Absolutely. The performance gains you experience with a Smarty on the VP44-equipped 5.9L Cummins vary depending on the hard parts you have installed (injectors, pumps, turbos) so the Smarty will actually help you take full advantage of your aftermarket injectors and other upgrades
It's how fuel is delivered to the injectors. It's a system that puts fuel under high pressure, which allows for increased precision in the injection event.
if I pick a catcher SW for example level 4 with no timming. Do I have to go through and adjust rpm setting, power setting, torque setting or will everything just be stock
I just got this tuner and at the moment, I have it on setting 3. Everything is stock, to include the injectors at this time. I plan on putting in 60 HP injectors, and wanting to save a little more on MPG. Is setting 3 good for stock, not putting too much stress on my truck? (I have an 04 dodge cummins, manual) I did hear don't go above a 5 setting, but I wanted to confirm.
That's safe for an automatic transmission. The manual is a little better and tougher. You can go up the five but be careful. I'd go up to 4. Do you have any deletes on the truck?
Hi, Parley Ive got a 03 Dodge 2500 S-B air in take Manifold (ATS) Air Dog 2 165hp 4' down pipe w 5' all the way back i got the Smarty S-06 i got it set on 8 i would like to know whats the difference between No adding timing and With adding timing.? is it better to go lower number to get better performance its doing good on 8.
The no added timing tunes are for if you are stacking. If you are not stacking chips then you would want to use the tunes with the added timing. You'll have cooler EGT's, less smoke and more power.
Ok i had a Edge but when i bought the Smarty they said its better to take off the Edge can i put bot on if so what level should i go with..? Would that be Stacking or No ?
For most people we don't recommend stacking unless the truck is heavily modified and even then it's not always the best option. If you are going to be stacking you would need to ensure that you stack it with a module that makes its adjustments through fuel pressure alone. Some edge modules do that and others don't. You would need an Edge Comp module for stacking. You can reach us at 801-938-4891 if you need recommendations on parts.
for your 02 go with the edge the smarty is really only for cr's. A smarty on the 2gen body style 24vs with the vp44 pump smarty only has a 75hp tune or somthing small like that
+Kyle Lake Yes, you can. You can find the S06 here. www.parleysdieselperformance.com/products/smarty-power-on-demand-programmer-s-06-pod-for-2003-2007-dodge-ram-5-9l-cummins-diesels
ParleysDieselPerformance.com Hello there, I have an 05 24v Common Rail, everything is pretty much stock on the g56 six speed manual tranny except a Valair 650hp dual disc clutch, and I am wondering if i could go any higher than level 5 and still be safe with my Smarty so6 POD tuner. Thanks.
so heres a question. if i wanted to go past level 5 with the tuner on my stock 6 speed trans, could i just get a higher rated hp clutch or what else would i need to do to make the trans not get trashed? (please answer back)
I have a 05 5.9 6 speed. completely built. with a smarty jr , what would be the best settings for the most power. I can't seem to find it online. for torque and timing specs.
The top power level on the Smarty Jr. is 100 horsepower over stock. If you were referring to the Smarty tuner in this video you can see the power levels for this tuner at the bottom of our product page for the tuner which you can see here. www.parleysdieselperformance.com/products/smarty-power-on-demand-programmer-s-06-pod-for-2003-2007-dodge-ram-5-9l-cummins-diesels
ParleysDieselPerformance.com I have the older smarty jr with catcher software. I understand the sw1, sw2, and sw3 options. I just need to know what the timing and torque adjustments mean. which one is more power , vs less. timing and torque settings are 1-4 but what does that mean ? what are the specs 1-4 ?
+Steven Milich The Smarty Jr is a different programmer. You can see all the different types of Smarty tuners that are available here. www.parleysdieselperformance.com/t/manufacturer/smarty
+snakeairsoft leger No it will not. Tuners are not compatible with the 12 valve cummins. You would have to get something like the adjustable fuel plate that we carry instead.
