The Nano, like other equipment, has a learning curve. Once you learn, you love.
Very fair response. I respect that. Thank you for watching 🙏
Thanks for the new video. It is muscle memory. I can almost use it blindfolded. I hate to learn a new device when it does not appear to be better. I believe it is the strobe that causes an inaccurate amount of light when turning it up or down (it saves the energy from the previous setting). You have to dump "test fire" the strobe to clear the power after changing the power (if my understanding is correct). Thanks again for the video 👍
Thank you for watching John! Yeah and I get the concept of learning something new if it’s better but I just couldn’t get behind it. And I gave it a fair shot. I shot several weddings and events before I posted the video. But I wanted to double down on this one and clear up some questions I got on the previous one too. And I think you may be right. It’s odd how I only does it sometimes though. At this point I’ve been shooting for so long I know what a full power pop sounds like vs a low power one 😂
I'm with you on this one. I bought the Nano and although it's a really cool gadget and works well, the tactileness and speed of changing settings is so much easier on the X-Pros.
Yeah it's a very pretty design but the classic layout is far superior in the field. It's like a long term relationship...I'll take the one with the better personality lol
Needed this, just in time for Labor Day sales :)
I was eye balling the Xpro II cause it looks nice but I don’t need it 😂 I’m gonna use this til it falls apart
That's the one I use, I love it! The wireless stuff is always so finicky, but the X3 has been a solid piece, never had a problem!
Oh damn you got the new one? Honestly I couldn't get into it. The older one (Xpro) I've never had issues with, so the new one didn't bring any solutions to any problems I wasn't having. It was a less intuitive design in my opinion. But hey, if its working for you
@@TNKPhoto OH my bad, I meant the Xpro oops!
Honestly, it’s a thing I see when discussing Chinese companies. Criticize a ProPhoto flash, or a Sigma lens and no one cares. Criticize a Chinese company and people don’t just say that you’re wrong, but the insult you as a person.
So many Chinese brands are killing it! But if you bring up when they aren’t, you get attacked.
As another (much smaller) OC photographer, your content has been super helpful. Thank you!
I appreciate you watching my dude! And yeah, no company is perfect. That’s why I don’t necessarily like to take sponsorships unless they allow me to say what I want to say and speak freely. There’s actually a flash company that I’m speaking with, and I told them I didn’t want to release a video Because there was one major con about the unit that they sent me. They told me they’re releasing a new one with the fixes, which was a great response and I told them I’d be happy to review the new one and give the comparison then. But generally speaking, for what you’re paying for, these Chinese companies kill it. I’ve actually had a speedlight from Godox, the TT 600 since 2017. I just posted a video about it how it’s the best flash for under $100. Nothing is perfect but find what works for you and get out there and make a living using it 🙌
@@TNKPhoto Totally get it. I've had great luck with Godox (once you replace the plastic hotshoe). I just got the AD200 Pro II if you want to check it out. In Costa Mesa.
@@I922sParkCir Absolutely! Once you work around a couple of quirks, they're good to go! Thank you so much for offering! No lie, I literally just ordered it like 30 seconds ago lol I wanna do a review and my old AD200 has definitely earned it's rest as my secondary flash when this comes in. But follow us on IG, I'll follow you back and perhaps we can link up sometime 🙌
Great Video! I have a nano trigger and also the Xpro 2. There's a lot of stuff I like about the Xpro2 but the nano is growing on me. especially since I mostly use one light for location shoots. If I were using multiple lights, I would prob go xpro2 for sure!
Oh yeah with one light I can definitely see that since there’s less to mess around with 😎
Agree 100%!! and not just because I'm old! 😄
😆😆😆
I use 2 Nanos (one on each camera ) on weddings at reception time, the size ia perfect. I also use the Xproii when at the studio . each have their strength .
I respect this opinion. You definitely have more brain power than I do lol! I can't focus on two cameras at once, let alone two cameras and two remotes. I'm more simple minded I suppose 🦍 😆
Do you really have family sessions where mom is a little upset at a photo session because she would rather be hanging out with her family? 😂 I have never experienced that. All jokes aside. I was just gifted this Nano from. Godox. I won it based on a comment I made on another video. I am very much looking forward to putting it thru it’s paces.
I agree with you.
Thank you so much! And thank you for tuning in!
good video, lots of good points.
i own 3 triggers, xpro, xpro2, x2t.
i like all 3 just fine but, one thing i would like is the wheel on the x2t is my favorite wheel. add that to one of the xpro's and it would be perfect!
the little mini came out and i was not even interested.
Thank you so much William. How do you like the Xpro vs the Xpro II? That little wheel was nice, it’s probably easier to adjust. Yeah I wasn’t jumping for joy on the newest one but I bought it just so I can say “ok I’ve tried it and this is what’s good and what’s bad about it”. It felt annoying to use, like taking steps back from usability for the sake of it being smaller
Still rocking my X2, no need to upgrade for me.
💪💪 if it’s working, keep at it 🙌 I did switch from it to the Xpro cause I found it a bit easier to adjust different groups faster but the x2 is still a solid option. Plus having the hotshoe is nice in case you wanna attach something on top (some people attach cameras to film bts on top of it)
Modern tech is touchscreen and graphical UIs now. I think godox just keeping up with the times and giving us options. When smartphones were first coming out, I swore id always have a physical keyword because touchscreen keyboards sucked. But here i am with a damn iphone. I think when Godox comes out with the nano x3 version 2, itll have improvements. And the only reason I have the new peak design messenger bag is because it was free! haha.
I agree. I think their first approach at touch screen was a miss but I’m sure they’ll improve and I’m curious to play with the next iteration of it. But I felt like doubling down on this video and addressing some questions I got on the other one
lol if it’s free it’s for me. Also you have the Remy special so that’s different. That thing is priceless now 😎
Coming from software engineer's point of view, I also would not want to join a company to work with old tech (e.g. the black and white software). It's just not great for the career and skill. Companies sometimes make these kind of choices due to reasons like these that dont meet the eyes of the end consumer.
We like the old style over here but sounds like OLDER too 👴🏼
It’s ok, we’re aging gracefully 😂
Gosh, I've commented on every channel that reviewed that piece of garbage.
Everyone said I'm wrong and it's really good and I'm standing in the way of progress, this is why I get so upset with influencers...sigh...
So I'm a portrait, wedding and event photographer, I'm also in the studio on most days. So Im always using flash.
1. Firstly why do I need to sync it wirelessly, even if I use a pocketwizard with my old alienbees once I have the same channel and group I'm good to go, it that's how it sync, why is this wireless syncing so different and special?
2. If I'm constantly changing my flash settings, I can't be constantly looking to make sure I put my finger on the correct spot on the touch screen. Just like those same people who criticize your findings use also their muscle memory so they don't have to place their finger correctly onto the shutter button or change the aperture when it needs to change.
3. To much to get to simple controls when you're in a fast paced environment.
The nano/x3 whatever it's called is a gimmick that's not practical for most situations.
I would probably use it if I was doing product photography or real estate .
Heck yeah dude, I said the same thing! I got some pushback from some people but it was pretty split down the middle. Just cause it’s prettier, it doesn’t make it better. I returned it after doing the review
@@TNKPhoto Do more godox reviews, tips and tricks, you got a good thing going 👍
@@jeffrey3205 Thank you my brother. The one where I reviewed it at first still gets hate comments to this day lol but I stand by my opinion. Ive posted a few other Godox videos but I have a ton more content I can post about it. Thank you for the encouragement!
I have the new bag and it’s not enjoyable to use for our gear
It’s so bad lol. I had it for a week and like salad on top of spaghetti, I send it back
I just was negative in the comments about a video (not Yours),,,, the person felt that I hurt his feelings (LAST THING I WANTED TO DO)(I felt Bad) I simply disagreed with the Influencer ..... Bummer for both of Us :( :( :(
Oh man that sucks. But respect to you for having enough emotional intelligence that you knew the message wasn’t received how it was meant. Hopefully they understood in the end. If you have thin skin, UA-cam posting isn’t for you unfortunately. I’ve had some not so nice comments thrown my way too but I try to read them from a positive standpoint and maybe learn from what they’re trying to tell me. As long as it’s respectful, we can always disagree 🙌
