I just wanted my SE 2016 to get an upgraded camera and chip but my 12 Mini is fantastic. People who keep complaining about battery life spend too much time on their phone.
It is the phone for minimalists
Using this phone with the magsafe battery pack and I’m extremely satisfied with the battery backup. Since the mini is no longer in the 14 lineup I’ll stick with it for as long as possible.

For all young geeks in the comments section complaining about this phone and it’s battery life . Put your devices away . Start talking to some girls , go to the gym , get some real life friends…if you spend more than 2h online daily playing with your phone you are not living right.

Bigger issue is that batteries degrade over time so no matter your screen time you will always have less battery as advertised and worse as time goes on. Apple specifically has had lawsuits because they have been caught harming battery life to reap profits.
And instead of commenting on comment sections about what other people do in their private lives, you should read a book, write a diary’s or a book about how to live your life. Not every people gaming on their phone, and battery life is important for many because they use their phone in every day life.

When I owned a 5.5” display phone, I wondered whether bigger display is better. So I bought a flagship phone with 6.67” display but then it becomes a must to hold it with two hand. So, I look for a used IP12 Mini and then I found out the price in the used market dropped drastically, so then I purchased it. I have come to terms that phones cannot be too large on our hands or it will lose the ergonomic value and I specifically bought this phone because iOS doesn’t suck up as much juice as Android and like you said, this phone also easily gets me through the day in a single charge.
I agree, I owned flagship samsung but i would say the battery itself sucks so fast which get me to charge the phone 3x or 4x a day, Compare to my 12mini which last whole day with same usage, sometimes i have to charge it in afternoon or evening depends on what task i am doing on my 12 mini

Honestly, this is the iPhone that I want. My first iPhone was the 5s I’ve hold on to that from 2016-2022 when the mini was launch I was so excited to buy one and fair enough I did. Battery life is on the short side but one thing that my ownership with my 5s thought me is to always bring an external battery pack or powerbank w/ charger cable. I loved that 5s now that I own a 12 mini I really wanna make the best out of it.
Is it still worth to buy mate, like i don't wanna invest huge amount on 13 mini. I may use device for another 3-4 years what you say

I just upgraded to 12 mini128 from my iphone 5s which was gifted by my father in 15 th b day in 2015. And i'm really happy with the same compact form factor where most of the smartphones r getting humungous daybyday. Actually i wanted a 13 mini but didn't permit my budget 😊

My iPhone 12 mini holds up fairly well in the battery department. My current BH is 86 % (after 19 months of usage). The degradation has seemed to slow down (at least according to the reader. The big battery suckers from this phone are: High speaker volume, high screen brightness outdoors, navigation (Google maps), Camera app (with drainage rates as fast as 1-2 percent a minute). Keep this in mind as the battery ages. The A14 can reserve tons of power, but applications that require a lot of power can drain the phone (sometimes in 2-3 hrs vs the standard 5-6 hrs)
Update: After 1 month, my battery health has fallen to 82 percent. Battery life has only diminished by a little bit.

I think you should test the battery life in Wi-Fi and cellular respectively. Because browsing social through cellular network use more electricity

Honestly, 4-5 hours for battery would be perfect for me. I’m gonna be switching to a 12 mini from a 6s. My 6s will give me maybe 2-3 hours and I’m not exaggerating.
Never thought my 11 Pro battery life was anything special. Mini can’t be much worse, I’m sold. Still digging the Midnight color?? Thinking the new green or possibly blue, between the 3.

It’s official, the iPhone mini is gone.
Slap on a MagSafe battery pack and you’re good to go. Although, could be considered a hassle but to fit everything into that form factor, you have to sacrifice on the battery. Awesome video!

I like that my iPhone 12 mini is still a good phone and works. The only criticism I have for it is the battery life and health rapidly decreasing. I am currently at 86% maximum capacity after 15 months which is not the worst, but not the best. Screen time is still fairly good but you can kill it 3 times a day if it is used heavily. Apps to consider this with are mostly camera and gaming applications. Also keep in mind how you charge your phone and how you use it. It may affect your battery capacity

@@fireflames8791 not so much. The 12 minis battery is still a little bit better (brand new with 100% maximum capacity). This is also based on certain battery tests that involve “light usage” (browsing social media), texting, etc… Expect different results if you are a heavy user. If you want to know more, I can share links to videos reviewing the phone (specifically a battery review).
Ok. Not gonna lie. The battery isn’t the best. But, it’s by far the nicest phone I ever had. I was a die hard Android user (Google Pixel) and suddenly I woke up and decided to try an iPhone.
It feels so smooth, so durable and made to last. I love that! I even don’t use a case because the materials don’t really scratch that fast. I’m truly disappointed that the 14 doesn’t have any mini version lined up.
Just switched from the 12 mini to the 14 pro. As much as I loved the size of the 12 mini, the battery basically made it unusable after only 1,5 years of use
I can relate! I’ve just purchased a iPhone 13, after a year and half my battery health was at 86%, I really didn’t want to change but I couldn’t stand the battery anymore…

Alot of those who complained about batt degradation in 12 mini was mostly charged by fast charger and wireless charging. I think slow charger can solve that issue.

@@erdem5905 There's a very clear logic behind it - to prevent battery degradation. Nobody is forcing you, so feel free to not do so. Fast or wirelessly charge to your heart's content.
Lol. My 2020 phone can charge with 120w and after 3 years of usage, still no sign of degradation, at all. 15 minute of charging, last all day

My work phone is a 12 mini. I really like it. If I were a real stickler for the form factor I would get another mini for my personal. It reminds me of the smaller iPhones like the 5 and 2016 SE, before apple was pressured to make it all bigger. The only issue I have now is as I get older my thumbs get fatter, so I have to be very precise when typing. I try my best not to use autocorrect. English grammar is hard enough, even as a native speaker, can’t lose that skill!

you just got a sub from me. I loved your video and this is my first time seeing your channel.
Been running on a iPhone SE 2016 for about 2 to 3 years now, moving 'back' to it from an iPhone 8 Plus, I just had it replaced by T-mobile. I love the size, but I understand that it will slowly be phased out, no more updates and I have noticed some sluggish network issues. So moving to the 12 mini over the older first gen SE would be good for me, as far as battery, the SE last me all day, but I do carry a battery pack designed for the iPhone. I think I will make the move to the 12 mini based on price, if I can find a 13 mini, better, definitely not moving to the 14, don't like the new SIM design.

Changed to 12 mini just yesterday from an 11 it's definitely snappier...also the camera is definitely an upgrade the 0.5 on 11 was so bad I barely use it. If your hands hurt with big phones this is perfect. But the battery is really so-so

One thing I’m curious about is how is the call quality on the 12 mini? On a regular 12 I had last year it was so horrible and full of static i had to get rid of it. The obvious trade off is battery life but that’s to be expected with a smaller phone.

FINALLY a techer that ACTUALLY explained how the batter life works.. instead of those dumb MODERATE usage or DEPENDS on this or that ... i personally use twitter insta, some cam some msgs and some music but just on walks .. no videos no gaming .. so with that in mind, if i could do a 5 sot that would be awesome! cause i have a sot ,the digital wellbeing says it anyway , that i have sot /day from 3-3.1/2 h ,so if i could manage 5h sot thats great, any1 oppinions on that?

I would say 5.8 screen size is perfect
5G is the biggest battery killer for the 12 mini. The 5G auto setting does not help either as it primary uses 5G compared to LTE. I just set it to LTE for normal use unless I am uploading or downloading something.

I use the 12 Mini, battery life is sub-par but still quite decent. I mean, everyone talking about the phone’s battery life is talking about it in comparison to the other “big guys” which makes it obvious. But you’d do well to get the 13 Mini if this one still doesn’t sit well with you.

I'm using 12mini. The biggest issue I'm facing is with the battery. After 13 months my battery health is 85%. I use it every day with 3-4hours of Netflix. planning to buy a new model because of the battery issue.

I just want to point out something about this phone when going outside, please bring a powerbank. If you looking to spend the rest of your day outside hanging out (which I do, a lot). It bound to die without any charging. There also the problem with the phone getting really hot but I think it just my environment
I want 2/3 x zoom portrait lens we never needed wide angle coz we have panorama mode to get wider pics

Other than that… get the 13 mini just trust me trust me!!
The screen is brighter, speaker is better, and the battery will truly last longer and that can’t be stressed enough. The battery on the 12 mini is a joke I’m warning you lol. Trust me please go directly to 13 mini.

Real competition is between A15 vs A14 like SE 3 vs 12 mini. Both of em having 5G makes the choice tough. SE 3 is being sold offline around ₹37500 recently i think.
