It makes me think how Revolver is, musically, the Beatles’ best record. ‘Pepper’ is a more important album, for what it represents historically and aesthetically, but in my opinion Revolver is the Beatles’ supreme musical achievement. Apple Corps still owes us a Revolver deluxe edition!
yeah Revolver is full of great riffs. Taxman also have a great riff (though its more like a bassline in first verse, it becomes a guitar riff in the second), She Said She Said, And Your Bird Can Sing, Doctor Robert, I Want to Tell You + Paperback Writer AND Rain. Great guitar throughout the album.,
The greatest legacy of the Beatles is similar to Charlotte’s Web: they moved on but all those of us who love them - as children may love their parents - carry on and spread the word of how great they were through videos like this. The Beatles were the greatest cultural gift of the 20th century.
My top 10 in no particular order: 1: Birthday 2: And your bird can sing 3: She said she said 4: I want to tell you 5: revolution 6: I want you she’s so heavy 7: day tripper 8: I saw her standing there 9: with a little help from my friends 10: happiness is a warm gun
@@davidjveyna You like (Bloody Mary)? I write symphonies for $1.49 each... but the royalties will cost you a whooooooole lot more. (Like maybe Lot's wife... she was a working girl, North of England way, now she's hit the big time…. split the U.S.A. into “BS” and "Help, my sister’s coughing!!”
Birthday is the worst song of all time. They played that dumb riff every morning on the radio for celebrity birthdays when my mom took me to school. And its the first track on the B side of the white album. I left it off my copy
Now, I know I’ll probably get a lot of flak for this list and the absence of some notable Beatles riffs. So I’d like to ask what would be in your top 10?
Blocksy in no particular order she said she said, I want to tell you, ticket to ride, I feel fine, and your bird can sing, day tripper, birthday, and I love her, you can’t do that, Helter skelter
I Want You (She's So Heavy) is both my all over favorite riff and Betales song. The heavyest and coolest riff ever and much more heavy metal than Helter Skelter. Also - who made and played the different riffs?
@@RetroVzqz9313 Thanks. George's influence is still underrated. A stroke of genius with 11 words in almost 8 minutes. In addition, the Hammond track from Billy Preston is just super cream. We should perhaps also thank Yoko Ono for being a heavy inspiration for John.
This piece shows the absolute best of the band, with Billy Preston's contribution as the icing on the cake. I forgot to add 'darkest' riff, and I mean of all in rock'n'roll history. There's just nothing like it. I'm a guitarist and still struggle to get the 6/8 cord play on top of the bottom riff right. Damn, it's heavy!
1. Peperback Writter (Paul McCartney Riff) 2. Day Tripper (George Harrison Riff) 3. Helter Skelter (Paul McCartney Riff) 4. Revolution (John Lennon Riff) 5. I've Got A Feeling (George Harrison Riff) 6. Birthday (Paul McCartney Riff) 7. Dig A Pony (George Harrison Riff) 8. I Want To Tell You (George Harrison Riff) 9. I Feel Fine (John Lennon Riff) 10. Ticket To Ride (George Harrison Riff)
All these legendary riffs were composed by John, with the exception of I want To Tell You (George), Paperback Writer (Paul ) and Helter Skelter (Paul), I believe.
I always thought Day Tripper was the best riff ever (John), so Paul came up with Paperback Writer and George came up with I Want to Tell You. The true battle of the riffs, and John won this one. All were great though!
A very well thought out list, you placed Paperback Writer and Day Tripper are obvious innovative riffs within the field of guitar based rock and roll and among the best that the beatles created. I would have included the very original and intricate riff in "If I Needed Someone" by George Harrison instead of Revolution since the later is just distortion on one chord and not really that creative.
Riffs sensacionais , Beatles é indiscutivelmente uma das melhores bandas de Rock se não forem a Maior , o que fizeram estara marcado pra sempre na história
Well just the fact that they're so astronomically popular to this day means everybody has heard their songs through cultural osmosis, even if they don't know they're beatles songs.

epic yes
That was quite a good list, dig a pony is a underrated riff..
The whole song is underrated
Sitting On A Froot Loop it really is
Sitting On A Froot Loop the whole album is underrated IMO. It’s not as good as Revolver or the White Album but it’s still pretty damn good
It was the first one I thought of when I clicked on this video 😅
One of my go to riffs
Great list! "I Want You(She's So Heavy)" would be on mine. It has a really dark riff before the chorus. "Yer Blues" is another favorite. 😃
Both are great riffs and I did consider them. I think if I did a Top 20 I may have put them on.
I do not like the song I Want You (She's So Heavy) but I like Yer Blues!!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Same here
What about the in my life riff
Claire Gutridge check out Lennon ‘The dirty Mac’ version he played for the stones with guests you might know!
She Said She Said would definitely be on my list.
This is a good call. I did consider this and And Your Bird Can Sing.
@The Green Pill Mindset the drumming!!
I think, "Hey Bulldog" is also good enough for a second list :-D...
Helter sounded exactly like the original
Mike Gubisch yes it did 👌🏾💯
What's the secret to that "microbend" on the open low E string? I've always wondered.
Strumming it slightly faster and harder than usual
The g chord is a g Barre chord
it was slightly off, but for the most part yeah
Think I should do more Beatles content? Leave a comment and subscribe! bit.ly/1YzT9us
Yess plz
"I want you"
Yes please!
I’d love that!!!
This boy
You can’t do that
Norwegian wood
Rain
If I needed someone
Doctor Robert
And your bird can sing
Hey Bulldog
I want you
Because

I find your lack of She’s So Heavy disturbing
what's disturbing is WHY she's so heavy

George’s guitar during the chorus of revolution is great
Always thought it was John?
David Hyrman It was John
David Hyrman the part he plays here is John. But listen to George playing it up an octave during the chorus and sliding up the chord.
So thrilled to see I Want To Tell You on this list.
It's a great little riff.
Where’s “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)?”
Underrated song in my opinion
Try d minor 5th fret bar, then em 7th fret bar, then Bb, & A major bar chords.
It's on Abbey Road
@@KorderoSPL say that to my brain
And your bird can sing?
Love the song and the riff.
yeah Revolver is full of great riffs. Taxman also have a great riff (though its more like a bassline in first verse, it becomes a guitar riff in the second), She Said She Said, And Your Bird Can Sing, Doctor Robert, I Want to Tell You + Paperback Writer AND Rain. Great guitar throughout the album.,
Nah, he Is pretty quiet actually
I completely agree that riff is awesome
Y my guitar gently weeps o here comes the sun?
Paperback was the first riff I learned. Going strong 10 years later
I do the riff in D minor, cant hit the vocal in G.

And the hardest to play in my opinion

I'm surprised Hey Bulldog wasn't on here.

great list I would’ve added I want you (she’s so heavy) and hey bulldog personally but great job!
I agree. They are great riffs.
I noticed that all the riffs in this video are from 1965 onwards. Some great, more obscure tracks like Dig A Pony. Cool video.

I sent this to my grandpa and he loved it!
Thanks! I'll be doing a top 20 at some point also.
Not only were the riffs amazing, but it's what they did with the riffs too
You Can't Do That is a good riff too. It sounds good on the twelve string.
We can argue about which are top 10 but you did a great job!
‘I’ve got a feeling’ sound just like the start to a Shed Seven song. Going for Gold I think.
That was my exact thought! 😂
Nice to see I've Got a Feeling on here, good call - nailed the tone for Revolution as well 👍
Not even a fan of The Beatles but man, those are some very tasty riffs! I want to learn them now.
Well played.

Hey Bulldog

I Want You (She's So Heavy) is both my all over favorite riff and Betales song. The heavyest and coolest riff ever and much more heavy metal than Helter Skelter. Also - who made and played the different riffs?
John and George worked on that one closely
The main riff is them in unison and then I believe they alternate soloing

Awesome list! Some of my favorites are Don’t Let Me Down and And Your Bird Can Sing
Very, very close to the original sound - especially Helter Skelter & Birthday. Great work.
Great list. I think an honorable mention would be Drive My Car. :)
You should reapeat this with more! Amazing work!
I'd like to do an updated one. Thank you.
1. Peperback Writter (Paul McCartney Riff)
2. Day Tripper (George Harrison Riff)
3. Helter Skelter (Paul McCartney Riff)
4. Revolution (John Lennon Riff)

John actually wrote the Day Tripper riff even though George plays it on the album
The only George song here is “I Want to Tell You”
That was simply great. Thanks for the music.
Helter Skelter was the one that impressed me and I never really associated that song with heavy metal, but isolated guitar, definitely.
The whole time I was watching the video I kept waiting for day tripper to show up. Glad it was so high on the list!
As Paperback Writer is my top 1 Beatles song, am happy to see it in the first place, but tbg, the bass is more awesome in that
