    Very Impressive performance numbers, considering the size of the vehicles!

      Those times are well off the tested times of the previous model which was in the 6.7 second range for 0-60. Probably not just due to elevation but test conditions. They are doing real world testing, where as these fast times are done in very ideal track conditions. However, the potential is there for much faster times.

      @@elgranfreezer9117 At sea level in proper conditions, they are pretty quick, something like 6.7 seconds. Most small sporty cars are around that range, that is respectable for a huge vehicle meant to two.

      Not really. They’re actually quite slow especially for how large the engines are. A bmw X7 m50i is much faster than these and is still large and luxurious a long with something like a Range Rover SV autobiography

      Me too, seriously thought about trading the wife's sequoia for one but I just can't get past the fact thay the timing gear, fuel pump drive and belt driven oil pump are all at the rear of the engine, so if anything happens to the timing gear, fuel pump or oil pump the transmission has to be removed and the rear of the engine dropped so it can be torn down. Really was a let down because I was excited to be able to get an inline 6 diesel instead of a v6 crammed into the engine bay where you cant work on anything. Once that warranty is up you're shit outta luck unless you change vehicles every 3 years.

    The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and the Cadillac Escalade account for 50% of all large SUV sales in the US. GM makes 340,000 of them every year and exports about 80,000 to 31 countries. They’re made in GM’s plant in Arlington, Texas, which is said to be the most profitable assembly plant in the world. We estimate they generate $20 billion in revenue for GM and about $4 billion in profits. Autoline Daily

Needless to say it was garbage. Shocked the shIt out of me everytime I got out of the vehicle, couldn't fold the third row seats with the second row slid back unless the backrest was upright, an issue our sequoia didnt habe. The 10 speed hunted gears and when I went to pass a car on a 2 lane road I punched it, there was a delay, followed by a bang, a forward surge like I let off the gas and a bunch of clicking/grinding and all kinds of transmission warning messages coming up on the screen. I had to hot the brakes and get back behind the slow poke inwas trying to pass. Made us happy we got a sequoia. As far as fuel economy, the city mileage was actually pretty close, but on the highway it did do quite better than our sequoia. Liked the power but overall the sequoia was better.

    • @Jackmerius_Tacktheretrix
      @Jackmerius_Tacktheretrix 4 роки тому

      What they need to do is make a 3.8-4.0 v8 and turbocharge it to beat the ecoboost. I guarantee it will get better real world economy because that v8 won't be under boost as much as that little v6, and any turbocharged engine under boost burns more fuel than a N/A engine because when a turbocharged engine is under boost it has to run rich to avoid pinging and burning a hole in a piston or head gasket. A 4.0 v8 will maintain highway speed better without boost and thus will get better fuel efficiency since it will be under boost less.

      @@andybub45 neither do I, but that would make them not only competitive, but class leading.I like the 5.7 in the tundra myself. Yeah its a gas hog, but it also develops its max 401lb/ft torque at a lower rom than any other n/a v8. Plus no cyoinder deactivation or direct injection to carbon up the valves. Just an honest good v8 engine without all the tech overload and wizardry. That and the 6.2 from GM are very good engines. The 5.3 is weak but the new 10 speed definitely helps keep the power going and makes the most out of it. Toyota needs to update their transmission. I personally think 10 gears is too much, especu based on my experience having an expedition el as a rental vehicle. After all the shenanigans we had from that thing it really made me glad we bought a sequoia. The new Tahoe is really looking good though, and as much as I want that diesel the fact that all the timing gear, oil pump and belt, fuel pump and chain are all at the back of the engine makes it a deal breaker. If you have any issues with those things the transmission has to come out and the rear of the engine has to be dropped and disassembled. What a letdown. I was really excited the GM brought in a proper inline 6 till I found this out.

    • @mattward330
      @mattward330 4 роки тому +1

      Turbos last for years in lots of vehicles without an issue. For example diesel trucks these days especially GM's trucks. Tried and true reliable is great I agree just like the 350 but all things must change especially to take the lead. It can be done and made reliable.

    • @domin8ss
      @domin8ss 4 роки тому

      @@samduran5180 Yes. GM has 3 radio options in the Silverado right now. They are IOR, IOS, and IOT. IOT is the only one that has GPS. IOT radios are only available in LTZ and High Country. IOS was upgradeable to have navigation in 2019, but GM abandoned the software upgrade needed to be downloaded by a dealership after installing a SD card into the center console. The dealership 2 miles from my house is sitting on 3 SD cards they can't sell because they can't complete the upgrade. The OnStar navigation is not map based on the IOS radios. It tells you the direction to go and the distance until each step. GM is now relying on Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for the navigation in IOS radios. I don't know much about the IOR radios because I don't have one. The IOR radio is in the WT and has the smaller 7 inch screen. I do know it's not upgradeable without changing the whole unit. I hate Android Auto. I usually listen to music on my phone through my car speakers via Bluetooth and the Samsung Music app. Android Auto locks me out of the Samsung Music app, and forces me to use Google's music app. Google's music app is stuck on the same playlist I created in Samsung Music, and won't let me change it. It's very frustrating. Fortunately, I found a company in Colorado that has a solution using GM parts. Right now it's a $850 upgrade ($350 of which is refunded when you send in a core). With all that said, Google Maps looks great on the IOS screen, and some people have told me they prefer it over the GM navigation because of free map updates, Google constantly updates with traffic status, and Waze is now implemented into Google Maps.

      More displacement (the 5.0 reading is the engine displacement in liters, just in case someones reading who does not know that), doesn't equal more horsepower (work the engine can do). Countless other factors that affect power come into play such as compression, air/fuel ratios, and weight. For example Ferrari has a V6 that is 3.9 L and makes 660 hp.

      The 6.2 is detuned for obvious reasons tho they are for more day to day things not rly revved out like the 6.2 in the vette or camero so they probably have a weaker tune just because it’s not gonna be pushed like a vette or camero so they prefer it to last longer over just hp numbers

    • @SirtubalotTX
      @SirtubalotTX 4 роки тому

      One of the things that really helps the 5.0 is the fact that is a DOHC engine. (Double Overhead Cam with 4 valves per cylinder vs the 2 valves per cylinder and push rods on the 5.3 and 6.2). This is why the Coyote can make equivalent or even more hp, even with less displacement and arguably has the best stock heads of any domestic mass produced engine right now. DOHC is especially advantageous when you add boost and running higher rpms.
      Push rod engines have their advantages also so not hating on them but I hope that answers your question.
