I love both bands. Everyone knows by now that the Stones have always been more of a straight ahead rock n roll band with blues roots. The Beatles were more of a pop group with some roots in rockabilly. The Beatles creativity was off the charts and I think that makes them the better band. Mick's father was a fitness instructor. Keith's father was a blue collar worker. Neither played in bands, or encouraged musical development in a way that Jim did with Paul. Is easy, The Beatles are the best band in the history, And the Stones are the second. While the beatles have a focus on lyrics/melody, the Stones have in the riffs (God Bless Keith Richard) Btw you dont need to hate one to love the other. Love both, remember "All you need is love"

Keith will forever remain the greatest Intro Riff Genius of rock and roll. His stuff is live-orientated rock and roll. Beatles were doing studio twaddle, probably written by George Martin. Stones win! Let's face it, the Beatles opened the door for an explosion that's still going on, and we all love them, but the Stones had fantastic songs, too.
The Beatles are more than a riff band, or bass band or whatever band for that matter of fact. They almagamated sounds of all kind, infused with melodic tune, to produce songs other bands can only dream of.
@@tyau424 Agree absolutely! What a tragedy that they stopped playing live, but they had no choice. So much of their later work was too complex to play on stage. They were the essence of the 60s. Ironically enough, they stopped playing live in the very year ('66) that the 60s really got going.
u simply cant categorise, hence categorically confine Beatles in any bracket. They are beyond any comparison, they were and still are the benchmark, the are the "measurement unit" against which a band can be appraised. Eg, The Rolling Stone is rated "9 DegreeBeatle" in the scale of 1-10. Queen = 8.5 ....... etc

I get the whole "Stones Vs Beatles" thing, I do...but the Beatles are not a very "riff-y" band while the Rolling Stones are. So I've got to give it to the Stones for guitar riffage alone. Both bands are, of course, fantastic however.
Fun video so thanks for the upload. I love both bands but always thought that no one matched the Stones for riffs. Geez, they even left out Paint It Black; Bitch, Get Off My Cloud, Last Time and many others. But the Beatles come close to matching them on riffs and surpassed them on creativity overall.
See, the problem with this is that the Beatles were much more focused on the harmonies and melodies of the vocals rather than guitar riffs. I do think the Stones generally had better riffs, but only because that was actually something they focused on. Also the Beatles have Day Tripper so they win.

Paperback Writer came out in 1966 and it sound heavier than most of Stones songs at that time . Stones songs that u chose is great tho and i agree , Stones riff is greater than Beatles
I'm a Beatles fan from birth to death but the Stones were a riff blues band. All their songs are based around the opening riffs. And they are bloody brilliant. Beatles are song, melody, harmony, and studio sound.
Not even close: Stones win by MILES! If you play guitar, ask yourself this: did the Beatles really have great rock riffs on a guitar? They had a few that were awesome like Paperback Writer, Day Tripper and Helter Skelter namely. But the Stones from Beggars Banquet thru the entire 70s just rocked. And they spit out great riffs today!
Give "The Who" a listen. In my opinion they'll give the Stones a run for their money. A few songs you could try are "Baba O'riley," "Won't get fooled again," "Behind Blue Eyes," "My Generation," "Pinball Wizard," "Who are You," and "Eminence Front."
I'm not getting into all that. There was no such thing as a Riff in those days. They played to create music. Had the concept of a riff was identified and made a central focus then we could from an opinion. Riffs didn't come out until James Page gave us every riff we could handle.
@@rmatrix4777 I disagree. All of the British guys were great but they were ripping off American Blues and Chuck Berry big time. You can't deny the Blues is chock full of riffs.
@@einy2crikey Well said. People still don't give enough credit to the black people who really started rock. Like them, but Led Zeppelin were stealing songs for crying out loud.
I feel like The Beatles are more consistent with their riffs (meaning they have a lot of good ones) but i think the very best bealtes riffs arent as good as the stones best riffs but for some it has been close
The Stones. Few bands can match Keith riff for riff and The Beatles aren’t one of them. It is actually OK for The Beatles not to be considered the best at everything.
Uh, yea, whatever. No, just kidding. Actually John Lennon was the best rhythm guitarist in the early to mid sixties. Ringo says that the endless live performances prevented them from maintaining a constant creative cohesiveness. So it is John Lennon who held favor in that. I will say this of my own opinion. The Lsd took away John's and George's talents. But they were getting the ladies so what was to care about too much. Then the break up, it must have been quite a strain being the greatest band, as well individuals, in the world. I guess ask them, what is it like having people worship you wherever you go. The Beatles became reclusive while the Rolling Stones wanted to have Beatles fame so with the Beatles out of the way, they at last had a chance. And simply they were meant to live sleep eat piss and... together because being in a band is quite an awesome thing. Being musicians. Aside from rock n roll, rhythm n blues, clearly, Keith Richards was born with true talent and that kind of talent is perpetually unending, hence their longevity. Keith Richard's was able to overtake John Lennon because of continual practice and honing his craft. John Lennon would have made a come back but that would most likely have been in production as opposed to being locked into a band. But listen to John Lennon's early work and you'll see the Beatles were jamming the guitars like they're saying, "Nobody can do this" and "Try to beat that". Pretty good I'd say. (Phone mishap deleted ) What you people don't know is that the Rolling Stones went on a Retirement Tour in 1978. The fact was that the Rolling Stones could not incite the type of interest that the Beatles had. In fact, the entire concert venue was waning. It was Led Zeppelin that sparked the interest for live performances. Do not discount that when Jimmy Page says that they were the best band in the world, I'd say that that could only be the truth. Then, The Rolling Stones then began to gain a greater public interest Rejuvenated by this turn of events, the Rolling Stones skyrocketed to the heights with the album Some Girls. This video has at least 3-4 riffs from the songs from the 1980 Some Girls album. It's really not fair to compare works at an early date when both men were so young to an older extensively experienced individual. Keith Richard's should blow us out of the water. What are we in this for if he couldn't. There's more to John Lennon too, that few articulate; John Lennon is the greatest singer after Elvis Presley. I must add Robert Plant to this list. But John's every song was his own self derived and applied vocals. John Lennon sang his music with the brilliance of Michael Angelo with his paint brush. In a more humorous or cynical way and everything in between.
@@rmatrix4777 what do you mean with the LSD took their talents away? The best riffs are from after the LSD trip. I want you, Helter Skelter, Everybody got something to hide, Old brown shoe, Something, Come together, etc

Is easy, The Beatles are the best band in the history, And the Stones are the second. While the beatles have a focus on lyrics/melody, the Stones have in the riffs (God Bless Keith Richard) Btw you dont need to hate one to love the other. Love both, remember "All you need is love"

Solamente que todas las canciones de los beatles son buenas, de los rolling podes sacar 9 o 10 de las mejores, las demás no son malas pero no son muuuy buenas. No creo que los Rolling estén segundos.
I probably enjoyed watching this video as much as you did making it!
It clearly demonstrates how much both bands had to offer!
Thanks a lot!

I prefer The Rolling Stones. I know, It’s only Rock and Roll (but I like it).
Me too

As much as I love these two bands it will always steer towards the stones
If hey bulldog was there, it wouldve been epic
Maybe on another video!

👍😉🤘
Queen = 8.5

9. Help!
10. Dig A Pony
"Revolution" too.
and your bird can sing too
Rain bass riff is legendary too
Don't forget Hey Bulldog 🤩🤩
also i want you (shes so heavy)
I get the whole "Stones Vs Beatles" thing, I do...but the Beatles are not a very "riff-y" band while the Rolling Stones are. So I've got to give it to the Stones for guitar riffage alone. Both bands are, of course, fantastic however.
Bitch by Rolling Stones has a great riff for me
I know I'm going against the grain here but I prefer The Rolling Stones myself.
👍😉

Rolling stones
Stones riff perfectly captured the zeitgeist of that era, while beatles reimagined the music for everyone, everywhere, everytime
Perfect thats perfect
Wow....you are well rounded. Great tunes brother. PEACE
Thanks a lot brother!

I don't know the answer but Jumpin' Jack Flash is the coolest song!!
Winner is one- rock!

I like both bands but in general, I have been more into Beatles. Comparing the bands riff wise, I prefer Rolling Stones
See, the problem with this is that the Beatles were much more focused on the harmonies and melodies of the vocals rather than guitar riffs. I do think the Stones generally had better riffs, but only because that was actually something they focused on. Also the Beatles have Day Tripper so they win.

Ouch ! The riff for Birthday is completely wrong.
And then he nails Drive My Car. I don't get it.
Paperback Writer , I Feel Fine , While My Guitar Gently Weeps , Ticket to Ride needs to be here . Songs that u chose for The Beatles is bit off .

👍😉
Miguel, nice job. Thank you for the music. I enjoyed the video and your musical talent.👍👍👍
Thank you very much Carlos!

Until you actually listen to their songs
Among all classic rock bands The Rolling Stones has the best riffs
👍😉
Give "The Who" a listen. In my opinion they'll give the Stones a run for their money. A few songs you could try are "Baba O'riley," "Won't get fooled again," "Behind Blue Eyes," "My Generation," "Pinball Wizard," "Who are You," and "Eminence Front."

The Beatles wrote the Rolling Stones’ first hit with “I Wanna Be Your Man”.....nuff said.
Both are great, but I’ll take The Rolling Stones all day and every day with guitar riffs!!
Mitchell Stich - that’s cool man, The Rolling Stones are an awesome band.
Yes sir! I love the Beatles too though
This isn't to see whose the better band
And what does that prove? The Stones version is much better! Nuff said!

Lynyrd Skynyrd vs Allman Brothers
Stones riffs are better, but Beatles songs are better than stones songs.
Depends on your taste
I'm not getting into all that. There was no such thing as a Riff in those days. They played to create music. Had the concept of a riff was identified and made a central focus then we could from an opinion. Riffs didn't come out until James Page gave us every riff we could handle.
@@rmatrix4777 I disagree. All of the British guys were great but they were ripping off American Blues and Chuck Berry big time. You can't deny the Blues is chock full of riffs.
Ruby Tuesday has entered the chat
@@einy2crikey Well said. People still don't give enough credit to the black people who really started rock. Like them, but Led Zeppelin were stealing songs for crying out loud.

I like the touch with the higher guitar position with the Beatles

I feel like The Beatles are more consistent with their riffs (meaning they have a lot of good ones) but i think the very best bealtes riffs arent as good as the stones best riffs but for some it has been close

The Stones. Few bands can match Keith riff for riff and The Beatles aren’t one of them. It is actually OK for The Beatles not to be considered the best at everything.
Donny Hunt I respect that....
The
Lsd took away John's and George's talents.
(Phone mishap deleted )
What you people don't know is that the Rolling Stones went on a Retirement Tour in 1978.
@@rmatrix4777 Pete Townshend was better than John but not Keith
@@amorim6447 every Beatle song has a sound, a lick, a riff, a harmony, a lyric, an emotion, or Something that we'd climb mountains to hear and can't just walk away from; After A Hard Day's Night, or a visit through Strawberry Fields Forever one just has to listen to it.

The Stones developed a lot of rhythm during the 70s (come on, beast of burden is unbeatable), exactly why it's unfair to compare 70s and 80s (start me up) with strictly 60s riffs. That said, The Beatles seems more and more impressive as the years go by, really amazing work, and it cheers me up to see their rocking side being praised. They rock really hard.
