Camino
