Awesome video, very detailed. Thank God for reviewers like you that cover everything, the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. I watched your video because I was considering getting a Tank 200, but now I'm not so sure. I've watched other videos for 149cc Chinese scooters that people have clocked in at 55 mph (GPS) as their top speed, stock bike, no mods. And the carb. scooter cost them $1200 to their door including shipping. Those scooters also come with a rear top box, but, a smaller one, but no side boxes. I guess everybody has to weigh the pros and cons for themselves. We're all different, and that what makes the world go 'round. The main thing is for us to get out there, ride, and have fun. Thanks again for the video.
    A definite thumbs up!

I got the same one. Ordered it assembled and shipped for $2300. I unplugged the speaker right away. I don’t listen to music when I ride anyway and if I ever do, I have a Bluetooth earpiece. The only issue I did have so far was that the nuts on the exhaust to engine was missing. The bolts were there so I just put the nuts on it. Had I not done that, the plastic housing around the engine would have melted like yours. Other than that, I love it. I’m at 1600 miles so far. I get up to 55 on a calm day but I don’t really like that speed. I’m more comfortable at 45-50 range. I take non traffic backroads if I leave town. That starter thing might be a defect on your bike. I don’t think I’ve had that issue yet. By the way, that wasn’t the front brake you pulled when you were talking about the pull issue. That’s the rear brake lever. Front brake is the throttle side.

Chad on the video I heard you say that you could fix some of the things that you don’t like about the tank200. Tell me please how I can increase the speed on it.

Is that a vitacci man? I like the Bluetooth mode and i like to listening to music. Depends on the weight of the rider man. I got 63 on this scooter. This isn't a off road scooter.

You might have to check the belt because I seen a man on that scooter that went over 60 and he weighed 200 lb ... Or you might have to adjust your clutch and if so you should be able to take it to the dealer and they check it out

It should be able to go over 50 mph. Maybe wind resistance with the big panniers? I have the Clash 200 efi with the same engine, it'll easily do 55 mph (GPS checked) and will usually do 60 mph. I'm 6'1" 215 lbs and ride at 4000' and above. Nearly 5000 miles on mine so far.
I would check the air filter to see if its contaminated with oil, causing a restriction. My Clash gets 76 mpg at 55 mpg with no windshield and 84 mpg with a windshield.

I’ve had my tank 200 for about eight weeks and have put 2000 miles on it and had and I have had a few issues, exhaust bolts, came off and melted the cover from the heat. A week later the exhaust pipe about an inch off the manifold where it bends broke apart luckily, I found a good replacement on Amazon. Had to tighten the stem on the front forks because the front tire was moving back and forth when I used the front brake. Overall to OK scooter for what you paid for.

The first thing I did with mine was check all my bolts on it and I had alot that were left loose 😐 I disassemble it and put lock tight on everything. The muffler got replaced after a week. Other than that. This is a very solid and reliable scooter.

Engine break in time is important, and to get that very initial break in oil out of the engine in a timely fashion even more so, as well. I like to see the factory break in oil removed between 50 and 100 miles of shorter trips.. Often with Chinese or Taiwan brand scooters, that break in oil is mineral based, it's not designed for heavy use. And a new scooter tends to perk up with quality name brand motor oil in place. And perk up some more out around 300-500 miles.

Thank you for this video. It's pure Gold. A well balanced video. It drove home the whole picture of chinese products and thier CC. I appreciate your honest experience account. From what i have watched other videos about chinese scooters/ motorcycles. If you own one you should ride in groups since you will have help Not If but When they break down. It appears chinese scooters/ motorcycle go on to have long lives after the initial break in/ break downs. I know crazy, right? I saw a video by Motocheez where a group of 5 riders two had chinese bikes both had break downs on the same ride. Given, they ride the bikes to the limits. Have Fun be safe.

It's ironic they won't warranty the scooter if the Chinese factory assembles it poorly and parts fall off, etc. but won't warranty for the customer who goes over the scooter with a fine tooth comb and also addresses the factory's quality control issues.

I wonder if they put a 125 GY6 engine in yours but labeled it as a 200 (168)? I had a 150cc GY6 engine in a Kymco and it would do around 60 or 65.

Hey bro that really sucks that you had so much problems with your bike right off the rip. But you know what they say. I think the bike is a great bike if you know how to Tinker with them. Overall I've seen some people do some amazing things with those engines, they install the chuma kit, and Lookout. Anyway the bike break-in period is 300 MI. Stay safe bro love the bike. I have a 169 CC also. I have a 2024 lance Cabo 200i. I do around 75 miles an hour on the highway.

I got a used 2022 zuma for $2750. Feel like I would hate the tank 200 and price difference doesn’t compensate for the quality. My Zuma goes 64mph on flat, and it has yamahas version of VTEC. Not bad for a 125cc.

Ura the horse power on the vittaci "200" is like 7 or 8 hp the horsepower on a actual Yamaha zuma 125 is close to 12 or 13 hp

In my city the immigrants here post these Tank 200 scooters all the time on marketplace trying to flip them for $3000. Except unlike yours, they rebadge them and replace all the labels with Yamaha designs. When you message the seller, they will claim it's a Yamaha and try to act like it's not some Chinese scooter. So if you're looking to buy a Yamaha Zuma or something similar locally, be careful because people rebadge and sell these scooters all the time for profit.

I have the tank pro, you mentioned the front Turn signals being red. The fix for that is to follow the wires to the connector under the hood and disconnect the brown wire on both left and right connector. Red will be gone and you will have yellow when selecting signals.

Those metal shavings that came from the oil that would have scared the hell out of me I would’ve returned it !!! I mean, where do they come from ?

    • @JD_Mortal
      @JD_Mortal 16 днів тому +1

It's normal to have metal shavings in break-in oil. It's a specially formulated oil to seat the rings and loosen the bushings. If you put normal oil in, it would end up burning oil and fail to seat bushings correctly.
Though there really shouldn't be large chips of metal. That was crap left over after machining the casing or parts inside.
